Secret Ingredients: Kince by Studio1x

There's really no other holiday other than THANKSGIVING, where the dinner feast makes up pretty much the entirety of the celebration. Yes, it's about gathering family together to give thanks, but that's most often done around the dinner table. Sure, Christmas and Easter also have celebratory meals, but they're just part of a series of celebratory activities. 

We all know a lot goes into putting together the Thanksgiving feast.  If you've never been responsible for the meal, you may not know everything that's involved.  It starts with planning, doing a list and shopping.  You can't 'wing' a big turkey dinner, you have to be prepared.  There are spices, like summer savory, you only really use once or twice a year, and not having them on hand can ruin the perfect stuffing you've planned.

If you want to spend any time with your family during the holiday, on the day before, you need to pre-pare as much as possible.  Peel and prepare the vegetables, make the desserts, getting the stuffing ready and most important of all, if you purchased a frozen turkey, you need to make sure it's thawed.  Then on Thanksgiving morning, you get up early, stuff and spice the bird, the put it in the oven.  Then... if you done the proper preparatory work, you can take a brief break, before basting and getting the rest of the meal together.

Then there's that last half hour before the meals.  Vegetables to be mashed, turkey taken out to rest, stuffing removed, and gravy to be made.  Then, you join your family, tired, and usually frustrated by the lack of help, and too stressed and exhausted to eat.  Instead, you pour, (another) glass of wine, and take in the compliments from those gathered at the table.

Thankfully, we here at FH have an answer, one I used for my last holiday meal.  I hired Kince in the Kitchen!   Kince will to the preparatory work in his own kitchen, then arrived at your home around noon on Thanksgiving day, and put everything together for you.  As tasty as Kince's bird and giblets are,  the most mouthwatering part of the meal is watching him cook.  Sure, you could spend that time chatting with your annoying Aunt Sally, but since Kince does his best work naked, it's much more enjoyable, to stay in the kitchen.

The key is to keep your other guests out of the kitchen!   Lock your kitchen if you can, and let them know you like to cook alone. The only person I allowed in was Jim from Studio1x to capture the male prep for posterity.. yeah, posterity.  Kince of course looks amazing just standing their naked, but just wait until you watch him stirring, whisking and masking.  Kince's body moves with the mixer, meaning your holiday show is filled with flip-flopping flow of movement and motion.  I've enjoyed featuring Kince and work with Studio1x over the last few years. (HERE:) Kince actually made his debut at another Thanksgiving meal back in 2021. 

Of course my favorite part of the show, (although I'm not sure it was Kince's) was my asking him every few minutes to get me something from the fridge.  Usually, these were things I'd place on the bottom shelves, ensuring a extra special view when Kince had to bend over to reach them.  Even if he minded, Kince kept a smile on his face, never letting his holiday spirit crack under pressure.  To help with the stress of the day, Kince brings along Brisingr, his emotional support kitty, to assist him in the kitchen.  Sure a cousin might complain about a cat hair in his sweet potatoes, but it's worth the odd complaint to ensure Kince is relaxed, and on his poultry zone.

'My favorite part about working with Jim is how gung ho he is. We’ve worked with honey, cream, thrown me in a storage bin, wrapped me in plastic, thrown water on me, painted me gold—so much has happened over our shoots together!'

Kince

This isn't the first time I've featured the dynamic and multifariously hot Kince on FH.  Although you may recognize his name, even his beautiful body, but you may not necessarily recognize his face.  Kince is a bit like a chameleon in front of the camera, with subtle variations to his hair or facial expressions, creating major changes in his look and appearance in front of the camera. 

We were first introduced to Kince, and his work with Jim from Studio1x, back in 2021.(HERE:)  Kince was the jockstrap wearing dealer in a Thanksgiving game of strip poker.   Some of you might remember that the jockstrap eventually came off and game night took a turn with a game of naked Twister for five. 

The next time we saw Kince, he was posing along side Alex as a hot studio production assistant for an Oscar themed shoot.  When Jim first sent on the images of Kince and Alex, I didn't immediately recognize Kince from Game Night shoot.  In addition to wearing glasses, his hair was also shaved much shorter.   It totally changed his appearance and I had to double check that the adorkable PA was actually the same sexy card dealer from the previous piece.  

Of course I shouldn't have been surprised, Kince is a performer, and his background as a dancer not only helps create incredible poses and visuals, it enables Kince to seamlessly slip in and out of different characters and persona's in front of the camera.  Since I've previously only featured Kince in shoots with other models, I thought it was time to shine the spotlight on a sexy solo shoot.

The last time I featured Jim's work, I focused on his studio work, (HERE:) and how incredibly creative, and how many different looks Jim was able to capture within a specific pace.  His work with Kince was no exception.  Jim sent on hundreds of images from his multiple shoots with Kince, and there were so many great looks and themes captured, it was as always, impossible to fit my favorites into one piece. Although this may be the first solo shoot I've featured spotlighting Kince, it will not be the last you'll see over the next couple of months. 

Who or what got you started with modeling? 

'I initially posed for friends back in the Philippines, mostly for fun and to help with their individual portfolios. After immigrating to the US a photographer building his portfolio found me on MySpace in 2005(!) and asked if he could shoot me. He realized my dancer background lent itself to a knack for posing and body awareness at our very first shoot and he encouraged me to pursue it professionally. We worked on creating a OneModelPlace profile for me and the rest is history! '

What has been your favorite modeling experience thus far? 

I’ve had the great fortune of working with some really incredible photographers over the years, but my favorite experience is an ongoing one! After modeling for Chris Verene at Art Basel in Miami, I now find myself privileged to be an ongoing facilitator for his work, The Self-Esteem Salon—in fact we’re flying to Chicago to bring it to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) next week! 

Any odd or strange stories from any shoots? 

'Oh gosh, WAAAY too many! One that sticks out to me though is after doing a photo shoot involving flour: I went to shower and had the…uhhh… let’s say -unfortunate- reminder that flour + water = dough. AND my hair was freshly bleached at the time! Awful experience all around. Although the final shot of me jumping became the cover of Joseph Lambert’s photo book “Dancers in Flour” so I can definitely say it was worth it. '

What has your experience with photographers been like so far, any offers you've turned down? 

'I love modeling and I love working with all sorts of photographers of all experience levels. It’s just so incredible being clay to someone’s vision over and over again. Modeling has largely been a positive experience for me and I’ve overall had very respectful photographers. That said, I’ve received some pointed hints/requests at potential “extracurriculars” for a particular session and it’s generally my first red flag to turn down a proposal.'

Why do you think you like modeling? 

'Because no two photographers see you the same way. It’s hard to explain, but it’s so exciting seeing how they see you. It’s like that whole “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” bit but in tangible form..'

'Never try to outstubborn a cat.'

Anyone whose had a cat knows that they believe, with every piece of fur on their body, that they're in charge.  Even if you didn't want a boss at home, you have one.  With this boss however, the cuddles are welcome, without the need to notify HR.

Whenever there's a cat in proximity to a shoot, they're going to find a way into the shots.  It doesn't matter if you close the doors, or put them in another room, they'll find a way in.  Their patient, they'll wait for you have to go to the bathroom, or open the door to get something, then voilà, there in the room, rubbing against your legs and stubbornly insisting on being in every shot.

It's especially difficult if your shooting in the cat's home.  There territorial senses take over when pushed to the side, making them even more determined to be exactly where they shouldn't be.  It's why so many of us appreciate their stubbornness and fierce independence.

I was first introduced to Kince when Jim from Studio1x shot a Thanksgiving strip poker party for FH back in 2021. (HERE:)  Since then, I've been fortunate to have been able to feature several of the other shoots he and Jim created together.  Most of the shoots I've spotlighted thus far have been studio shoots, but for this series, things got a little more up close and personal.

Although he's since moved, this shoot took place at the Seattle apartment where Kince was living at the time.  I really love it when photographers shoot in a model's home.  There's not only extra layers of intimacy, there are also additional elements of the model's life and personality included in every shot.  It's not just their space we take in visually, but the emotional component of being shot in the place their most comfortable and at home.

There's also of course their pets, and in this case it's Kince's eight year old Bengal cat Brisingr.  I love Kince's choice of the name Brisingr which comes from the Old Norse word meaning fire.  My last cat was named Ophelia, but basically ignored me whenever I called her.  Unless I was shaking a bag of cat treats, she really only really acknowledged me when I called her Kitty.  

As you can see, this little ball of fire joined in whenever she had the opportunity.  Regardless of what Jim and Kince had planned, this was Brisingr's shoot, with everyone else, merely supporting players and assistants.  It worked out though, as some of my favorite shots included Brisingr walking into frame.  Since Jim's move, he and Kince haven't been able to shoot again, but Kince generously shared some of his memories of their time shooting together.

Favorite theme Jim asked you to shoot?

Jim and I have always had more of a collaborative approach when it comes to shoots, so it's never been a hard sell to do anything. I guess a better way of answering this would be to say my favorite session was when we did milk and honey in the same day. Milk was his idea; honey was mine. 

Any you didn't enjoy? 

I've never not enjoyed a shoot with Jim. The closest thing to disappointment would be that sometimes my no-frontal clause can limit what I can shoot with other models. I also wish we had more opportunities to shoot when my hair grew out; I love creating a varied body of work with each photographer I work with. 

Do you have a favorite shoot of Jim's, other than your own?

Jim did a series of remote photo sessions with models during the pandemic where he shot his phone live streaming them. I really wish I had managed to get in with one of those sessions. 

If Jim was still shooting, #1 concept you'd like to shoot? 

Given the success of our other concepts I'd love to explore something similarly sensual, probably involving some form of liquid in some capacity. Maybe an antique tub filled with cornstarch water or something of a similar nature.

Studio1x: All You Can Eat!

'The group that I choose for this concept were a great group of guys and all very open minded.  Even though none of them had met each other before, everyone was very excited and open to the idea and thought it sounded like a lot of fun.'

This shoot wasn't just a first for most of the models, it was also a first for Jim (Studio1x)  The was the first the PNW photographer had brought together five models for a shoot.  Getting them all together was the easy part, but wrangling them all together into frame proved an even more daunting task.  Thankfully, Jim put together the perfect group of guys, and Jim shares that they were all game for what he had planned.

Given there were five hot hunks on set, all completely nude, I of course had to probe into how it all played out.  Enquiring minds want to know! Thankfully, Jim and the guys were open to sharing some of their stories.  Well, at least some of them anyway...

'Everyone was very comfortable but that had a lot to do with the personalities that we had that day. If you didn't know you would have thought they were all good friends and have seen each other naked many times.'

What did you think when Jim first suggested the theme and set-up for the shoot? 

Diego: Surprise! 

Dee. I was excited. It's a holiday so often associated with ideas and images of the most conservative notion of American family, and so any opportunity to queer it, I'm on board. (And to do it with a group of hunks, hell yes.)

Jonathan: I was definitely excited - we scheduled this to be done right after the IT shoot; I knew it was going to challenge my personal comforts and familiarity, but what a cool opportunity.

Alex:  I was beyond excited to shoot again with Jim let alone on a Halloween scene.  Halloween is my favorite theme next to Christmas. Thanksgiving was pretty fun as well 

Had you ever posed nude with 4 other models before? 

Dee. I'd never posed with other guys before.

Jonathan: Nope!

Diego: Never

Alex: I have been video taped nude with several models for a Fraternity x scene

Did having other models make you more, or less nervous? 

Jonathan: Nope!

Alex: Less

Diego: More, too much in my head

Dee,  The idea made me nervous, because they're all hot and I don't have the best self-esteem about my own body. 

Who was the most shy? 

Dee. I probably started out the most shy, but left with five new friends

Jonathan: Hmmm. Diego was confidently quiet; Dee seemed maybe the most shy at first.

Alex: I believe Diego

Diego: Me!

Who was the most open about baring it all?

Jonathan: Definitely Alex

Alex: It was between me and Kince

Diego: They were very relaxed and cool about it.

Kince: Dee was the most effervescent but Jonathan had some bites!

Who was the jokester? 

Jonathan: Again, definitely Alex 😂 

Alex: The photographer (Jim) mostly! But also Jonathon

Jim: They all were jokesters in their own way, each bringing their own jokes timely.  I would say that Kince and Alex were the leaders in the jokes followed by Jonathan.

Were there any embarrassing moments during the shoot? 

Diego:  I fell on the backdrop😲

Jonathan: Of course. But i leave that up to your reader’s imaginations.

Alex:  Oh there were so many and plenty enough in-between. Posing nude it’s almost impossible for me to stay soft when I got some attractive men around me 

Kince: Well when a certain unnamed model’s penis became -very- erect after coming close to my ass I definitely had…thoughts.   There was also one moment when I found Jonathan’s asshole within two inches of my face. Good times. 

Jim: I would say that I was probably the most embarrassed out of them all in giving them direction and then seeing they actually followed them so we just went with it. 

What was the most fun part of the day? 

Diego: Meeting everyone

Jonathan: The whole day was awesome. It was fun, collaborative, safe and I met a group of amazing men.

Dee. What was most fun about the day--and surprising--was how kind they were and how good, how sexy, they made me feel, too  Kince and I got a Blizzard at Dairy Queen on the way home, and that was a treat after the treat of laughing with naked hunks for the afternoon.

Alex: The entire shoot was the best! Jim being awesome, and I’m glad I got the meet the other models cause they all had great personalities 

What was the hardest? 

Diego: My own self-image insecurities but it ended up being a really cool experience.

Alex: Probably getting the angles right and finding the right poses

Jonathan: 🍗 Thanksgiving dinner. Trying to find the “vibe” and reason for this group of random dudes to have dinner together… nakedish.

Were there any worries about unexpected pop-ups? 

Diego: Didn't happen for me

Kince; When you’ve modeled naked enough you rarely get them yourself.

Alex:  I was aware... it naturally happened

Jonathan: Of course!

Which model surprised you the most?

Jim:  I would say that Dee was the one that surprised me the most. He is a bit more shy then the rest and modeling was newer to him but he went right into with an open mind. 

What was the best part of working with Jim? 

Diego: He's very kind and professional

Dee.  Jim is funny and makes everyone feel sexy (because everyone is sexy!). He's warmhearted and welcoming and non judgemental.

Jonathan: He is such a powerhouse with the male form. Working with him is a treat.

Kince: Jim always does great work. The best part is how he lets you play however you see fit and how he respects any boundaries you set. Plus he just knows how to pair models together. 

Alex: Jim made us feel comfortable, he fed us  and he gave us a helping hand in finding poses. He’s one of the greatest photographers I've worked with!
