Joshua Henry in Ragtime

Say goodbye to music
Say goodbye to light
Anything I cared for
Take it from my sight

I was so happy to see actor Joshua Henry win for Best Lead Actor in a Musical for his role as Coalhouse in Ragtime.  Although I'm not a big fan of the show,  (it has some problematic elements) it is a classic, with some great songs.  I am however a huge fan of Henry who I first started crushing over after watching him close to 15 years ago when he performed on the 2011 Tony Awards.

The show was the Scottsboro Boys and Henry was amazing during the show.  I didn't have a DVR at the time, but a DVD recorder, and always recorded the Tony's.  The DVD with the 2011 Tony's had several award shows on it and I wore it out over the years watching, but mostly listening to t he shows. Henry earned his first Tony nomination for the show, and received to others, in 2014 for Violet, and in 2018 for Carousel.  In Henry's case, the fourth time's the charm!
