Christmas is a time of getting together with people you haven't seen for awhile, so I can't think of a better time to pop-in on, or pop-up with, model Quinn Christopher Jaxon. It was coincidently back on December 14th, 2011 that I first discovered Quinn's images, and quickly got in touch with photographer, and Quinn's manager Bacchus Stuart, about featuring Quinn, and their work together. I believe FH was one of, if not the first, blog or site devoted to the male form, to feature Quinn's work.

I can't think of a better adjective to put in front of Quinn than Quintessential. Quinn not only has an incredible body, he has a sexy, welcoming face, killer eyes and that great head of shaggy hair. Looks aside, Quinn also possesses the skills and knowledge to know just how to use in body in front of the camera. Also a dancer, Quinn is able to create poses and positions that are not only unique and impressive, but refreshingly and candidly sexual.

After that piece featuring Quinn's work with Bacchus, (Theatrical) Quinn became an internet sensation and the Los Angeles based model was featured on many of the top net's top sites and worked with some of the industries best chroniclers of the male form. I have been lucky to have been able to feature many of those shoots, including Quinn's work with some of my favorite photographers including; Carl Proctor, Chris Teel, Frisky Frolic and James Spada.

Another photographer who quickly became a favorite is San Diego's Steve Jerome. Since first feasting my eyes on, and featuring Steve's work with Charles Dakota last month, (More Than Initially Meets The Eye) I have been looking forward to featuring more of his work. Quinn and Steve are a perfect fit as both know and respect their audience and don't short change them. Steve shares that what matters to him when shooting is the model's personality and willingness to commit to the endeavour. Clearly, both he and Quinn devoted to creating inviting and arousing imagery. 'Quinn is a California find for me. Without a doubt he is a professional in every sense of the word. While it is difficult not to keep your eyes glued to his manhood, you have to admit that he is everything you could want in a model. Very good looking, young, masculine, flexible (he is a dancer), in great shape and on top of all that he comes with an absolutely enjoyable personality. I do not think I've had more fun doing a shoot than I did with Quinn. Because he is a pro I had to give very little direction during the shoot. In addition, he offered his own ideas for poses; he really came to life when we shot in the bedroom...he used the bed frame as a prop for what turned out to be some stunning images. He was eager to show off his athleticism and flexibility and really enjoyed the shoot, which made the time go by so fast it was amazing.'

Theatrical: Quinn Christopher Jaxon by Bacchus Stuart

Now I know I could have simply posted these scorching hot images of Quinn Christopher Jaxon without any text and most of you wouldn't have cared less. But... these images, and the man responsible for them, are part of the reason story is such an important part of FH.

When I first saw images of Quinn, especially the 'Scottish shoot,' I was struck by how dramatic they were. Quinn has classic movie star looks complete with piercing hazel eyes. Quinn has a natural presence, masculine and intensely sexual. Photographer Bacchus Stuart clearly and skillfully weaves his extensive theatrical background within his work. As both an actor and director, Bacchus knows how to work with artists to help them relax and feel safe going to new and daring places.

Bacchus has worked in nearly every part of the theatre, film and television world. For three years Bacchus worked for Broadway Director Joe Layton and has directed plays all over Los Angeles and around the country. In film and on television he has not only acted, but worked as a production coordinator, production manager, and AD on an extensive list of productions. Some of these include; Chasers, Maximum Overdrive, The X Files, Millennium, Lovejoy, The Crow, The Butcher's Wife, Betsy's Wedding and Sleep With The Enemy.

I started doing photography when I was 10 years old. My uncle had a dark room and a 35mm camera, and he taught me how to shoot in B&W and how to process and develop (using all the chemicals) and later, how to alter/shade/shadow photos as I developed them. He also taught me how to do stop-motion photography with an old Bell&Howell 8mm movie camera (I have lots of old film of me trimming trees and the trees grabbing me and garden hoses sneaking up behind me and hanging me from trees).

Through the years, with my acting and directing in the theatre, as well as all my work in film & television, I took lots of photos of different artists that I had worked with. Unfortunately, back in 1999, my house in Wilmington, NC was literally destroyed by a hurricane and I lost all my negatives and most of my photos. I have a few photos left from that period - of Geoffrey Holder, Carmen DeLavillade, Maurice Hines, Helen Hayes and the late Tony & Emmy award winning director Joe Layton. Currently, I am learning how to clean old photos in photoshop so that I can preserve these few remaining pictures.

22 year old Quinn Christopher Jaxon is more than a model he has worked with, Bacchus is also his manager and says Quinn is his best friend. Bacchus manages the dancer and actor and says that Quinn is very giving and makes him laugh like no one else, `My days are always brighter with him in them`.

`He is literally the easiest model I have ever worked with. I think it's all of his dancer training. You tell him to do something and he immediately does it. He loves to show off! - While we were shooting, a friend of ours was sleeping on an old sofa in another room. Now this guy is straight; and Quinn, naked as the day he was born, ran into the other room, jumped on the sofa, and was popping that massive member of his all over this guy, which freaked him out! We were both laughing so hard we were crying. And Quinn, ever the pro, quickly ran back to the set, did a ballet spin and was immediately back into focus and we finished the shoot.`

'These photographs were from our third shoot together and the first time Quinn had ever posed nude, he proceeded to get an erection and it's literally the first time he'd ever had himself photographed in that state!.'

Things We Bury, Things We Hide...

Anyone who has been assaulted, attacked or physically harmed in anyway knows the power of fear. It summons the troops, surrounds you and fiercely battles any attempt you make to accept, understand or move on. It prefers you frozen.

Fear is an interesting emotion, one that more than almost any other can effect changes in behaviour, even if only experienced for a brief moment. One night of terror can rip away and negate decades of feeling safe. We get over love, we get over loss, but our bodies and minds refuse to let us truly ever forget or fully ever get over our fears.

Most of our fears however are not so much based on experience, or things that we have been through. Instead, they are things that we long and plead with ourselves to avoid. Those hidden fears, the ones deep in our gut, the ones that cripple us, are far scarier and much worse than anything Hollywood could ever come up with.

Halloween is about putting those fears, the ones bury, the ones we hide into some sort of a physical form. It is a day we make them something, a monster, an alien, a serial killer, something we can actually fight back from, kill and defeat. In reality we know we actually never will, but for one day, one night... it feels good to try. Happy Halloween!

Although I tried to throw a few tricks into my Halloween postings this year, this one is most definitely more of a treat! Mix together one of my favorite holidays; stir in one of my favorite photographers; add in one of the blogs hottest and popular models ever; a dash of one the most iconic and haunting of Allan's poems and the resulting concoction is a tasty brew indeed.

It has been far too long since Quinn Christopher Jaxon graced the pages of FH but thanks to Chris Teel, he makes a sensually dark return in this Raven inspired shoot on this All Hallows' Eve. When I first saw my first image of Quinn back in 2011 I knew I wanted to feature his work and have covered many of his shoots on his rise to becoming one of the most sought after and popular male models. When Chris and Quinn got together recently in Toronto, especially with Halloween approaching, a conceptual themed shoot was in order!

'Quinn has been in a horror movie so I knew we'd be able to draw upon his acting skills to convey the right mood for each concept. I love the humour combined with the sexiness of the shoot. Quinn is a genuine guy, really personable. He seems to have a certain wisdom for someone as young as he is and he seems so free and comfortable in his own skin. We will be planning another shoot soon and I cannot wait to get him back in front of my camera!'

I feel fortunate that I discovered Quinn Christopher Jaxon and his work with Bacchus Stuart last fall. I think I was one of the first, beyond ModelMayhem to profile him. Since then, the model has appeared pretty much everywhere. Quinn, quite simply has an essence, a raw sexuality that hits you deep and hard in each and every image he inhabits. The model, dancer and actor has quickly became a favorite with both photographers and viewers alike. Others have taken notice of Quinn's talents and he has made appearance on book covers, in movies and is featured regularly in Andrew Christian video campaigns.



Besides Bacchus, Quinn has been shot by some of my favorite photographers, some of which are featured on FH. (HERE:) Someone who also took notice early of Quinn's appeal was James Spada. I have profiled the work of Spadaphoto numerous times on the blog, including last month showcasing his work with David. Literary creations are not new for James. In addition to several photo books, James is also a writer and has chronicled the lives of the rich and famous in five celebrity biographies.



'Quinn is great fun to shoot because he's always up and he's witty. I was shooting him from below as he sat in a chair and he had a huge erection. As I took pictures, I said, "Man, that thing's a tower." Quinn looked at me and said, "If you don't hurry up, it'll be a leaning tower."

James has captured Quinn's quick rise in his new book simply titled Quinn. The book covers five shoots, the second being I think my favorite, featuring images taken from December of last year through the end of February this year.
