Favorite Pic of the Day for December 15th

Lately I have found myself intrigued with the use of windows within shoots. There were a few photographs I posted recently where the specific use of a window turned a good photo into a great one. There are so many things about a window, natural light of course, reflection, seeing out, seeing in, covered and protected, yet completely seen.

There is also something about the thought process one has when staring out a window. One is usually looking at something, or for something. I know for myself when I sit down (usually with a cup of coffee) in front of my living room window, it is either to watch some form of weather, or...more likely it is because something is on my mind and if I have any hope of solving or dealing with it, time in front of that glass is usually the beginning of the process.

Incredible shot by the wonderful and generous Michael Puff.
Please take a minute to visit Michael's website or search FH for more of Michael's work.

FH Readers:
Been fighting (and losing) my battle with the flu the past few days so posting has been down, hope to be back to normal soon.

Keep an eye for Model Search 2011 voting to resume later tonight!

Happy Birthday Today December 15th

Happy Birthday today December 15th to:

Actor Brendan Fletcher turns 29 today.

Actor Adam Brody turns 31 today.

Rooney's drummer Ned Brower turns 32 today. Ned was one of my favorites from the amazing Greg Gorman book 'As I See It'.

Truly one of my favorite hunks, Will Wikle turns 32 today.

Geoff Stults turns 33 today.

Talented actor and director Stuart Townsend turns 38 today.

Note: This is a privious Birthday on Don, but thought I could not do better than what I already posted.

For some reason, I never got into Miami Vice. Maybe because I was still a kid when it aired and not allowed to watch it. Maybe because my parents were watching Dallas on another network, and I was forced to watch Dallas if I was home, and then grew to enjoy it. I did however always have a major crush on Don Johnson, especially the young Don Johnson. Now don't get me wrong, Don is still a great looking guy, but when in his late teens through this late 30's, Don had a look, I cannot explain it, his face, his body something that when I saw early pics of him drove me wild. Happy 61st Don!!!

Above: Don in 'The Harrad Experiment' (1973).

'Fortune and Men's Eyes:
In 1969, a 19 year old Don Johnson starred on stage in the LA production of "Fortune and Men's Eyes", a drama exploring homosexuality behind bars. Quite a subject matter for 1969. The play was directed by actor Sal Mineo who also starred along side Don. The following are some pics from the Play.

Above: Program pics from "Fortune and Men's Eyes" via Norma Harding from The Official Sal Mineo Website, a great place to learn about this talented actor.

Tim Conway turns 77. (Will Mr Tudball ever make it to DVD???)

Zalig Kerstfeest From Gert Kist

I love sand and beaches as much as the next person but...
When it comes to Christmas I like to be where there is snow. I have never understood those in North America who travel to Florida, A Cruise, Mexico or some other hot destination to celebrate the holidays. I am sure many of you (a couple in particular, you know who you are) who would like nothing better than to be in the hot sun on Christmas morning, but I will take my Christmas with skiing, snow boarding and sledding. I shall sweat the old fashion way!

If I were to travel over Christmas, Europe is where I would head to. A Charles Dickens London trip, maybe Germany, France or Switzerland. But...if I had my choice my number one Christmas destination might just be The Netherlands. Seems to me when I was a kid there were so many Christmas specials with Dutch toys and St. Nicolas and of course Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas is actually the origin of the mythical holiday figure of Santa Claus in the United States and the rest of the world. Sinterklaas is a traditional Winter holiday figure in the Netherlands and other countries that was actually celebrated last week with Saint Nicholas' eve on the 5th of December. The celebration includes a feast honoring Saint Nicholas, patron saint of children, sailors, and the city of Amsterdam.

It is through this lens photographer Gert Kist photographs his holiday themed shots. Gert, who is based in Amsterdam specializes in glamour and nude photography which he displays on his site Malemodel.nl. I first saw Gert's holiday themed shots last Christmas and wanted to share more on FH. Of course if you check out MaleModel.nl you will see more than just holiday shots, Gert has an extensive Glamour, art and erotic series as well.

Thanks Gert for sharing your shots with FH!
