The Most Positive Feeling: Mark B. by Immortal Form

'I adore working with Dave.  He's such an awesome photographer to work with and a truly sweet guy. I always feel at ease and each shoot we do has its own theme. We try different things and hopefully people enjoy the images we create as we had fun creating them.'

My love of visually celebrating holidays goes back to the early days of FH.  At that time, it was difficult to find original holiday images, especially for Canada Day.  Thankfully, over the years, several photographers, from Chris Teel to Briancan Photography and Dave from Immortal Form have shot original Canadiana themed visuals to help celebrate July 1st.

Dave's work has certainly not only become a favorite to feature, but an integral part of FH's Canada Day traditions.  I've previously featured Dave's work celebrating the day with Ethan, (HERE:) and Matt, (HERE:)  This year's shoot with silver fox Mark was planned and created exclusively for today's visual festivities.

I love how Dave and Mark incorporated both the theme and the official Canadian colors.  I especially loved the inclusion of the Moose crossing sign.  Those who live on in the Eastern Canadian provinces are used to seeing the signs, as well as trying to avoid the largest member of the deer family, when traveling the highways.

Dave shares that Mark is one of the big reasons he loves and enjoys his work so much.  Dave's worked with a lot of models over the years, but some, like with Mark, leads to a friendship forming and changes your life together.  Plus, with Mark's incredible face and rock hard physique, you get to create amazing images as well!

'Mark is a delight to work with. He's hard working and keeps himself in excellent shape. I've been very lucky in doing photography to meet some wonderful people and that's not only true in Mark's case but he's also become a great friend.  This was our fourth or fifth shoot together and we did it specially to produce images for Canada Day on FH.  We had a ball! '

Dave was one of the first photographers that Mark worked with, and was part of the reason he both began, and continues to model. Their creative relationship was instant, and quickly led to a strong friendship. They've continued to work together multiple times and Mark shares that it's always a positive experience working and collaborating with Dave

'I have to say that Dave was a lot of the reason I started doing modelling. A year and a half ago he had asked me to model for him and I said yes. I remember arriving and being very nervous but after a few minutes talking with Dave I was very at ease. We did the shoot and I remember going home with a huge smile on my face and the most positive feeling. The rest as they say is history. '

For this shoot, Dave planned a bit of a Canada Day surprise.  Mark had wanted to do an indoor studio shoot so he and Dave arranged a time and date.  When Mark arrived at the studio, Dave surprised him by adding the Canada Day theme into the themes they were shooting.  Mark was thrilled.  Although Dave had brought the Canadian Flag and some other themed props, even with notice, Mark was prepared with his red and white jock straps!

I'm proud to be a Canadian and Canada Day is an opportunity to celebrate our country. It's also a time to acknowledge that we have a lot of work still to do and that to solve our issues we have to come together from a place of understanding and mutual respect. Happy Canada Day! 🍁🇨🇦🍁

The Spirit of the Day: Only Matt by Briancan Photography

''I did have one model faint after a bathtub shoot. '

My goal on CANADA DAY, is always to shine the spotlight on some of my favorite Canadian artists and models.  I first discovered the work of Toronto's Briancan Photography back in 2017 and quickly got in contact about featuring his work.  It took a little while to connect, but we finally did and Brian's work first appeared in the 2019 piece. Total Immersion.  You know how much I love a theme, and Total Immersion focused on Brian's shots of men in a bathtub. The model who fainted ended up being ok, thanks to Brian catching him before he fell.

In addition to just loving his visuals, there is something distinctly Canadian about Brian's work.  It's not just the hot Canadian men that Brian captures, but also the locations he uses.  Brian often shoots outside, incorporating both the scenic Canadian landscape, but also the ever-changing Canadian weather.  I've featured Brian's images from all four seasons, with some of my favorites being his colorful Autumn, and snowy winter visuals.

Even when Brian shoots inside, there hints of Canadiana.  In the first bathtub series, there were shots with acorns and maple leaves floating in the tub.  For this Canada Day themed shoot, Brian ensured there was a little red to help showcase the amble assets of the ultra hot OnlyMatt.  I'm guessing many non-Canadians think all men in the land of maple syrup are as ruggedly hot and sexy as Matt.  Although it does take a certain vigor and sturdiness to endure the long Canadian winters, like location or culture, Canadian men come in a variety of incarnations.

Brian connected to this particular captivating Canuck through photographer George Duncan, whose work many of you have seen previously on the site,  (HERE:) Brian shares that George often heads to Montreal to shoot, and Montreal is where Matt works and lives.  In addition to his being very sexy, Brian describes Matt as lovely tow work and very receptive to new concepts and ideas.  They've now shot together a few times, including a recent duo shoot. Brian loved the chemistry between the two models, and hopefully we'll get a peak in the future.

In addition to his incredible physique and handsome face, Matt's eyes reflect the intense determination he puts into his career and his future.  When your face and your body are so central to your career, pushing limits and boundaries is a part of the package.  Matt applies his assets to a diverse range of carnally connected careers from modeling, erotic massage, film production and other adult content art forms. Matt's also a great visual storyteller, as you can see from his comments below.

First Nude Shoot:
My first public nude experience was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. It happened during a professional photo shoot for a project I was really passionate about. The setting was an isolated, picturesque countryside field, which helped me feel more comfortable and confident. It was a liberating experience that marked the beginning of my journey in the adult content industry. This experience helped me embrace my body and express myself more freely.

Favorite Part About Modeling:
My favorite part about modeling is the creative expression it allows. I love being able to transform into different characters and tell stories through the lens of the camera. It's incredibly fulfilling to see the final images and know that I've contributed to a piece of art. My favorite reaction has been from fans who tell me that my work has inspired them to feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin.

Knowing that I can have a positive impact on someone's self-esteem is incredibly rewarding. On the other hand, my least favorite reaction has been dealing with negative comments or judgment from people who don't understand or respect the industry. While it can be tough to handle, I've learned to focus on the positive feedback and support from those who appreciate my work.

Favorite Thing About Working With Brian:
My favorite part about working with Brian is his incredible eye for detail and his creative vision. He always knows how to capture the best angles and bring out the most striking aspects of a scene. His professionalism and ability to make me feel comfortable and confident during shoots are also huge pluses. Brian's enthusiasm and passion for photography are contagious, making every project we work on together not only productive but also a lot of fun. His dedication to his craft inspires me to give my best in every shots.

Favorite Thing About Being Canadian:
My favorite thing about being Canadian is the diverse and inclusive culture. Canada is known for its welcoming and accepting nature, which allows people from all walks of life to feel at home. I also love the stunning natural landscapes, from the majestic mountains to the serene lakes and forests. Being Canadian means having access to amazing outdoor adventures and a high quality of life. The sense of community and the values of kindness and respect that are ingrained in our society make me proud to call Canada my home.

Favorite Way To Spend Canada Day:
Although I don't typically celebrate Canada Day or any other holidays, I do appreciate the spirit of the day and what it represents for many Canadians. I enjoy seeing the sense of community and national pride that comes out on Canada Day. For me, it's a time to relax and reflect, perhaps enjoying some quiet time or working on personal projects. While I may not partake in traditional celebrations, I still value the significance of the day and the unity it brings to people across the country.

Couleurs Nationales: Peter by Chris Teel

'I am very fortunate to be living in Canada where I can (for the most part as a gay white man) be who I want to be without many/any repercussions.'
Peter

The national colours of Canada (Couleurs nationales du Canada) were declared officially as red and white by King George V in 1921. Red is symbolic of England and white of France. Although George V was the King of the United Kingdom, he was also King over the British Dominions which at the time of his reign included Canada. Canada remained officially under British rule until 1867 when Canada became a self-governing dominion, while retaining it's ties to the British crown.

This historical connection to Europe is important in the understanding of how Canadians live and think. Although geographically connected to the United States, Canadians are for the most part, are philosophically more closely tied to their European roots. Canadians are often considered, described and even mocked for their politeness. This perceived politeness most likely stemmed from their British counter parts and their reputation for 'the stiff upper lip'. Many have assumed this phrase refers to a lack of emotion, but for Canadians, it's more about being understated, and showing a bit of self-restraint with the expression of emotions.

Canadians feel emotion, pride, and love country deeply. The expression of pride however, has been historically been more seen than heard. It's felt and known, it doesn't necessarily have to be proved. Canadians are generally quieter about pride, it's usually seen on their faces in their smiles, and in their eyes. Where as some countries feel the need to be The Greatest, Canadians are generally more content with just knowing they're Great. It should be noted that this does not apply to Hockey, (especially during the Olympics) nor as anyone who watched knows, the NBA play-offs if the Raptors make the finals.

So, why the history lesson and commentary on Canadian Pride? Well, it all sort of played a role in the creation of this shoot. The theme of understatement, stemming from national colors, was a part of what photographer Chris Teel wanted to capture in his Canada Day shoot with Peter. Chris Teel was one of the first Canadian photographers of the male form that I featured on FH. Since that first post back in 2009, I always look forward to showcasing Chris' work, especially so on Canada Day.

Although white may be an understated color, it's hard to be understated when the magnificent Peter Kelly is bulging behind it. Peter wears the red and white with pride. Peter shares that he has finally started to grow into his body, and although he feels he still has a way to go, has worked hard the last few months at the gym getting his body in shape. Peter perfectly showcases the red and white, especially the red jock and Canadian Cock T-shirt provided for the shoot by Toronto designer, Raw Studio Designs.

'Working with Chris Teel and it has been such a fun time! Modelling for Chris has allowed me to fully embrace my body and sexuality. I am such a sexual/open person (I think we all are deep down but tend to suppress it) so it's been amazing to just finally let go and let it all hang out. I hope by talking more about my sexuality and doing things such as photoshoots it will allow people to feel confident to open up and truly be the free expressive humans they want to me!'

As for the Canada Day theme, Peter says it added a fun element and brought forth a perspective that was also personal for him. In addition to pride in country, Canadians are also express pride over their history of being ahead of the curb when it comes to gay rights. Although Canadians know they still have a long way to go in many areas, they are a country proud to their commitment to be always pushing forward, while being mindful of the issues and pain of the past.  Peter put this beautifully into words in describing his pride in his country below.

'I am very fortunate to be living in Canada where I can (for the most part as a gay white man) be who I want to be without many/any repercussions. Most countries around the world do not have the protections for people on the LGBTQ+ spectrum like we do and for that I am forever grateful. It is crazy to think if I was born on the other side of the border my life could be vastly different.'

'I love Canada and am so proud of how far we have come but we too also have a lot of work to do. Although I am fortunate to be living in such a great country, it's also hard not to recognize the injustices towards indigenous peoples and continuous struggles for others on the queer spectrum that are not treated the same as other LGBTQ+ folks. Some of these that come to mind are trans, two-spirited, POC, woman, non-binary folks etc. The list is much longer than I even know but it's something I continue to learn about everyday. I think Canada Day stands as a good reminder to recognize all the work that needs to be done to create a safe, true north for all.'

Northern Exposure: Shane by Briancan Photography

'Modeling was a natural progression from my nudism. I went from walking in front of crowds at the beach to being a nude life model.  I always let the photographer know I'm open to most things and if they have any ideas we can talk about it. I also love any project promoting body positivity.

To help celebrate Canada day,  my goal is always to spotlight some of my favorite Canadian artists and models.  Over the last few years, Brian from Briancan Photography has become one of my favorite Canucks to feature on the site.  I've been fortunate to feature Brian's work many times over the last few years, so when started thinking about Canada Day, I knew exactly who to reach out to.

I loved the series Brian did for New Year's Eve, (HERE:) and knew he'd find the perfect Canadian hunk to spotlight for July 1st.  Brian came through with Shane, whose openness to creative concepts, had him eager to create something to help celebrate the day.  Shane's handsome face and eyes are both friendly and engaging and his hot body lets you know that even though he's Canadian, he makes no apologies for his sexual passions and desires.

Shane's only concern about the theme, especially given he was going to be naked, was exactly what he had on hand to celebrate the holiday.  After searching his home for anything Canadiana, all he ended up finding was a red and white maple leaf toque and a Canadian scarf.  Turns out, that's all he needed.  Anyone who know anything about Canada, knows that toques and scarves are worn in certain parts of the country all year round, with many, especially in the North and East, still getting frost warnings well into May and June.

How did the shoot come together?

Shane:
I follow Brian on IG which is where we connected.

Brian:
My husband and I wanted to travel again and hadn’t for over two years because of Covid. thought it made sense to stay in Canada for our first trip and we both really liked Vancouver having travelled there 6 years ago

How was it like working with each other?

Shane:
It was fun and things turned out despite the cloudy day and the hotel. Hotel rooms can be a crap shoot, especially for lighting and staging.   Brian was very easy to work with and talk to. I'm not really nervous when it comes to getting naked in front of strangers but it was good to feel a connection with regards to what he wanted in the shoot so it was easy to talk and adjust as needed.

Brian:
Shane was terrific. I came across his profile on Instagram and since i like hairy men I thought he would be a perfect subject to photograph. He was the only model I photographed while we were away. He was easy going and we responsive to my pose requests. We didn't do any erotic shoots

How do you celebrate Canada Day?

Shane:
Usually with friends if we can. We tend not to have any specific plans. Just whatever comes up.

Brian
My new husband and I are going to Scarborough bluffs to hang out naked for a few hours.

Canadian Content: Kyle by Chris Teel

Given how many movies and television shows originate from the United States, some might be surprised to learn that other countries have developed 'content' laws, ensuring broadcasters air shows and programs originating from the country and and area the channel airs on.  In Canada ,🍁 Canadian is content is regulated by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. (CRTC)

Currently, the CRTC requires that at least 55% of all programming aired annually by broadcast television stations, and at least 50% of programming aired daily from 6:00 pm to midnight, must be Canadian content.  Without this law, it's possible the world might never have seen shows like Degrassi, Schitt's Creek or Anne Of Green Gables as the content laws encourage broadcasters to fun programs from their own country.

When I think of Canadian content laws, I also think of the male form and erotica.  Why, because Canada has two official languages, the content laws also set a level of French speaking programs that must be aired.  Now many who grew up in Canada remember the 'French Channel'.  This channel originated from Quebec and aired in both French and English speaking provinces in the country.  It also aired in many States along the border and in the North Eastern States to those who had satellite dishes.

I know many of you who got the French channel remember Bleu Nuit, a late night show that aired from the mid-eighties through 2007.  Blue Nuit's focus was on erotica, mostly softcore porn and European films.  It was on Bleu Nuit that I saw my first penis on film.  I can't be sure, but I think it may have been in Fanny Hill, which I previously featured on FH HERE:

Ever since I began celebrating Canada Day on FH, I've also tried to stick to my own Canadian Content rules, looking to Canadian artists and models to spotlight on Canada Day.   One of my favorite Canadian photographers is Chris Teel.  Chris is also the artist from Canada that I've collaborated with both the most, and for the longest period of time over the years.  It was back in 2011 that Chris and I conducted our own Model Search contest with Matt Eldracher, (Tucker) taking the grand prize!

It has become a holiday tradition to feature Chris' work on Canada Day and this year, the Toronto based photographer suggested featuring his work with Kyle. (Furkingkyle)  Chris' shots of Kyle are intensely hot and Kyle doesn't hold back expressing his sensuality in front of the lens.  Check out the scorching results on the NEXT PAGE HERE:
