The Pipeline by Greg Lindeblom
A powerful story of love, of identity, of resilience, and of finding family in the most unexpected places.
Gay romance themed books have been around for over 100 years, but have really gained mainstream traction over the last few years. If you've read read all of the hockey player series, or want a story set off the ice, maybe in a warmer, steamier location, check out the new novel from Greg Lindeblom.
FH readers know Greg's work as a photographer of the male form, (HERE:) but over the last few years, he's turned his artist focus towards a different type of storytelling. The Pipeline is set in 1990s Colombia. There is something for everyone. It's part gay romance, part social justice fiction, and part eco-thriller. There are lots of dimensions to the story. Photosmith: Jockstrappers
'I’d gotten used to seeing naked people in our figure drawing classes in school, and being young I wanted to experiment and be “edgy,” so of course I started exploring nudity in my own work. It’s been an ever present theme since.'
Drew
FH viewers know how much I love being able to feature new photographers. Not artists new to photography, but artists new to the site. I've been following Dax, (The Photosmith) for awhile now, and love the visual elements he blends into his work. In addition to creatively constructed images of the male form, Dax also weaves in elements of design, nostalgia, culture and relationship. Relationship as in connection, to the surrounding space, the fashion and in many cases, the other models in the shoot.
For this shoot, Dax brought together three models starting with Drew and Colby. Many FH viewers I'm sure recognize Colby, who previously appeared on the site. (HERE:& HERE: ) Dax had worked with both Colby and Drew few times before, and describes them as lovely humans who are always great to work with. Colby was visiting Chicago, and Dax used the opportunity to a smutty fitness shoot, a themed he's been wanting to explore for awhile. It was Drew, who brought in Ziyad, a fellow model and friend.

The connections explored of course begin with the three models. I find a ternary to be one of the best combinations for unique poses, and Dax captured some fun and erotic scenarios and poses with Drew, Colby and Ziyad. The other connection is between the models, and the viewer with main fashion piece, the jockstrap. Jockstraps have such an interesting history. Invented in the late 1800's, it's original purpose was to provide support and comfort for the genitals for men riding their bicycles on the cities then cobblestoned streets.
Although they've continued to be used in sport for protection and support, they've also become visual symbols for two seemingly different, yet connected cultural communities.. There is nostalgic element to jockstraps given they're connection with athletic masculinity. This was maybe especially so in the 1980's. Even earlier though, going back to the 1950's, jockstraps were adopted by the LGBTQ+ community as a symbol of sexual freedom.
Colby
I love that this powerful piece of fashion that has ties both sports and locker rooms as well as queer culture and fetish. Given it's connections, and it's rich erotic history, it makes perfect sense that Dax would choose the jockstrap as the core fashion piece for his smutty fitness shoot. Since this also the first time I featured the work of The Photosmith, I of course had a few questions about what led him to focus on the male form, and to share a few stories about his experiences thus far.
What led you to photography and a focus on the male form?
I really got into photography in college, I picked it up as a minor. I spent two years doing film photography, and started by shooting quite banal things around campus. That switched pretty quickly over to street photography. The essence of street photography—focusing on capturing authentic moments—still defines a lot of my work. I’d gotten used to seeing naked people in our figure drawing classes in school, and being young I wanted to experiment and be “edgy,” so of course I started exploring nudity in my own work. It’s been an ever present theme since.
Do you remember your first nude shoot?
I remember my first nude shoot, it was actually with a guy and a girl, two college friends of mine. The shoot was a study on the grieving process for a psych class I was taking. My friend Tyler was with me, and he'd done nude shoots before. I was so nervous asking them to get undressed, so he did it for me: "all right you two, strip!" I've found that for nude shoots, just getting undressed is the hardest part—everything after that just flows naturally
Do you have a philosophy that guides your work?
I take my models' comfort and security very seriously, especially when clothes start coming off. I've done all kinds of nude shoots, from maternity and newborn through boudoir and erotic. I've found that my models are almost always extremely pleasantly surprised by the results. I deal with a lot of nerves, but I also start my shoots by setting some ground rules and putting the control of stopping the shoot squarely in their hands. It makes for a great, safe working dynamic.
Any odd or funny stories you can share?
Oh so many, especially with outdoor shoots. I did a nude shoot at the nude beach in Lake Tahoe. The models were standing on some rocks, and a guy started screaming at us from the next beach—which was over 200 yards away. We yelled back that it was a legal nude beach and he eventually shut up. Something similar happened at a nude beach in Barcelona...the models were visible from another beach, and a couple of mothers got extremely affronted. That one we just laughed off because it's legal to be naked there pretty much anywhere.
Channel Surfing
I haven't really been watching much television lately. I've been following The Traitors, mostly to enjoy a dose of Robert Rausch. Not only is he really and hot, he's playing a smooth game. From his fashion and style, (oh those overalls...) to correcting the grammar of his fellow players, he's making the season for me.
In addition to the US produced reality star version, I also watched the UK version. I always prefer the UK version, and this season was one of the best. Other than The Traitors, the only shows that I'm really watching are Jeopardy, and finishing up season 4 of my re-watch of Ugly Betty. There area a few shows however on my 'to watch' list. Some, I see, had some recent notable nudity.
I loved Kit Harington in Game of Thrones, and the last season, (HERE:) gave us a great view of his spectacular butt. He's showing more of his bum on HBO's Industry. I have yet to watch a single second of Industry, but have read good things. Now that there are 4 seasons to watch, it's my planned next binge.
As I mentioned above, I loved Game of Thrones, but I haven't been able to really get into House of the Dragon. I tried, I finished season 1, but don't feel that compelled to continue. I do however, have hope for the recent debut of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Former rugby player Peter Claffey ias Ser Duncan 'Dunk' the Tall, is really hot, and already showing us that rugby built butt of his.
I don't think I watched a full season of a Ryan Murphy show since The Watcher in 2022. I start them, but always bail. I do like many of the cast members in the new drama, The Beauty, especially Evan Peters and Anthony Ramos. There does also seems to be a fair amount of male skin, including this scene featuring Isaac Powell, as the 'post beauty' version of Ben Platt.
Unlike the series noted above, I do watch, and enjoy Bridgerton. I don't however, like the way the split the season in two parts. Like last season, I'll wait until it's all out to watch. I know this season's romantic lead Luke Thompson shows a little skin, but I loved these caps of Daniel Francis as Lord Marcus Anderson . Nice to see Lady Violet Bridgerton finally getting a little somethin' something', and a spectacular somethin' at that!

Six More Weeks? ❄️
Six more weeks? Well, since I'm posting this the night before Groundhog day, I don't know whether Punxsutawney Phil actually saw his shadow or not. Either way, there is still some winter to come, and still more hunks stripping down in the snow. Check out more of my favorites, (all wearing a winter necessity) on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

' I would love to have a real one...'
I've been showcasing holiday themed imagery since the site's early days. Groundhog Day however, only came officially on board in 2019. That's when I asked Tom Nakielski, (Lights On Studio) about shooting something for the February 2nd non-official holiday. If you're a long time FH viewer, you know Tom has incorporated animals into many of his shoots. Over the years, there have been several bunnies, and broods of baby chicks.
For Groundhog Day, I initially asked Tom about doing something with shadows, I didn't think an actual Groundhog would be in the mix. Still, Tom was determined. He put on a call on Facebook to see if anyone in his area had a groundhog as a pet. As you might have guessed, Tom didn't get any responses. He then put out a call for real, but taxidermy version. Still no response. It was then I discovered there were all kinds of cute and furry stuffed versions on Amazon.
With Michael Moody, one of my favorite models on board, the shoot was set. If you saw the original piece, (HERE:) you might remember that after spending a days in a box in transit, that rodent arrived both ready, and really randy. Although Michael was dapperly dressed as the toastmaster, the Groundhog was soon using his teeth to try to undress poor Michael. Thankfully, Michael was able to use his strength, and sword fighting skills, to fight off the monomaniacal mammal.
Over the next few years, Tom brought the Groundhog out of it's box to terrorize another 3 other models, all, who also had to fight off the furry one's advances. Last year, with Tom not able to shoot, the furry fellow was boxed off and sent to meet up and shoot with Lucerys. (HERE:) Lucery's seemed to become the Groundhog whisper, with the rascally rodent puddy in his hands, and his pelvis. Instead of shooing the rodent way from his genitals, Lucerys allowed him to explore. This seemed to calm the little cutie down.
After an altercation with Lucerys dog however, I believe over both wanting to mark their Lucerys territory, the rodent had to again leave his home. This year, he flew to Texas to live with another Tom, this time Tom from TR Pics. The hope, was that the furry little fellow would begin his retirement in a warmer, and sunnier local. As you may know though, Texas has been hit with a cold snap, so the randy rodent was put back at work. Not only once again predicting the length of winter, but also posing with two new hot and naked snacks. Check out Randy's shoot with Axel below, and Alby on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

'Live your life like there's no tomorrow...'
When it comes to Groundhog Day, there's still only one definitive film, the 1993 hit starring Bill Murray and directed by Harold Ramis. Over the years, I've featured the film, the cast, even the Broadway production based on the film. When it comes to the silly February 2nd faux holiday, there really isn't much material to draw from.
I featured a few television shows with Groundhog Day themed episodes, but usually I return to the theme from the 1993 film, the genre of films based in a time loop. A character repeats the same day, again and again, until the lesson they need to learn sinks in. This year, when looking for a time, or temporal loop film, I came across the 2017 psychological drama, Before I Fall.
In Before I Fall, the bratty Sam (Zoey Deutch) leads a charmed life. She's beautiful, has a great house, a wealthy family and wakes up to it being February 12th, Cupid day at school. The day boys secretly, or not secretly send roses to the girl's they crush over. Turns out, Cupid day, could be Sam's last.
As we quickly learn, Sam is stuck reliving her last day over and over and struggles to untangle the mystery around her death and discovers everything she's losing. If I didn't mention already, Sam is part of a pack of mean girls, who we learn are partly responsible for pushing another student over the edge. Sam also has a boyfriend, and is planning on having sex for the first time with him that night.
When the bad boy boyfriend Rob appeared on screen, I did an instant 'who dat?' I'd never seen Kian Lawley in anything before. Turns out, many fans of the male form are familiar with Kian, not for his work as an actor, but for his role as a Youtuber and Vlogger. Kian through his Youtube channel, Kian has been collaborating with others, (most notably JC Caylen) since 2010.
Lawley and Caylen are maybe most well known for producing The Reality House, a popular Big Brother-style competition web series. Launched in 2019, the show features various influencers competing in challenges for a cash prize (up to $50,000–$100,000 in later seasons). Although I had not heard of the series, it seems it's very popular with millions of views .
Lawley, now a father, and recently engaged, seems have moved beyond his days as a Vlogger. Back in the day however, it didn't take much for him to drop trou for a prank or a bit on his show. Thankfully, fans saved some of his mooning moments.
