12 Days: Chad Michael Murray in The Beach House

It's common for gay kids in high school to crush over straight guys.  Maybe even more so, when if you're still in the closet.  When I went to high school in the 90's, there weren't any kids really 'out', at least not that I knew of.  There were a few girls who called themselves 'girlfriends', but they both ended up married with children.... The only guys to crush over were 'straight', and it was a constant battle to keep those feelings under wrap.

I think many of us have had that fantasy of meeting up with that hot 'straight' stud from high school you fantasied about, and finding out he secretly also fantasied about you.  That's sort of the feeling I get whenever I see a picture or movie featuring Chad Michael Murray.    There is something about Murray, and I know many of you also feel it, that stirs the ole loins every time I see him.

I actually haven't seen much of Murray's work. My crush on Murray was formed through images, mostly through teen magazines from the early 2000's.  I remember his face, often looking like he was stoned out of his tree, and his incredibly tight body.  I remember his many shirtless pin-ups, and his beautiful suckabale nipples.  Those photo shoots and pin-ups were powerful thirst traps, years before the term was conceived and became popular on social media.

I do remember his sexy bad boy Tristin on Gilmore Girls and those hot scenes with Murray in his grey boxer briefs during his short stint on Dawson's Creek. I never got around however to really watching One Tree Hill.  I tried, and I certainly caught his naked basketball walk down the hallway at at school, but I didn't get much beyond that episode early in the show's run.

I did however recently catch a repeat of one of Murray's Hallmark movies, this one, the summer themed The Beach House.  Those high school crush feelings came running back.  No the wasn't a gay storyline, although Hallmark  promises they're coming.  The flick was one of Hallmark's trademark 'coming home' stories.  You know the ones, girl from the big city returns home for a visit, but rekindles a high school relationship and learns her childhood home is where she really belongs.

The Beach House was a tearjerker, although really not that sad.   It was actually quite an enjoyable escape flick, great for summer viewing and provoking dreams of owning a beach house. For the last 9 years, the same group of friends and I have rented a house near, not on, the beach, but this year, it's off due to Covid.  I love waking up to crashing waves and the constant feel of sand in everything.  This film made me both sad about the cancelled trip, while at the same time, acting as sort of a post card to great memories.

Chad Michael Murray is also like a post card, to a time I was younger, and to those straight guys I lusted over.  Murray's sexual charisma has not dimmed a bit for me, and although my connections to his career are fleeting, when I see him, I'm always taken back to when I first saw him, in those many roles and those many shows where he played a high school student.  As hot he was then, for me, he's even hotter now.

12 Days: Chad Michael Murray in Road To Christmas

When Maggie’s secret plan to reunite Danny and his two brothers with Julia during the live broadcast in Vermont goes awry, Maggie is reminded that above all, it is the love for family and friends that makes the merriest of Christmas.

I first fell in lust with the hot 19 year old Chad Michael Murray when he was playing Tristin Dugray back in 2000 on Gilmore Girls.   Tristin was a hottie bad boy at prep school and was seen most in the show's first season.  This was before Jess came along and I always hoped Rory would drop Dean and have a little fun with Tristin.

Soon after his stint on Gilmore Girls, Murray spent 12 episodes romancing many of the women on Dawson's Creek, I think pretty much all the lead character other than Grams.  The show wisely had the hot young actor almost naked in about half of scenes, shirtless, stripping or in boxer briefs.  It was then I first noticed Murray's great chest.  You'll understand from these shirtless shots why I nicknamed him nipples.

The CW obviously saw the appeal of their hot heart throb and a year after completing his stint on Dawson's Creek was cast in the lead on teen high school basketball drama One Tree Hill.  I tried to like OTH, but although I liked Dawson's Creek and loved Gilmore Girls, could not get past more than a few episodes of OTH.

Not watching, didn't mean I didn't pay attention whenever Murray was showing a little skin on the show.  His most famous OTH skinning was the rather daring basketball scene that fans of the show, or just fans of actor's anatomy remember well.

Seeing the promos for Road To Christmas had me thinking back to when I first noticed Murray on TV and back when I was a magazine fiend and enjoyed all his shirtless pin-ups in Teen People and Pop Magazine.  It also had me thinking it was time Chad Michael Murray took a turn in my Actors & Skin feature.  Check out that post below!

Tis, (not quite) The Season!

Whenever I do a post featuring actor Chad Michael Murray, I habitually include images, (like the first two here) from the shoot that introduced me to Chad.  Long before I ever saw him on television, I remember 'meeting' Murray in Teen People.  Although he looks a little stoned in the image above, that adorable face and those large suckable nipples had me wanting see more...

It was awhile before I actually saw Chad in show or movie.  Although I followed him on One Tree Hill due to shirtless caps, and that nude basketball scene, I never ended up watching the show.  I did catch Murry on Gilmore Girls when I finally discovered it years after it premiered.  I binged those first few seasons on DVD and thought Murray's Tristan was far hotter and more interesting than Dean.

Even though he was playing a kid in Middle School, Murray was about 20 at the time and already exuding a sexual intensity unmatched by the cute, but bland Dean played by Jared Padalecki.  I was really missing Tristan until Jess came along to replace him as the shows hot bad boy.  It's become cliche to say a celebrity looks 'better than ever' but for me, with Chad Michael Murray it's true.  He's still exudes that sexual energy and still does it for me, just as it did twenty years ago.  A

I know it's not Christmas, but this week, Netflix released promotional photos for it's Christmas movie, The Merry Gentlemen.  The story finds Ashley, a former big-city dancer, who in order to save her parents' small-town performing venue, decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.  The promo shots look good, and given it's Netflix, might we actually get a wee bit of holiday skin and see Chad in a G-string?  Even if we don't, I'll be checking it out when it premieres on November 20th

I remember back in 2003 watching the first few episodes of One Tree Hill. The net was buzzing with shirtless shots of Chad Michael Murray, especially of the scene, early in the first season, where he was wearing only a couple of basketballs. I quickly lost interest however and stopped watching at about the forth or fifth episode.



Series regular Sophia Bush obviously never heard of the saying 'don't dip your pen in the company ink'. I was surprised recently, reading an article about the shows final season, that Sophia's Bush has been dipped by three of her co-stars. I knew she was married to Chad Michael Murray early in the shows run but did not know she also dated the incredibly hot James Lafferty as well as actor Austin Nichols. According to the article Bush and Nichols recently broke up leaving three of her ex's able to share war stories while hanging out on set.



I have only had one relationship with someone I worked with and the aftermath was not pretty. It was not so much awkward with the person themselves, it was more the fall out amongst our co-workers who were friends with us both. Who you hang out with, support and trust at work can be crucial and break-ups tend to send alignments out of wack. I found it hard to wade through certain relationships (staff meetings were the worst) and it took awhile for things to get back to normal.

If I were a producer Bush's triple co-star hattrick would certainly cause me to pause before hiring her. Not only did she date three of her co-stars, she married one and not one of the relationships lasted very long. Although I can appreciate her taste in men, I suggest Bush expand her dating pool beyond the men who are on salary to spend their days with her.

Actors & Skin: Chad Michael Murray

In Dawson's Creek's fifth season, after shipping the action from Cape Side to Worthington University in Boston, the show was looking for ways to bring a little attention to the show.   Adding Chad Michael Murray to the cast certainly grabbed mine, at least for a little while....

Dawson's Creek had the young actor shirtless or in boxer briefs in about half of the scenes during his 12 episode stint on the show.  The scene below is one of my favorites...

Although he showed a lot of skin on TV when he was younger, it was until 2015, when Murray was in his mid-thirties that he officially did a nude scene, showing his butt in three different projects in 2015, 2016 and 2017.  Let's hope he continues the trend!

Favorite TV Slut of the Day: Chad Michael Murray

Chad Michael Murray is a pretty good actor. He had good turns on Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls before starring in the 'been on too long' One Tree Hill. Murray is a tv slut who has slept with most of the female characters on the WB before it shut down. He has a body made for sex, and he certainly seems to know it. He is an internet fav it seems, but he is a bit overexposed and seems a bit too cocky for me. Not that I would kick him out right away...
