CNN MEN: #2 John King

John King used to annoy me with his map in which he pinpointed how short fat white balding men with limps and a butt rash voted in rural Wisconsin. But....He is also a great reporter who has covered some amazing stories. Lately as he has been filling in for Anderson Cooper and Larry King, I find myself strangely turned on. Yes he is quite a bit older than myself, but as with other men, as my respect goes, often does my lust. John King is one who has risen in my books lately.

CNN MEN: #1 David Gergen

David Gergen, who? Yes David Gergen. What? As stated, I am totally obsessed with coverage of the current election, and out of all the correspondents and analysts currently yacking about all things political, Gergen comes across as one of the fairest, unbiased and intelligent. He does not resort to some of the high school slams some of the other correspondents resort to and is always the most balanced on any panel he is on. I also find him compassionate and tries to look for the positive without the spin.

CNN MEN: Lets not forget

Lets not forget Thomas Roberts, although he did not stick around CNN long, he was great eye candy. The openly gay anchor left CNN in May of last year.




And What About:

So...where’s Anderson Cooper...well not on my list. I had great respect for Anderson when he was a reporter, covering the war, and his amazing coverage of Katrina. Since he started Anderson Cooper 350, Cooper has went from serious news man to the CNN late night version of Regis Philbin. His current role is more of a tv personality than reporter and he has become quite annoying. If he is Regis, then Erica Hill certainly is his Kelly, or more accurate, Kathie Lee. I find it inappropriate and off putting to be watching a story on the death toll in Iraq or a devastating flood only for them to abruptly transition into their silly banter about some funny picture or trivial matter. I am sure much of this is the producers decision, but it has diminished Anderson’s credibility in my eyes.

That transitional period. Jesse McCartney

Oh that transitional period for young stars. Jesse McCartney has been filling up pages of teen magazines for the last few years. His appearances are starting to be less frequent. No longer able to play the teen on a WB drama, or draw the 12 year old girls into concerts, McCartney is in that stage where he has to grow up and try to find an audience beyond his old fan base. Oh how Hollywood is riddled with actors and singers who were unable to make that change. They either went into other area's of the business (ala 70's Shaun Cassidy, who was the biggest star around for about 3 years, then nothing), or they leave Hollywood unable to find work, or the saddest, the stick around Hollywood, taking gigs on reality television and spend most of their earnings on drugs. There are a few who make it past this awkward stage to become stars as adults, but the list is short. Here are some pics from Jesse's newest music video.
