'The greatest masterpiece in literature is only a dictionary out of order.'
Jean Cocteau
No matter when you attended school, either fifty years ago, or five, things have changed. It's impossible to list all of the things students no longer get to experience or use. Dictionaries, trapper keepers, calculators, overhead projectors card catalogues and in many schools, even peanut butter sandwiches.. I used to especially love the smell of the wood shaving from manual pencil sharpeners, and the inevitable mess on the floor when the tiny storage compartment became full.
I attended University from the late 1990's into the early 2000's. By then, most people had access to a computer. There was still however, so much information not on-line. This meant still heading to the library for research. I spent countless hours at the library and the school archives, doing research with a microfilm reader. I think by now, most content has been digitalized, but I know they're still used in schools, businesses and museums to preserve archival materials
Some things however, thankfully remain the same. School are still full of students who it into the stereotypical tropes. The jock, the nerd, the the cheerleader and the beta bitch. The bully, the goodie goodie, the brain, the goth and the class clown. Given the theme of the site is the male form, we've also given a fair bit of attention the the boy next door, the hot jock and those frat bros who for some reason, (on FH at least) always seem to be mooning.
One of my all-time favorite artists, JayBee. (
Frisky Frolic) has delightfully photographed most of those male student tropes JyaBee's work has, and I hope, will always will be, a part of my holiday and theme days. If you check back on some of my past '
back to school' posts, (
HERE:) you'll seen dozens of JayBee's images of hot teachers, frat boys and struggling hot male students getting disciplined for their F grade. Although Oxford may no longer publish a printed edition, they still create electronic and online editions. Good thing, as our hot nerd
Stephen Jung is always looking to expand his vast and incredibly impressive vocabulary....
