Matteo Lane: Al Dente
I'm one of those gays who actually hates attention, well... mostly. I like 'controlled' attention, like I received when I used to act on stage and did a little stand-up. That need however, wore off after awhile, as like other drugs, attention can get tiring over time. I do however, really enjoy other men who crave attention, as do like giving it...
Last week, I gave quite a bit of attention to comedian Matteo Lane. I'd previously seen and loved Matteo for a few years now. I think after seeing him perform on some late night talk shows. Last week however, Matteo was everywhere, promoting his new special, The El Dente Special on Hulu, and his new book, Your Pasta Sucks.
I watched Matteo's Hulu special over the weekend, and really enjoyed it. I needed a good laugh, and Matteo really delivered. One of the things I love about Matteo's humor is how relatable it is. Not just to me, but to everyone. So many comedians seem to write and perform for a specific group of people, their audience. I'm sure Matteo does as well, but I found his humor more broadly appealing than many other comedians that I watch and enjoy.
Despite his obvious love of the spotlight, I also get the feeling Matteo loves his privacy and keeping parts of his personal life quite as well. Prior to pandemic, and prior to his marriage in 2023, Matteo posted more thirst traps, and seemed to be looking for different kinds of attention. Understandable, and grateful to have those old images. The last year or so, he seems more focused on the attention coming for his work rather than his often nude body.
As much as I'll miss all those thirst traps, I totally get it. The more I see Matteo on stage, the more I value his skill and talent. Being a comedian today means constant challenges and obstacle courses on what is funny and what is acceptable.
Matteo seems to have mastered those challenges, not by avoiding any particular subject, but by being incredibly funny. He also skillfully ensures any arrows shot are rubber tipped, causing a jolt for sure, but not any permanent pain.

Casual Unwear
We believe every day should feel as exceptional as the start of a long weekend
Although the catchphrase for Abercrombie & Fitch was Casual Luxury, it really should have been casual nudity... well partial nudity. Although there was plenty of skin, both male and female, there were not vagina's or penis' on display, I don't even think we saw a female nipple, not in the catalogues anyway. Still I miss those catalogues and the homoerotic images used in advertising in the 1990's and 2000's.
When I began my on-line adventure in the late 1990's, remember hunting for the hottest shots from the seven years of catalogues. (1997-2003). The catalogue attempted a reboot in 2010, but never really hit like during it's initial The store, the company and the catalogue have all gone through some stuff since then, even the catalogues primary photographer Bruce Weber did not get out unscathed. There have been many articles and documentaries documenting the companies employment practices, and treatment of employees and models, but I have found memories of those early days.
Image by Herb RittsOne of the hottest parts to me about the catalogue, and it's images, were the cmnm/cfnm elements. Although no one wore much, there were many shots with hot, partially clothed models, posing with other models, equally hot and nude. Given my recent focus on the cmnm/cfnm themes, I thought I'd take a look back at some of the most iconic from the catalogues. Check out my favorites on the NEXT PAGE HERE:
