Both Sides Now: Alex by Saki

We're all made up of different personality parts.  Some sides, we share proudly, l others we hide.  We all have soft and gentle sides, hard and stubborn.  We're all sometimes the reader, and other times the storyteller. We love the total sensation of total freedom, yet also, the desire to be held or bound. 

As I've moved through life I've come to the same conclusion as David Lynch.  It's far healthier to embrace and reconcile each of our sides, even those we've chosen to keep a secret.  That doesn't necessary mean everything you do needs be shared, it just means that's important not to waste energy hiding something that's not really hidden.  

Most of our secrets, and most of our 'other' sides are most likely already known, at least to those who know us the best.  Even if they're never discussed, they're known.  There's a joy and a power to owning all that we are, even the parts we fear others won't support or accept.

Most FH readers know photographer and model Saki.  I've been featuring his work, (HERE:) both in front of, and behind the camera for close to a decade.  Initially, I focused mostly on the Paris based artist's work as a model and his beautiful nudes and self-portraits.  Not only was I drawn to Saki's visuals, but I also loved the quiet, sensual mood that he captured.  

Maybe in part it's his French location, but Saki's images always conjure up for me an erotic European weekend afternoon.  A sunny Sunday in rented villa spent with a new lover.  Of course there's a sexual component, but the predominate sensation is intimacy.   The type of intimacy you only feel once, the initial discoveries about the person whose body is wrapped around yours.  Learning their passions, what stimulates them, their quirks, and the many sides of who they are.

Saki seems to always beautifully discover many sides of the men he works with.  This was certainly the case sexy and sultry Alex Hey.  Alex is not stranger to posing nude, and was totally comfortable in front of Saki' lens.  Saki shares that Alex is definitely a exhibitionist, and had no problem with any of the poses, or shooting fully erect.  Alex and Saki have worked together twice now, and both hoping a third is on the way.

When I dove into Saki's large portfolio from his work with Alex, I quickly noticed the many sides of Alex he captured.   The images in this series are what I call the sensual series.  That quiet feel and beauty that I love so much about Saki's work.  Sometimes, depending on the artist and model, erection shots can change or alter the feel of a image series.  With Alex, they flowed so beautifully, maintaining the set tone.

I think part of the reason is because Saki's focus wasn't just on Alex's body parts.  As incredible as they were, Saki was capturing Alex, and his beautiful form, in it's entirety.  Saki and Alex were creating a mood and telling a story.  That Sunday afternoon with Saki's lens exploring the many sides of the man on the other side.

As stated though, Saki captured many sides of the Paris based model he was shooting.  In addition to this 'quiet' sensual side, there was another facet of Alex's personality also chronicled during their time together.  It's interesting how although different, there was also a streamline to the visuals.  Although very different, they weren't opposites.  It's like that reconciling of sides that David Lynch referenced.

Saki: Mediterranean Memories

Even before I knew much about Greece, or even where it was on a map, I wanted to go there.  It started with seeing Summer Lovers on VHS in the late 80's when I was still just a kid.  The story, the location, the views...  Even more than the stunning shots of a naked Peter Gallagher, (HERE) it was the rock, the cliffs, and especially the beaches that made the area so desirable. 

I've enjoyed the work of Saki, as both a model and photographer since first seeing his modeling images on Model Mayhem.  I've been fortunate to have featured Saki's work for close to a decade now, mostly as a model.  Most recently, I featured the artist's work behind the camera with a piece last September and his images of the delectable Joffrey. I've really enjoyed following Saki on-line, especially his Flickr site which had a comprehensive selection of his modeling and photography work.  Sadly, Flickr changed to a 'pro' structured site, meaning although people can keep their images there, they are no longer visible to others unless the artist pays a fee.

Thankfully, I've been able to keep up with Saki's new work on his Instagram and Model Mayhem pages.  Recently, I was struck with a few some beach shots Saki posted on his Instagram.   I've featured  few location shots from Saki before, but most, were interior shots I thought they'd be perfect for my 'beach day' and I was also curious about the location, assuming they were taken on a sandy stretch in France where Saki lives.

Turns out, the images were not taken along the Atlantic coast of France, but along several different beeches, in several different countries, with coastlines stretching along the Mediterranean. Saki was on vacations with different friends who snapped Saki on a few nude beaches, but mostly just quite, tucked away coves without a lot of other people around.

As you can see, in addition to Saki's beautiful body, he is surrounded by incredible visuals of the areas visited.  Most of these shots were taken in the Greek Islands; Syros, Milos, Patmos, Sporades and Crète.  In addition to the Greek Islands, some were shot while Saki was visiting' Portugal, Baléares  and Lecciona beach in Toscana.  I especially love seeing Saki in so many incredible locations as one of the things I love about FH is being able to virtually visit many of the destinations I hope to visit for myself one day.

When I watched the video in the Butler's in the Buff piece above, there was a comment that stood out to me.  It wasn't from any of the young hotties showing off their tight buns, but from one of the women at the party.  She and a few others were discussing enjoying seeing hot 'young' bodies, with an emphasis on the young.  One woman commented that for men, the cut-off for having a pert butt was about 40.  

I know that society in general, especially advertising and the media,  have ignored and dismissed women over 30 or 40 for decades.  As many over 40 know however, not every body starts sagging and falling apart on one's 30th birthday.  In my twenties I was active for sure, usually running between classes at University and the multiple jobs I juggled to pay for it.   I know for myself, I really didn't develop a regular schedule, and only really began to work-out and build muscle, after after I turned 30. 

 I was always fairly thin, but not necessarily healthy. In my 20's I didn't really exercise regularly, nor did I eat the best.  Pizza, fast food and beer were staples until I turned about 32 and decided to make some changes.  There are many men and women who feal they're at their healthiest, and look their best when they move beyond being a young adult. 

Over the years, I featured many men over 40 on FH, models, adult film stars and body builders.  Many shared being overweight or unhealthy when they were younger until finally putting a focus on their health and body.  One of my favorite hotties over 40 is self-described Parisian "senior" model Saki.  Regular readers know Saki from his work both in front of, and behind the camera.  When I first featured Saki on the site back in 2015, (HERE:)  I focused on his work as a photographer.  Since then, I've done numerous featured spotlighting his work as both an artist and a model.

I have been featuring Saki's self-portraits for over a decade now, with visuals of the talented French model and artist starting when he was in his mid-fifties.  I've always been struck with how Saki maintained his physique.  Now at sixty eight, Saki has maintained the body, and a perfectly pert butt, of someone many decades younger.

When I asked Saki his secret for staying fit, he annoying shared he really doesn't do anything special to stay in shape.  As we all tend to do, Saki was self-depreciating and admits he often spends too much time focusing on his wrinkled skin, abdominal fat and muscle loss.   He's also had his share of health issues over the years. (osteoarthritis, cataracts, prostate problems.)  Despite his answer, after featuring his work over the years, I think I have a wee bit of insight into his secret.

Saki has maintained his passion for both modeling and creating art.  This not only keeps him frequently surrounded by hot, naked men, it also keeps his mind and imagination active.  If you've seen some of the shots of models in Saki's garden, you also know the natural beauty which surrounds him didn't happen on it's own.  Saki also continues seek adventure, with some of his shoots have him traveling, exploring and skinny dipping in the Mediterranean.  I think for Saki, and for all of us, the search for new adventures is as much a youth tonic as any health food fad, medication or exercise.

Ironing Out The Kink: Pierre by Saki

Anyone who's done much dating, know how important it is to make a good first impression.  I'm not taking about meeting a stranger at a club or bar for one night stand, in those cases, the determining factors and expectations are less stringent.  I'm talking about an actual date.  A scheduled time with either someone new, who you haven't met before. A date with a meal and time for conversation to get to know one another.  A date that one or both parties hope might lead to something further, possibly even a relationship. 

Research tells us that most people, upon meeting someone new, make their initial impression in the first 10 seconds.  10 seconds.. that's not a lot of time to impress someone who might be a part of your future.  So... for most of us then, we arrive well groomed, well dressed, and share positive anecdotes about job, our life and our previous relationships.  We usually leave the kink, to iron out later.

For many models, the same principals apply.  For a first shoot, we want to make a good impression.  Maybe it's not necessarily about impressing the the artist or photographer, but on the many sets of eyes who may see the final shots.  Like that first day, we shower and shave, get our hair just right, and arrive arrive with clothing to wear to look our best.  Even if it's a nude, or implied shoot, we want to wear, and then strip off, flattering fashions. 

One of the most important things to include, is a selection of flattering underwear.  Most models don't pose in faded, well worn or torn undies.  Not that there's not a large audience for that...  Most models wear new undies in photo shoots, either ones they brought themselves, or one supplied by the photographers.

When Pierre first stepped in front of Saki's camera, he wanted to make a good impression.  Pierre is clearly very handsome, and When he asked to pose for Saki, the Paris based artist gladly accepted his offer to shoot.  Pierre was looking for relatively 'tame' shots that showed off his face and body, but that were not overly sexual.  For that first shoot, he wanted to hold back.  Pierre wanted to make a good visual first impression.  His goal, to create sensual images, but without his penis not be visible in the final shots.

Those images, from his first shoot with Saki, comprise the first set of images in this post.  As you can see, there were facets of Pierre's personality and interests, he wanted to hold back until a later date.  Those he save for his second time in front of Saki's lens. 

When I first contacted Saki about featuring his work with Pierre, he sent on the images above from their first time working together.  I thought that's all they were.  Whenever a photographer sends on a shoot without frontals, I always have to ask why.  I certainly don't require frontals for post, and some of my favorite shoots are implied.  I am always curious however, how the decision was made, so I asked Saki if it was his choice, or a boundary set by Pierre.

Saki answered my question by sending on images from second shoot with Pierre.  As you can see, by this time, Pierre had made the initial impression that he wanted, and had worked out the initial kinks involved with his first shoot with Saki.  It was now time, to share, explore and expose, other sides of personality and passions.

As you can see, one of those sides includes leather.  Although Saki supplied the harness, the other pieces of leather were owned, and brought by Pierre.  Saki shares that in both sessions, the more reserved first shoot, and the leather clad second, Pierre was the same.  Pleasant and enjoyable to work with.  Saki did note, that in their second shoot together, Pierre seemed a little less reserved, and took more initiative with suggesting some of the shots and poses. 

I was really taken with Pierre's first impression, it was the visuals from his first session with Saki, that let me to ask about featuring his images.  I equally loved the second set of shots, specially that they put a curve ball into that 10 second first impression that I initially made.  I also loved that both sets show different parts of Pierre, both physical parts, and parts of his erotic identity.
