Alvaro in A Perfect Story

Suddenly Everywhere...

I first saw, and heard musician Benson Boone a few years ago.  I think the first song I heard, and still one of my favorites, was In The Stars.  I really loved his voice, and certainly thought he had a unique sexual edge and appeal.

This past week however, Benson seemed to be EVERYWHERE!  On sites and on social media.  Maybe it was his appearance on the VMA's, or maybe it was the shots of him in his stars and stripes undies that he posted on his Instagram....

Regardless of why, it's nice to see this talented singer get his due, and get some appreciation for his body of work.  I'd love however, to see him stripped down even more.  Not necessary out of his undies, but I'd love to see his bare upper lip, stripped of his mustache.  I like it, but whenever I see a hottie with a stach, I fantasize about shaving it off...

Anticipation...

'It's not where you start, it's where you finish...'

I have sort of love/hate relationship with Ryan Murphy projects.  I tend to love the beginnings, but not necessarily the middle and ends.  I loved the first season of Popular.  I hated the second.  I loved the first season or two of Glee, then... not so much.  I loved the first season of Feud, yet had no interest in watching the second.

Other times, like with shows like Rachet, they pull me with a great cast, and fantastic visuals, but the story doesn't hold my interest.  I did tune in to the first few episodes of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, but didn't continue.  I will, eventually.  I loved Evan Peters and Niecy Nash, but my mood wasn't up for the dark subject matter when I tuned in to watch.

All that, I am eagerly anticipating tuning into Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, when it airs later this week on Netflix.  First off, all these later, I'm still fascinated with the story.  Even the last few years, new stories have come out, with so me working to get the brothers released.  They have been in prison over 20 years, and it does seem reasonable to reexamine both the case, and the judgement.

Of course I'm also looking forward to seeing Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch as the brothers.  I featured them last spring when filming started, (HERE:) and am curious to see the results.  I love Koch, and although I never watched Nicholas on General Hospital, he seems destined to be a star. and the promotion certainly has a focus on the homoerotic.  I, like so many other fans of the male form, am also anxiously awaiting to see if Murphy will give us our first view of Chavez's cheeks!

The Fifth Battle: November 18th, 1978

Battle of the Network Stars
Battle V
November 18th, 1978
Hosts: Howard Cosell & Frank Gifford

The Teams:
ABC: Gabe Caplan, (Captain) Debby Boone, Billy Crystal,  Joyce DeWitt, Richard Hatch, Maren Jensen, Robert Urich and Robin Williams.

CBS: McLean Stevenson, (Captain) Valerie Bertinelli, LeVar Burton, Lou Ferrigno, Pat Klous, David Letterman, Tim Reid and Charlene Tilton

NBC: Robert Conrad, (Captain) Joseph Bottoms, William Devane, Pamela Hensley, Brianne Leary, Wendy Rastatter, William Shatner and Caskey Swaim

I had forgotten David Letterman did an episode of Battle.  David didn't participate because he was a host, but because he was a regular on Mary, the Mary Tyler Moore variety show that was on at the time.  Letterman actually participated, (badly) in the swimming relay, but I could not find any speedo shots.  He work track pants on the podium, and was seen mostly after that, in the water.

Robert Conrad and his bulging speedo returned to captain the NBC team, leading them on to a win.  It was also great to see Robert Urich, who was such a beautiful man, taken far too soon.  There were many contestants I had not heard of, most notably Caskey Swaim, a name I'd never heard before.  Swaim was on a TV show I also never heard of, named Project UFO.

Hatch & Urich

The show gave a better view of the swimming participants then they did in Battle four.   Too bad they were so quick, I would have loved to have seen a better view of many, especially Tim Reid.
