Erotically Charged: Seth & Aiden by Michael von Redlich

'I think nude work outdoors, It can be a very erotically charged environment.'

There is something especially erotic about stunning outdoor locations, especially when you have the right models collaborating with just the right artist.  Erotically charged moments can be electric, and photographer Michael von Redlich has both the eye and experience to illuminate each and every one.

When Michael got together with models Seth Peterson and Aiden Garcia they were very much a couple.  Although the relationship ended, you can see both the passion and electricity in the images Michael captured.  The couple may have been going through some tense moments, but with their work in the adult films, they knew the assignment and brought their A game when the camera was clicking.

'When he is on his own, he is very charming, funny and more creative in his ideas. The very first shoot with his soon-to-be-ex was more tense, but I didn't know him well enough then, so I just thought it was him.'

Although is his second shoot with Michael, Seth was completely naked, in this series, he and Aiden stripped down only to their undies.  Despite that, I love the sense of fun and play and the eroticism displayed, especially in the moments of touch and intimacy that Michael captured.

Down From The Tree: Seth Peterson by Michael von Redlich

'In addition to Seth being an amazing physical model to photograph, he has a very quiet peace about him.'

That 'quiet peace' that photographer Michael von Redlich describes is evident in all of the images Michael and Seth Peterson created together. Under the brilliant blue sky that illuminated the shoot,
Seth shows a respect for natural beauty around him, and even with touch and in movement, he mirrors the serenity of his surroundings.

'For the entire shoot at Sycamore Creek, Seth was open to new and different perspectives. He’s very collaborative and is absolutely a partner in the photo process. He’s also become a very good friend.'
Michael von Redlich

As you can see from this series, the majestic tree that Seth is posing with is more than just background, but a partner in focus.  One of my favorite parts of the shoot was viewing the many ways Michael and Seth utilized the natural beauty of the tree and the many angles and views Michael captured.

As the saying goes however, what goes up, must come down and eventually Seth descended from the tree to pose in other areas within the Sycamore Creek locale.  As stated, Michael sent on hundreds of images, with shots of Seth in the tree, making up only a small percentage of the entire shoot.  Although I'm closing out, with a few shots of Seth on the ground, I'll share more soon in a future piece.

I couldn't do a post on Seth Peterson however, without at least a mention of his tattoos.  I know fans of the adult actor and model, are well aware of the small arrow on Seth's chest, and the cute little turtle, on Seth's equally adorable butt.  Seth shared how he chose these body art subjects, (below) in an interview he did with The Sword

What is the meaning behind your arrow tattoo?
It was kinda just my first tattoo and I thought it would look good.

And the turtle on your bum?
I got that one after reading Stephen King’s “It” because it represents God. Later I realized it can also be viewed as a caution sign to go slow when I bottom.

A Paradoxical Perspective: Kylan Boyd by Michael von Redlich

'Modeling was a new area for Kylan, but one he embraced very quickly and naturally.'

I think some might assume that modeling would be a breeze for a porn star, but that's not always the case.  Sure, they have experience being nude in front of a camera, but the purpose of an image is far more nuanced than that of an adult film.  With a film, you expect to be fully satisfied while watching, the purpose is to meet a need.  An image on the other hand, is more like a sensual beginning, an visual invitation to a party, not necessarily the party itself.

Like a great book cover or film poster, a great image stimulates the viewer to want to see more.  To open that book, to see that movie, to learn more about the person in the image, and the person who created it.  My favorite images are more subtle than sexual, more erotic than explicit, more seductive than climatic.  Yes, they can often lead to a climax, but as an initial provoking, stimulating our imaginations to then take over.

Most of all, the images that I tend to be drawn to arouse.  They arouse a sensual excitement for sure, but more specifically for me, they arouse curiosity, and the desire to see and learn more.  That's exactly what happened when I saw images of  porn star Kylan Boyd from photographer Michael von Redlich.  I first one of Michael's shots of Kylan on Michael's Twitter.

I'd never seen any of Kylan's films, but I knew his name.  A quick Google search brought forth a series of images, mostly caps and still from his films.  I was struct with how different Kylan looked on 'film', compared to the images that Michael had captured.  In the screen captures from his films, Kylan looked 'busy'.  Most were moments in which his body and facial expressions were frozen moments of erotic frenzy while in the midst of sex.

In Michael's images, there's a beautifully paradoxical perspective of Kylan captured.  A quieter, more peaceful and personal perspective, one that your average porn flick doesn't usually provide.  Porn is just a job, and we all act differently at work than we do behind the safety and privacy of our front door.

Michael's images capture that safe side, a vulnerability with a focus on beauty and form, far from the heightened sexual frenzy of Kylan's day job.  Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with sexual frenzy, but with photographs, I'm drawn to something more sensual and subtle, something that provokes my mind flow along with my blood flow.

When Michael sent on a folder of his work with Kylan, I was struct that almost three quarters of the shots featured Kylan with his pants on.  I was a little surprised, as given his work in porn, I'm sure he'd have jettisoned the jeans without a second thought, as soon as Michael started shooting.  Although those jeans do come off, Michael set a tone with the clothed shots, capturing sides of Kylan that might have missed if he'd been nude in every shot.

Given the folder had hundreds of images, if they'd all been nudes, it would have gotten boring.  Instead, my initial focus was on Kylan's beautiful face and eyes.  Michael captured an array of beautiful looks and emotional expressions.  I loved the range of perspectives that Michel captured, going from an almost boyish innocence through a knowing sensuality, enticing the in viewers with eyes and poses.

Of course those jeans did eventually come off, in a slow, seductive strip.  You can check out that series, as well as Michael's thoughts on his work with Kylan, on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Back Story: Jay by Michael von Redlich

'At the end of the first shoot he assumed he had to “pay” for it and said I could do whatever I wanted '

Clearly, I love images of hot men, I wouldn't still be working on FH if I didn't.  Regular readers of the site also know however, that as much I love a great image, I also love a great story.  Learning about how a shoot came together, and the experience of the participants, often adds a layer of complexity and depth to the impact an image or shoot can have.

That is certainly the case with photographer Michael von Redlich and his work with 19 year old Jay.  When I first saw the images (hundreds of them!) that Michael sent on from his multiple shoots with Jay, I was initially taken with Jay's tight hot body, his striking face and beautiful and expressive eyes.  I especially loved the images in which Jay was smiling, making faces and appearing just to have fun.

Those moments are even more meaningfully after Michael shared that this was both Jay's first professional photo shoot, and  his first time posing nude.  Given his inexperience with nude modeling, During his first shoot with Michael, Jay was nervous that the shoot, and any resulting images for his portfolio, would come with strings.   When Michael ended the session, Jay prepared himself for what might come next.

At the end of the first shoot he assumed he had to “pay” for it and said I could do whatever I wanted - I handed him his clothing, and said he owed me nothing,  I added that if he was hungry, he was welcome to join me for a quick bite. Jay began to cry when he understood that the shoot was all that I wanted.

Although Jay had never modeled naked before, he wasn't naïve.  Michael found Jay on a dating website, but was clear from their first contact that he was looking only for a model.  Given how they initially connected, it wasn't a big jump for Jay to still assume there might be stings attached. During their subsequent shoots however, Michael learned why Jay reacted so emotionally to the photographer's professionalism.

Jay was both very surprised and very excited when Michael first asked him to shoot.  He and his family were struggling financially, and never thought about modeling before.  Michael shares that in the beginning, Jay had very little self-confidence, and didn't see himself as good looking.  This was part of the reason Jay felt that there had to be more to Michael's offer than just a set images and the photo shoot.

There was a lot of pressure on Jay to make money, to help his family financially.. Jay shared that his mother didn't appear too considered about how he earned the money, and at one point even tried to convince him to take a job as a gogo boy at a local club.

Photographers of the nude form, both of male and female models have gotten bad reps over the years, usually due to the predatory behaviour of a few.  It's understandable that both models and  photographers would be cautious about who they work with.   Jay alluded to some bad experiences with older men in the past, and after hearing his story, I'm glad that his first shoot ended up being with Michael.

As stated, although new to nude modeling, Jay wasn't shy, and over the course of their many shoots and collaborations he became more comfortable and even a bit of an exhibitionist in front of the camera.  Although the shoot started out with fashion shots and implied nudes, it was Jay who initiated pushing the boundaries. From the many images that I saw, Jay actually appears to become more comfortable when his clothes are totally off.
