Earlier this year, I began a new series looking back on each of the editions of The Battle of the Network Stars. (HERE:) The celebrity competition began in the fall of 1976, with the second battle airing February 28th, 1977. This edition aired under the title Challenge of Network Stars. The show later returned to using 'Battle' which it kept for the remainder of the series. The only battle going on in these shots, was Richard Hatch and his battle of the bulge....
