Drawing on Japanese folklore, ghost stories and dream narratives, artist Luke Hardy presents a new selection of photographs at Photo Sydney 2026. The presentation brings together works from the ongoing FOXFIRES, SHADOWINGS and THE WAKING DREAM series, including the exhibition premiere of Kitsune-bi/Foxfires #20.
Working between photography and collage, Luke Hardy constructs layered images that explore memory, transformation and the space between waking and dreaming. Inspired by Japanese visual culture and storytelling traditions, the works blur the boundaries between the real and the imagined. Anatomy of a Sex Scene
'Sex scenes are awkward, it's a very strange and bizarre thing to be doing.'

Fans of the male form in film are keenly aware of the 1998 drama Velvet Goldmine. The film starred three of Hollywood's, (well Europe's) hottest actor. Christian Bale, Jonathan Rhys-Meyer and Ewan McGregor. All three have done multiple nude scenes and if you search their names on FH, (top left hand corner) you'll see all did full frontal scenes.
Last night, during my nightly marathon of episodes of The Graham Norton Show, I watched an episode from season nine with Ewan McGregor and Chris O'Dowd. Not only did they have a light saber fight on stage, Graham pulled out a great story. While asking Ewan about his thoughts on nude scenes, Ewan told a story of his sex scene with Christian Bale in Velvet Goldmine. As much as I love a great nude scene, I also love a great story and Ewan told a fun one. Listen Below;
'I did have a sex scene with Christian Bale. We have a shag on top of a rooftop. We started quite slowly, .. and it went on and on, and then I just thought, I would have cum by now.'
Although you don't see much of McGregor or Bale in the scene, fans of the film know you saw a LOT of Ewan in an earlier scene. Ewan was fearless in one of the hottest, and most 'generous' male nude scenes on film. Check it out on the NEXT PAGE HERE:
Kaelan Strouse: Keeper of Thresholds
'One time, I was asked to disrobe to my underwear for an audition, and I had a full blown panic attack. '
Working on FH for so long, there are many themes that recur in the stories shared by artists and models. Although we should really know better by now, so many still assume the hottest among us are confident and secure with their body and looks. It makes perfect sense actually, that many actors and models at one time or another struggled with body issues. When it comes to insecurities, most people do one of two things. We either hide or conquer. Most of the men I've featured have confronted their fear, fought, tackled and eventually conquered the issue or insecurity that was holding them back.
For model, author and spiritual guide Kaelan Strouse, the process of facing his fears was not only a victory, but it also helped him to thrive both physically and spiritually. Even before reading Kaelan's answers to my questions, I could both see and feel his success in his visuals. Not just his impressive physique, but there is a joy and confidence that exudes from both his eyes and beautiful smile. Those who follow Kaelan on-line know his images are more than just stunning illustrations of his hard work and dedication. They're also samples of way of living, a way of thinking and a passion for sharing his experiences with others.
I know many of Kaelan's followers are also fans of his prominent phallus, but I actually never saw his monumental member until after deciding to reach out. I've recently been enthralled with visuals featuring the male side silhouette. I love the lines and curves of the back and butt from an side view pose.
When I was recently looking for a 'hot boy' on the side, I found the image I used at the top as pic of the day. I loved how Kaelan looked standing by the rail of the boat. Not only the outline of his gorgeous body, but his smile and sexy salt and pepper hair. I didn't initially know who the beautiful man was, but a quick Google image search took me straight to Kaelan's profile on Twitter.
If you head to Kaelan's official website, in the 'about me' section, Kaelan describes himself as an author, spiritual guide, and keeper of thresholds—the places where body and spirit, longing and belonging, self and soul meet. I was especially struck by the phrase 'keeper of thresholds.' Such a spectral combination of words for the one who stands at the boundary between realms, stages of life or distinct states of consciousness.
Just like his physical transformation, Kaelan's spiritual journey has evolved over years of practice and training across yogic and energetic traditions. Kaelan's platform, Ecstatic Self, has supported thousands through private mentorship, retreats, workshops, and ceremonial gatherings. His experiences have led him to chronical his path in books including; Journey to the Ecstatic Self, I Dreamt of Flight, and 48 Gateways to the Ecstatic Self. A fourth book is due for release next spring.
Regular FH readers know that although FH is focused on visuals, one of my goals is to also share the stories behind their creation. My writer's curiosity won't allow me to simply post pictures of hot men. There are plenty of other sites for that. I want to look beyond their physical form to see them as men, beyond just a group of body parts, no matter how stunning some of those parts may be. Kaelan kindly responded to all my questions, quenching my curiosity about his work, his images, and his impressively inched intromittent.
When did you first realize you had an exhibitionist side?
In my early twenties, I would shake uncontrollably if I even had to take my shirt off. One time, I was asked to disrobe to my underwear for an audition, and I had a full blown panic attack. I decided to make it a priority to get comfortable with nudity. Then, in 2022, a friend inspired me to explore nude self-photography. I was living on 3 private acres, so I took my iPhone outside and loved what I came up with. I gradually learned to enjoy the freedom and connection that nakedness provides.

Where is your favorite place to be nude?
A gay campground. I like being in nature with other gay men, naked together.

I think we are more honest when we show up as our fully exposed selves. There’s less bullshit than when labels get in the way.
What has been the best experience thus far?
I have really enjoyed how supportive and playful my husband has become with this. We will be someplace and he will encourage me to get naked and take some pics while no one is looking.

You've posted images on your fitness progress over the last 10, what is the one best piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to change their physique?
Ignore the standard advice. Find what you need for YOUR body. It took me literally 20 years of trial and error to find what works for me—of religiously working out and eating—before I saw any gains. I have connective tissue issues — I can’t do free-weights. I can’t push super heavy without getting injured. I had to learn how to work with the body I was given. Also—rest. No one told me that you will not make gains if you’re not getting regular, prolonged high quality sleep. Getting tested for sleep apnea, getting a CPAP, and regularly getting 7-8 hours changed my life!

Almost none. I live in Washington DC… there’s very few creatives here. It’s not the place where artistic nude photographers typically choose to live.

Something in a gorgeous botanical garden. Where the human form can be seen as being one with the cultivated beauty of the natural world.

Celebrate, Educate, and Break Stereotypes

If you were on social media yesterday, you may have seen a lot posts celebrating the start of Bisexual Visibility Month. Bisexual Visibility is observed throughout September to celebrate the bi+ community, raise awareness, and combat biphobia and identity erasure. Despite strides and increased visibility in entertainment and media, there continues to be biphobia both out, and within the larger LBGTQ community.
I of course had to celebrate with my bisexual boyfriend, and TV crush Nick Nelson. If you watch Heartstopper, especially in season one, there many, including Nick himself, who struggle with his being bi. I think Nick was one of the first bi characters on a show I watched and loved.
Of course actor Kit Connor also came out as bi, but that hasn't stopped either he, or co-star Joe Locke from landing a slew of upcoming roles. In addition to Kit's role as Cyclops in the Marvel Universe, it was just announced he'll also play Robber Chambers in the upcoming Preppy Killer. I'm also looking forward to seeing Kit, along with Will Poulter and Manu RÃos in Rapture, the queer medieval zombie horror flick due to start filming later this fall.

Unlike American actors, European actors seems to have few hang-ups with on-screen nudity. This may be especially true for hot Scots. I've never been to Scotland, but it's definitely on my bucket list of places to travel. Some of the countries most successful actors, (McGregor, James McAvoy, Gerard Butler) have all done multiple nude scenes, and all three have done frontals. Although McAvoy's and Buter's were 'quick or you'll miss it' frontal flashes, Ewan's scenes let us look and linger.
