As a fan of Steven Spielberg and as an even bigger fan of J.J Abrams I enjoyed seeing Super 8 last Friday. I loved the movie, Spielberg has not hooked into my childhood fantasy's in awhile and it was great to be drawn in again. The 'making' of a movie scenes took me back to the summers I was doing just that. The young cast was superb, especially Joel Courtney and Elle Fanning whose teen romance was beautifully acted. The movie reminded me of movies like Stand By Me and The Goonies who also featured strong young actors. Joel, in his first movie role, shined and I am sure will be around for many years to come.
