End of the Seasonal Sightings: ❄️

David Ortega

'No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.'

As always, I like to mark seasonal transitions by posting the remaining shots left my folder from the outgoing season.  It was a snowy December through March than the last few winter seasons. We had lots of wind, and it got pretty cold, and we had a decent snowfall in December, giving us a nice, but quiet white Christmas.  Usually we're hit with blizzard after blizzard in January, but we had more storms in February this year.

Winter isn't over yet.   We've had huge snow dumps as late as April.  I remember several years, when people were starting to mow their lawn in May, with piles of snow still melting on the edges of their property.  I don't expect that this year, but you never know.  One of our biggest snowstorms occurred in the first week of April.  The saving grace, it melted away quickly. So with snow coming this week, it's too early to say sayonara to the snow, but hopefully soon.

Although Winter and Autumn are my favorite seasonal sightings, I'm very much looking forward to spring arriving.  The days are warmer now, but it's still cold at night.  Although we didn't get much snow, there are still a few piles in the corners of my lawn, not so much white anymore, but more a light shade of brown.  With the temperatures on the rise, it will be gone by the weekend, until of course that surprise spring snow inevitably arrives.
