Leigh McCloskey in Hamburger: The Motion Picture

'Russell Proco has been expelled from several schools for lewd, crude and nude conduct. Busterburger University is his last chance for an education and pleasing his disappointed parents.

I started crushing over actor Leigh McCloskey in the 1990's when I watched repeats of Dallas on the old Nashville Network.  There weren't many young hotties on the show, and the only under 30 actors on the show were usually playing one of Lucy's boyfriends.  As much as I like Leigh, I wasn't a huge fan of his character Mitch.  Mitch had a chip on his shoulder and although the show brought Leigh fame, the writer's really didn't do the actor any favors.

Dallas

Leigh's character Mitch was back and forth on the series a few times, and between his appearances, Leigh made several comedies in the 1980's.  Despite appearances in a few teen sex comedies, we never really got a nude scene.   Leigh is in a 'mooning' scene in 1985's Fraternity Vacation, (which you can see HERE:) but I always wondered if it was Leigh or a body double.

Hamburger: The Motion Picture

It's tragic that Leigh never showed more in 1986's Hamburger: The Motion Picture.  I recently watched it, and there were so many scenes with missed opportunities!   We do get quite a few shirtless shots, and a hot scene of girl looking down Leigh's boxers, but that's about it.

I do keep meaning to watch Leigh's turn in Alexander: The Other Side of Dawn.  Although Leigh plays a male prostitute, it was a TV movie, so there was no nudity.  I know there's a copy on Youtube, but it's really low quality, and think I'll keep my eye out for a better copy.

Favorite Birthday Boy for June 21st Leigh McCloskey

Actor Leigh McCloskey who most know from Dallas as well has various daytime soap roles turns 53 today. Prior to landing Dallas, Leigh made many quite good tv movies.
I know Leigh had a butt shot in one of his movies, but could not locate it today. If I do, I will be sure to post.

Blast From The Past: The Eighties

I am not sure how many of you watched CNN's The Eighties on Thursday, but for me, it was the ultimate blast of my eighties past. I watched much of the television that influenced my early life in the eighties, and entered my teen years about the time the 80's were ending. It was still a time of 3 networks and for most of it, our house was still without a VCR. Although we ended up buying one, after much begging and pleading of our parents, it was a Betamax, and a machine I wasn't even allowed to touch until the 90's rolled around.

I have written a few times about my affinity for the prime time soap Dallas. I didn't really watch it so much in the 80's, but I have intensely emotional memories of watching my parents watch the show. Friday nights were really the only night, they both sat down and watched television. I remember at first, I was ushered off to bed before the show started at 9pm, but after a few years was able to stay up and watch with my parents.

I didn't actually watch the series, this time paying attention, until years later when it aired on the old The Nashville Network (TNN) and subsequently on DVD.  The show, though dated, it a great window to the greed of the 80's and the first six or seven seasons were fun to re-watch.  I loved me some Sue Ellen and Lucy Ewing and the many men who went in and out of their.... lives.  One of Lucy's main loves was Mitch, played by the talented and beautifully blonde, Leigh McCloskey.

Mr. Lucy Ewing on Dallas (1980)

Mitch didn't stay on the show too long, maybe because Leigh didn't always fit in with the rest of the cast.  I am sure he got along ok with them, but the actor and artist always seemed a little too serious for all the silliness that surrounded him.  With CNN's The Eighties, and it's focus on Dallas, and television of the decade, in it's first episode, I thought April might be a good time to look back at some of those 80's hunks who introduced me to the wonderful world of men.
