Favorite Face of the Day: Dennis Andres

Earlier this year, I featured actor Jonathan Watton who I spotted while watching an episode of the Canadian comedy StraysStrays is the spin-off of the sit-com Kim's Convenience and follows the character of Shannon as she takes over the job of running an animal shelter in Hamilton, Ontario.

In the first season, Watton played Shannon's boyfriend Jeffery, but I caught an episode from the shows second season and there's a new guy in town with his eye on Shannon.  For a split second I thought it was Chris Pratt in a guest appearance, but with a closer look I saw that it wasn't Pratt, but actor Dennis Andres

Some might recognize the German-Canadian actor from his three years on the sit-com Workin' Moms.  Much like Pratt, Andres has also moved back and forth from work on sit-coms and dramas to big screen action movies.

Born in Berlin, Germany, Andres moved with his family to Ontario Canada.  Andres' earned that impressive physique through earning a black belt in Wado Kai Karate and Kickboxing and went on to place 6th in all of Canada for The WKF (World Karate Federation) Nationals at the age of 18.

Workin' Moms (2017-2020)

In High School, Andres was the captain of the football team but had to quit after suffering a number of injuries.  A school counsellor suggested he become a stuntman and introduced him to the school's drama teacher who became Andres mentor, setting Andres up with an apprenticeship at the Players Guild of Hamilton Community Theatre.  From their, acting roles on stage, television and film followed.
