Chris Williams: Never Giving Up

'A bulldog does best in a loving environment, free from fear and neglect. He is happiest when there are people around. Left alone, a bulldog (like any other breed) can be destructive.'

Back in 1998 when Chris Williams was just 19, he was going through some tough times. With no direction, Chris got into trouble and ended up in prison for a year. It was when locked up that Chris discovered that there was something about him that others found attractive. It was also while in prison that the he acquired the nickname Meat Pistols. Determined to turn his life around, stay out of trouble and make a good living for his family, when Chris got out, he began dancing at one of the local clubs in New Orleans. Right off the bat, people gave him the name 'bulldog' because of his tattoo.

'The bulldog loves people and the attention people give him. As a rule, he is a good, quiet companion. He does not necessarily make the greatest watch dog for this reason, although his looks alone will tend to deter any potential intruder.'

'To me, the greatest attributes Bulldogs bring to the table are its courage and its amazing capacity to endure pain. The perfect Bulldog must be of medium size and smooth coat; with heavy, thickset, low-swung body, massive short-faced head, wide shoulders and sturdy limbs. The general appearance and attitude should suggest great stability, vigor and strength. The disposition should be equitable and kind, resolute and courageous (not vicious or aggressive), and demeanor should be pacific and dignified....The tat reminds me how much cowboy is in me every time I look in the mirror..'

'Exercise is important for a bulldog to build stamina and prevent obesity, but don't overdo it, particularly when it is hot or humid.'

As both a model and a dancer, Chris has made good living over the past decade with his body on exhibit. I am sure you will agree there is something organically sensual that comes through in his images. Maintaining his physique is a full time job and Chris has certainly learned how to achieve and maintain results. With all the questions and requests for help from others Chris is beginning bulldogtactics101. The site will be based on Exercise Physiology/ Kinesiology/ Nutrition and maintaining an optimal level of fitness. Chris is currently in the process of completing his American Council on Exercise certification. (ACE).

I love getting to know to know those I profile on FH and I loved getting to know Chris Williams. With refreshing honesty, Chris is open about his past, introspective and self aware about how it shaped him as a man. I greatly admire how he has turned his history, his circumstances, into goals, challenges and a direction for success.

It was through working on previous 'Sundays With Hans' posts that I discovered Hans work with Chris Williams. For those of you who know Hans work, it is unapologetically direct, erotic and sexual. I could tell right away there was something special about Chris and his shots were so hot, so unique I wanted to share them on FH. Thank you as always to Hans for sharing your work with FH!

Blake Logan by Chris Ian Garlington

Did I mention Blake Logan is also modeling. Blake has done some runway work for both Nike and Puma and has a wonderful portfolio courtesy of photographer Chris Ian Garlington.



I first discovered Chris's work earlier this year and posted a great shot he did of Lee Williams as a pic of the day. Chris is an interesting guy and it was fun to get to know more about him through his site.

Chris Ian Garlington covered breaking news for local & national TV stations including CNN, The Weather Channel, WKMG, WFTV, WESH, WOFL, CFN13, The New York Times, and more. Chris was a stringer in Orlando from August, 2004 until June 2007. Before that, Chris was a stringer in the Philadelphia suburbs from 1996 to 1999. Chris moved to Los Angeles in June 2007 to pursue filmmaking and is currently a photographer, filmmaker and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles.



I love Chris Ian's shots of Blake. The shots show Blake in a wide variety of lights including fun loving, venerable and of course sexy. In looking at more of his the work 'alive' kept going through my head. Whether he was photographing children's faces or the lights in Las Vegas there was a vibrancy that sprang from his work which I truly loved. So many photographers seem to use mood and lighting to have models almost look inhuman. Chris Ian's subjects look very much bright and alive.

Chris Ian strives for the best, and has began a blog to spotlight some of the best things he has seen as well as experienced. Chris is able to make the normal look both unique and powerful. My guess is some of this comes from his years as a stringer whose job is to get 'the shot' with very little time or preparation. His ability to zoom in on what is important and hit the essence of his subject is truly a gift. You can check out much more of Chris Ian's work at his site HERE:

Couch Surfing: Chris by JR Williams

I first profiled photographer JR Williams from Island Male Graphics last December. (John Creighton by JR Williams) JR creates memorable images with all of his models, but his work with Chris has generated some of my favorite images of JR's. There is a magic in the chemistry between artist and model which is evident not just in this series, but all of their work together.



Positively striking, Chris has an amazing body and face with transcendent brown eyes. The 20 year old model is Italian, French, Russian, German, Hawaiian, Samoan, Puerto Rican, Greek, and Japanese. Chris, from Kaneohe, Hawaii, is a student as well as dancer and model. Chris enjoys working out and competing in fitness competitions. Chris hopes to eventually combine his talents into working in music videos and film and definitely has the talent and the looks to succeed at both.

A Look Back:

I try to present FH somewhat like a magazine. There is a cover (Pic Of The Day), regular features (Birthdays, Just Because) articles, great shots and feature stories.

Since FH posts almost daily, it is sad to see a profile that a model or photographer and I worked hard on, move quickly to page 2. Sometimes some of the features you see on FH take days and sometimes weeks of collaboration to put together. This is because most of the main features are worked on directly with the actor, model or photographer.

FH has a focus on shining a bit of a light on upcoming artists, many of whom may not getting attention elsewhere. It is those posts, when I work directly with talent that have become my favorite. Therefore now and then I am going to do a sort of 'best of' of some of the original posts and profiles in the hope that even though they may end up moving to page 2,3 or 53...they are not forgotten!
I only went back to August for the post below and as you can see even in those 3 short month there were many amazing men and talent who shared their work with FH!
