Jayk: Primal Reactions

It's always refreshing when a model who poses naked embraces it with the level of joy that Jayk Knight does.  Even working on FH for over a decade now,  I am still surprised when some models who pose nude seem uncomfortable discussing what they do.  I am even more surprised when that uncomfortably comes from a photographer.

I understand that artists, either in front of, or behind the lens, may not want to be labeled as a'nude model' or 'nude photographer', this could be limiting, and cause some to think that's all they shoot. Although I get that having 'nude' or 'naked' in front of your job title, could illicit certain responses, it is also nice when those precise reactions, deflected by some, are warmly welcomed by others.

Given he's not just a model, but also an artist, dancer and stripper, audience reaction is crucial, and a big part of the fun of his job. Whether it's that couple in the front row while he's stripping, or likes and comments on Instagram, reactions, especially those primal ones, are welcomed by Jayk. I certainly had a primal reaction when recently featuring one of Jayk's shots from photographer Mike Tossy. When working on the piece Adonis Aquarium earlier this summer, Mike's shots of Jayk were some of my favorites, so much so it was Mike's incredible shot of Jayk lifting himself from the pool that I used as pic of the day.

Someone's in the kitchen with...

Jayk shares he loved working with both Mike and Mark (StudioMGPhotography) earlier this year, and spent a few days shooting in and around their beautiful home. Jayk shares that given he was going to be shooting naked most of his three days there, he didn't even bother bringing any clothing with him when he visited. Jayk says he would jump at the chance to shoot with both again and loved their different shooting style. Although I didn't know it when putting together the piece featuring Mike's images, this wasn't the first time that I'd featured Jayk on FH...

Back in 2013, I presented a series of shots from photographer Ted Sun featuring a nude modeled slathered with honey. (A Taste of Honey) Whenever I think of those shots, in addition to thinking how sexy Jayk looked slathered in honey, I also wondered how long it took to to be sticky free. When I get even a drop of honey on my finger, it seems to take great effort to completely clean it off, but Jayk says the honey was surprisingly easy to clean off.

One of the reasons I didn't connect the honey coated Jayk with the Jayk in the pool was because of the difference in his appearance. Jayk says he's gained almost 30 pounds since his shoot with Ted, changing almost every inch of his beautiful body from the shape of Jayk's face to the degree of his booty bodaciousness.

The increase in butt bounty certainly grabbed my attention, and obviously many others given how many hot butt shots Jayk shares on his Instagram and tumblr. Given how many great self shots Jayk has taken, except for the shots with Mike near the top, all of the others shots in this piece are self shots, created by Jayk himself.

Who or what got you started with modeling?
'Actually, I started taking photos of myself during community college just for fun, and it evolved from there. I later worked with artists and photographers.'.

'What has been your favorite experience modeling thus far?
Well I am not a *professional* model, just so people know. But I love hearing an artist's point of view and perception of me. My favorite shoots are outside. Especially in water or swimming pool, rocks and trees, or abandoned structures.'

The first time you were on FH, you were slathered in honey. Was this the wildest concept a photographer has requested?
'Yes, I was covered in honey, it was right after another photographer had cut all my hair off so I was "brave" going into it, but honey comes off easily, as it turns out. I loved shooting with Ted. Um it was definitely memorable. I always tell photographers I am open to try stuff and figure out as we go. I do get requests to cut or grow my hair. Usually nothing too wild.'

Is there a photographer you would really love to be shot by?
'Ohhhhh so many. Of course a few in other countries. I'm a big admirer of the art of photography in general.'

Which came first, modeling or stripping/dancing?
'Modeling, I guess, since I started doing self portraits. But I am a professional Gogo and stripper, not a professional model. They definitely inform each other though. Photographers like dancers. Dancers like photographers.'

What factors did you weigh before deciding to take it all off?
'Well to be honest I never took anything into consideration! As far as being a Gogo and a stripper, it was one of my new year's resolutions. It looked fun and I wanted to do it, so I did it.'

You posed nude for photographers and artists, have you ever posed for a group or art class?
'Yes I have posed for classes at the LGBT center in Hollywood, and for the Tom of Finland foundation, which I would absolutely do again. Male models are not in super high demand for classes as far as I've seen. I would be willing to pose at LACC or CSUN though. Or any gay artist group.'

JayK: All The World's A Stage

'I'm just more comfortable without clothing.'

For those like JayK, most comfortable sans clothing, the last year and half hasn't been as easy as one might assume.  Sure, lockdowns provided plenty of opportunities to be naked, gut usually at home and often alone.  JayK's ease and enjoyment with being naked however, extend far beyond just hanging out nude at home and binge watching  Stranger Things and The Crown

JayK thrives off being watched, and the reactions of an audience, especially a live audience.  As a dancer and stripper, the lockdowns meant most of the venue's he worked in were shut down for most of last year.  On the plus side, JayK found creative ways to nakedly express himself and interact with others. According to Shakespeare, All the world's a stage, and JayK managed to perform in in some very unique, and sometimes very public venues. 

In addition to performing on stage for large groups, JayK also worked for smaller, private parties and groups.  After the initial lockdowns were over, JayK was able to resume working with smaller groups, including some on-line private strips.  He was also able to put time into his OnlyFans page, with extra content and shows.  You can check out a few snaps from a recent shower show on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

JayK also had extra time for naked walks in the woods, naked bike rides and naked late night strolls around his neighbourhood.  Thankfully for us, Jayk took lots of snaps on his outings, and shared many of his naked adventures with viewers of FH!  

'I often get asked about nudism. I always answer that I don't consider myself a nudist. I feel like that's more of a lifestyle and a philosophy...but for me. I'm just more comfortable without clothing' 🤷🏻‍♂️

A Taste Of Honey: Jayk by Ted Sun

'I wanted to work with Jayk because he was interesting; he was a model with a clear passion for art, and I love collaborating with other creative-minded people. I could tell that he would be open minded to playing with different ideas.'

The first image that I viewed from photographer Ted Sun was the Masquerade themed image of Jayk I used for pic of the day. Although I have seen many images with masks and the masquerade theme, there was something about this shot that had me looking for more of Ted's work. The artistic elegance weaved within the mysterious eroticism associated with masquerade, blended together to create a striking image. The masquerade theme was the first series of nude images Ted shot. Although he shot a few other models for the series prior to Jayk, Ted says that he gave the most unusual pose which he really loved.

Ted took his first photography class while in college at Princeton, but it was his 5 years of travelling the globe, that cemented his passion for sharing images. After travelling to over 70 countries, on 7 continents, you can only imagine what visual wonderment's were seen, captured and imprinted within Ted's visual imagination. Would make shooting the ordinary, a difficult task. When he returned from traveling last year, Ted began shooting people, focusing on portraits, shooting fashion/model portfolios, and exploring personal projects where he can really push himself creatively.

When pushing yourself creatively, it helps to have a model equally eager to push the envelope artistically. Los Angeles model Jayk comes from an artistic background and has himself dabbled in most of the arts-; ceramics, drawing, painting, fashion and photography. Ted and Jayk played with different accessories. Ted especially liked the white of the pearls against the light, and Jayk brought some of his own belongings to experiment with, including the thorn-wire crown in the image below. Ted says it was so fun and easy to work with Jayk as they simply bounced ideas off each other, with one suggestion sometimes leading to a new idea.

One idea I especially loved was the use of honey. In the six years of profiling artists for FH, I am pretty sure this is the first time I have showcased images featuring honey. Unlike water, the honey moves slowly over the body, oozing and layering, creating a beautiful texture on the skin. The honey, along with Jayk's poses and facial expressions created a feel of erotic desperation and dramatic final images.

'This was the first time experimenting with honey, and I was excited Jayk was game for it. I learned its a bit tricky to make honey look sticky, but felt Jayk understood the concept with these unnerving body postures.'

JayK: Beating Round The Bushes

It's hard to go anywhere today without being seen.  You can't run into a bank or even a grocery store without being captured on camera.  Gone are the days when one could prank their neighbors on Halloween, or even leave a surprise gift on the doorstep of a relative or friend.  There are camera's everywhere, on most streets, on buildings, and in the doorbells of many.

There are positives about all this 'seeing' of course.  It's easier for police to find criminals, and amateur Columbo's keep watch their front doors and porches for intruders and those trying to steal their Amazon packages.  People can spy on baby and house sitters, and ensure their landlords don't enter their homes without proper notice or justification.  

All this seeing can also be deceiving, with many getting off on the now legalized and sanctioned voyeurism.  We've all heard stories about law enforcement, private  detectives and security guards, getting off on erotic moments in the hours of footage now recorded, watched, and sometimes secretly kept.

Many of us like being seen, but most want a modicum of control, if not over who is watching, but when we're seen.  This is especially true of course, when we're naked and totally exposed.  Although I know their are exceptions, most people don't want to be seen when their not prepared.  When they're at their most vulnerable, or when partaking in certain hygenic centric activities. 

I know from my own personal experience, there are times I've been ok being watched.  I was aware that someone had their eyes on me, and played along, choosing when I went on stage for my waiting audience.  Like most actors, I prepared, making sure I looked my best, and was not only the star, but also the solo performances producer and director. 

That's exactly what JayK did when he discovered a camera hidden in the bushes beside the swimming pool in his condo complex.  JayK has been living in the complex for a few years, and during the days, often has the pool to himself.  It's an adult only building, and most of his neighbors work, so during the week, it's like a ghost town during the days.  JayK usually works nights and evenings, and the pool area, is usually his own private oasis. 

That was however, until a few weeks ago when he noticed the camera.  If it wasn't for Millie, his beloved shih tzu JayK might have never have discovered his afternoon skinny dips were being recorded.  Millie was playing with her favorite toy, her stuffed moo cow, when JayK noticed her crying and doing her 'stressed out' dance, near the side of the pool.  When JayK investigated, he not only found Millie's moo cow, he also spotted the small camera, carefully placed just inside the greenery. 

Initially, JayK wasn't that concerned, he's more than ok showing his body, and assumed it was just a security camera, to keep on eye on vandalism, most likely installed by the building owners.  When he checked however, the building manager shared that there was only one camera installed in the pool area, and that was over the front gate.  It caught views of anyone entering and exiting the pool area, but didn't cover the pool area itself.

JayK, with help from the building manager, decided to do a little of their own detective work.  They decided, that instead of removing the camera, they would obstruct it's view with some greenery, hopefully to entice the camera's owner to return to fix the issue.  Before doing so, JayK decided to put on a show, beating around, and in the bushes, helping to ensure his #1 fan, would be back for an encore.   

It's been a few days now, and thus far, it doesn't appear the camera's owner has returned.  He really didn't need to, as after a few days, the building manager decided to do a sweep of the pool area, and seven other cameras were found in the bushes.  They've all now been removed, and the voyeur is still a mystery.  If he or she is ever uncovered however, I'll be sure to share.

Jayk Knight: All that and the Kitchen Sink

The deliciously exquisite JayK Knight first appeared on FH back in 2013 in a mysteriously hot image from photographer Ted Sun. (HERE:)  Jayk, his beautiful body this time naked and glittery blue, appeared again in 2015 with several images, including the pic of the day, in my feature on photographer Bryan BRYAN RaSHAUN. Last year, while putting together a summer piece featuring photographer Mike Tossy's series of pool shots, Jayk's bountiful booty again rose to the surface.  Jayk also sent along some self shots, my favorites were some addition shots of a wet Jayk in the the deep end. (Last Whiff of Summer)

In this series, All that and the Kitchen Sink, Jayk again proves that if you have the body, and know how to use it, even doing the dishes can be a sexy endeavour.  Especially so, when you know how to pose as elegantly as Jayk and have the sun from the kitchen window, cascading light over your skin.  Some FH readers might remember that in the first few years of the blog, given favorite is a part of the site's title, I often asked models and actors to fill out my FH favorites quiz.  I pulled it out again, curious to read the answers Jayk might send back.

JayK: Wildly Windy

'It was wildly windy when I took these self shots last month.  I set out for a naked hike near Palm Springs and the gusts really picked up once I was out in the desert.'

One of my favorite parts of working on FH is the relationships I've made and the models and artists I've been able to cover over the years.  It's fascinating visually to see the changes in an artist's work, or a model's look as they grow and change. It's also not always just the visuals which change over time, it's also confidence and the attitude and emotion an artist brings to their work.

I first featured model JayK over a decade ago back in 2013. (A Taste of Honey) and have featured his work over a dozen times since.  I've featured Jayk's collaborations with photographers, and his stunning self-portraits, like this series in the desert.  I think my favorite piece was my interview with JayK about his nude work as a model, stripper and nude performer at private parties and functions. I think one of the changes with JayK's work I've noticed the most is his increased desire to get out and shoot beautiful self-portraits in incredible locations.  JayK has shot while on walks and on hikes, even riding his bike.  He's shot in his kitchen, in the gym, in the woods, in caves, on the mountains. As far as what has stayed the same, JayK's beautiful face and bootylicious bottom caught my attention in 2013 and continue to excite and inspire.

'It's always hard to see exactly what I'm getting shooting outside like this because the sun makes it so difficult to see the screen and I have to use the timer. I'm happy with what I got, though. I would love to do things like this much more often.'
