'There's something about using my body creatively, seeing it appear in other forms that I can reach out and touch has been very healing and reassuring.'
Many regular readers know that the F in FH stands for favorite. Although I often regret the use of hunks, (the H), the F has definitely helped guide the direction of the site and many of the posts and stories. I began wanting a place to share my favorite images. Not just hot shots of sexy models, but images that had me stop, pause and pay attention. Images that made me think.
Sure, being erotically stimulated is a part of imagery of the nude male form, but it's not enough to make an image great, or even a favorite. Most of my favorite images are story driven. The images, the artist and the model, have a tale to tell through their creative compositions. So many of the images I feature, even if it's just one single shot, are part of a story. They leave me wondering what happened just before the click of the camera, and what happens after.
Many of my favorite artists create trough a similar perspective, including model and artist Peter Williams. (Petarious) I first featured Peter's work earlier this year in a series of posts. The first, featured Peter posing for artists, painters and classes as a life model. (HERE:) The second, featured his classic physique poses with photographer Vintage Studio Art. (HERE:)
Although Peter has worked with both artists and photographers, so many of the shots he takes, and shares on-line are self-portraits. It's clear from the story they tell, that Peter is as much a creator as he is a model and subject. Peter doesn't just take hot shots of his incredibly body, or of specific body parts. His images are visual human sculptures focused on lines, curves, architecture and atmosphere.
For this piece, I asked Peter to choose his favorite images to share. Most of them, are self-portraits. Peter chose 20 of his favorite images, and I chose 20 of mine. In this piece, each of the images you see are from Peter's list of favorites. It turned out, not the least bit surprisingly, that many of Peter's favorites, were also on my list. Although all 14 images in this piece were on Peter's list, the last 8 were also on mine. I also asked Peter to share what makes an image a 'favorite' and his process for creating such sensual and memorable moments.
Peter: For this image, (below) the scene inspired this pose. I wanted something sacrilegious and irreverent, and I love how it turned out.
I loved Peter's quote in our previous interview about images can be both healing and reassuring. I think for me, far more than sexual stimulation, it's the two adjectives Peter used that most often provoke my love of an image or an artist's work. There are certain artists, whose images evoke memories for me, sometimes memories I'd thought I'd lost or forgotten.
Although the images are very much adult, they have the power to evoke emotions, one that are often connected to my teenage and formative years. There are so many artists who create images that bring forth feelings of hidden sensual desires, youthful hopefulness and a freedom from repression, rules and boundaries. These are the images that have me both visually, and emotionally pause, and choose to spend more time with.
Peter: 'There is something intimate about this image. (below) that feels like you could be a lover of mine, coming down from a loft to find me soaking up the sun, studying my poses like this. I like the whole story it could inspire.'
I think the image above is at the top of my list of favorites. In addition to Peter's comment about how it definitely could inspire a story, a very erotic one, the image had an additional meaning for me. When I think of my teenage years, I think back to my bedroom, and the hours I spent lying on the floor in a similar position. I was usually, (but not always) clothed, but I loved laying and working on the floor in my bedroom.
I surrounded myself with book, magazines, homework and music. I was far more productive working on the floor, than sitting straight up at a desk. I also did a lot of dreaming, and many of the stories I ended up writing had their creative start with my lying on the floor in a similar position.
Peter: 'In the image above, it's the dramatic lighting from both the natural light on the right and artificial glow on the left, with the dark background, that perfectly frames my body in this one that really makes this one of my favorites.'

Peter: 'In the image below, I love the drama of this pose, and I like the way my dick looks! A perfect balance of beauty and heat! '
