A Private Pavilion: Sam & Robbie by Brenton Parry

'It's not an explicit shoot but a relaxed male nudity vibe with two beautiful men who clearly had a connection.'

I know many of you are familiar with the work of Sydney based photographer Brenton Parry.  Long time FH readers may remember my featuring Brenton's work many times in the past. (HERE:)  Many I'm sure, also remember Brenton's old blog Aussielicious.  I still miss Aussielicious, not just because of it's content, but because it was one of several sites that inspired me to create FH.

Although I still miss his blog, the end meant Brenton was able to focus more on his passion for capturing the male form.   I've continued to enjoy seeing what Brenton visually creates on his social media pages, as well as sites that allow him to show his more explicit work without those nasty social media censors.

I was thinking about Brenton this past summer while I put together a piece on Australian lifesavers and rowers. (On Duty)  As a former rower himself, Brenton has worn the tiny speedos, and also, what a tough sport it can be. I think it was Brenton and Aussielicious that first introduced me to the hot and hunky Australian rowers, and the unique way they wore their speedos while rowing....

When I recently asked Brenton about sharing another shoot, he sent back this set, one the his  favorites.  It instantly became one of my favorites as well.  I've written many times about my struggles with photos featuring two or more men.  Most, tend to go for the sexual elements, which is great.  I just find many of them quite one-dimensional, ignoring the more multi-faceted and and complex dynamics between two or more men.

My favorite 'couple' shoots are sensual, but not necessarily sexual.   Most of the images of the nude male form I feature on the site are rooted in sensuality, but to me, not necessarily in sex.  Now I know that beauty, and of course sex, are in the eye of the beholder, so almost any visual, regardless of how tame or explicit they may be, can be sexualized.  I however, prefer images of couples to rooted in an emotional bond, and in the case of Brenton's work with Sam and Robbie, in connection.

Brenton, as I stated above, describes this duo shoot as one of his favorites.  The two men are Sydney model and digital creator Sam Holister, and New Zealand Olympic Rower Robbie Manson. Although Sam and Robbie had met briefly previously, this was their first shoot together.  Brenton shares that the day of the shoot also happened to be Sam's birthday, and that Sam really seemed to really enjoy his day and getting to work with Robbie.

'Working with guys who have very different approaches to shoots was fun. Sam likes to be more spontaneous and less posed where I think Robbie likes a bit more direction so striking a balance between just letting them do their thing while giving them prompts and asking them to do things again to get the shots was a great challenge for me.

This was also one of the first shoots I was specifically shooting a lot of video content on and I have to say that video is something I'm very proud of. It's not an explicit shoot but a relaxed male nudity vibe with two beautiful men who clearly had a connection.'

If you want to see more of Sam, and much more of Robbie, you can check out more from this shoot on Brenton's OnlyFans and Patreon Sites.  There's also the video Brenton mentioned that you can preview by checking out Brenton's Youtube page HERE:

Graphicly Designed: Leonardo by Brenton Parry

'Leonardo has such a beautiful energy about him and I hope I went a little way to capture that in his images.'

The job of a Graphic Designer basically comes down to conveying a message. Visually assembling together imagery, artwork and words in a concise and creative way that best tells the story and represents the subject or product in focus. Even as a kid, photographer Brenton Parry remembers that when others were slapping paint around recklessly on their canvas, he was always more focused, more precise, giving attention to the smallest of details.

Brenton's site Aussielicous has been bookmarked on every computer and lap top I've owed and a big inspiration for my starting FH. Aussielicous is a welcoming place where Brenton shares not only his thoughts and life experiences, both personal and professional, but also visually shares with viewers his love being naked whenever, and how often he can. Brenton also shares his work behind the camera and his passion for photography.

Like his work as a graphic designer, Brenton's photography is often focused on the detail. If you check out my previous pieces featuring Brenton's work, (HERE:) you can clearly see the influence of design and Brenton's attention to his presentation of detail, and his deliberate uses of lines and placement color weaved together to best showcase the subject in focus.

Brenton's images are visually powerful and always have me stopping to zoom in on the design and detail he has captured. When I recently scrolled by a post on his site titled Bohemian Rhapsody!, I knew instantly the photographer had met a designers dream. Leonardo is himself a beautifully designed masterpiece. His beautiful body and incredible long curly hair are striking and Leonardo's eyes.... they pierce like an erotic injection, a hit of ecstasy without any of the nasty side effects.

The Harder the Struggle,
The Greater the Triumph

I can see why Brenton was drawn to Leonardo, even his tattoo's are perfectly placed and designed. This makes sense when you know that Leonardo is himself a tattoo artist, who, like Brenton, was involved and invested in every detail and line of ink adorning his beautiful canvas of skin. Brenton approached Leonard on Instagram after he had liked a few of Brenton's images and started following him. Leonardo had never done a professional shoot before and was a little nervous at first. As you can see from Brenton's images, Leonardo worked through those nerves, and if you read his tattoo's, you know he heads towards, not away from risk,

'I make no secret of the fact I develop a crush on some of my models. Some I lust after, some I laugh with and the (thankfully) rare one I barely tolerate. Today was a crush kind of day. Leonardo is a 23 year old Italian traveller enjoying exploring life here in Australia. He’s a tattoo enthusiast and aspiring tattoo artist. He’s also a surfer and a bit of a hippy, free soul. Having never done a photo shoot before, he said yes when I asked. He even has “One life, one chance” tattooed on his knees.'

'Leonardo isn’t the type of guy that I usually go for at all. I’m not a massive fan of a lot of tattoos or piercings but there is something incredibly sexy about Leonardo. His vibe is very chilled, relaxed and open to whatever life brings his way. It’s that attitude that he brought to the shoot. Happy to do full frontal it was just something that he thought he was being given the opportunity to do so why not? All of this definitely meant that I had a crush on Leonardo by the end of the shoot. In two weeks he is leaving Sydney and embarking on new adventures. I’m certainly glad that he agreed to do a photo shoot with me.'

If you check out Brenton's shop page HERE:, he has compiled a downloadable booklet 'Bohemian' celebrating his work with Leonardo and his hippy, surfer vibe. You can also get in contact if you want a print of any of the images Brenton has included within the booklet.

And Where He Goes I'll Follow: Lucas Glover by Brenton Parry

I have featured the work of Brenton Parry a number of times on FH. One of the reasons I love showcasing Brenton's work is that I closely 'follow' him and his work. In blogger terms to follow is like becoming a 'fan' a blog, you join a list and publicly declare your a fan of the blog. In reality it is more like a sweet reframe of stalking, but given the stalkee is so Aussielicous I shall pay the price.

Following Brenton Parry is a pretty easy task actually, I encourage you all to do so. His blog, Aussielicous, is one of my favorite places to pop into each day, usually as part of my wind down after a long day. Over the years I have followed Brenton as he wrote and shared his relationships, his goal to get fit, his work and this past year his trip to Las Vegas to Burning Man and his first trip to New York. I have followed him writing about pop culture and of course all the beautiful men he shares.

Brenton is not only a talented writer/blogger he is also a gifted artist and this past year he launched Shrouded, his first solo exhibition. When I saw these shots of model Lucas Glover it was no surprise Brenton was on the other end of the lens. Brenton excels with Black and White and has a special talent for blending body with environment. It would be an impossible task to choose which is more perfect, Lucas' incredible body or the rocks and water that surround it. This shoot was done on the rocks next to Lady Jane beach (also known as Lady Bay) a nude beach near the South Head of Sydney Harbour.

'It was a bit of a hazy day but it had some nice light. Lucas isn't a shy boy at all and was happy to strip off. We had been chatting for a while and the only motivation was to get shots that he didn't already have in his portfolio.

He works really hard at keeping his body in good shape which is pretty evident. He was ridiculously ripped. It's great working with someone who is comfortable nude and a dancer is even better as they really know how to move their body.'

Brenton Parry

There is not really a better description than 'ridiculously ripped' to describe Lucas' body, especially his chest and stomach. Lucas, who had been working in Europe is back home in Sydney after being away for nine years. You can check out more of Lucas' portfolio on Model Mayhem HERE:

A Boy in Bed: Kyle by Brenton Parry

'It’s very rare for me to have a guy as beautiful as Kyle in my bed. On this occasion it was purely for photographic purposes.'

I first noticed, and  began following, fellow blogger Brenton Parry after seeing some of his nude selfies, including a great nude on the steps of the Sydney Opera House.   Brenton's site, (Aussielicous) has become of my favorite sites to check regularly check out.  Although it's Brenton's self shots and writing that initially drew me to his site, it's Brenton's increased focus on his photography that's become one of my favorite parts of my regular visits.

Last month, Brenton introduced readers to his work with Kyle, a model he'd first seen when he came across an image on a networking site.  Through following each other on Instagram, Brenton and Kyle were able to create some opportunities to get work together.  Brenton first featured his work with Kyle in a series entitled Blue Skies, a series of shots of Kyle on the beach, one of which I used as today's pic of the day.

A few weeks later on Christmas Eve, Brenton gifted Aussielicous readers with this series, A Boy in Bed.  Both shoots were completed on the same day and both, Brenton shares were completed quickly with both done, and lunch eaten, but about 1 pm.  Brenton attributes the quickness and ease in large part due to Kyle being a complete professional who knows exactly what he's doing in front of the camera.  You can check out more of Brenton's work with Kyle, as well as more of his recent photo sets available to purchase and download on Brenton' site HERE:.

'Kyle has a bunch of tattoos now in an ever increasing collection that he didn’t have when I first came across his images but they really suit him and they certainly weren’t a problem for the shoots we did. They are fairly simple shoots, no fancy concepts here. One we did down at the nude beach and one was him in a bed. Both locations suit him down to the ground and he looks comfortable and beautiful nude. To be fair he could be just about anywhere and his infectious smile would brighten up the location.'

Tribe by Brenton Parry

'Shot over 15 months and featuring 12 different models, TRIBE eplores the human need to fit in and belong to a tribe. Every culture has their own beliefs and rituals and every culture has subcultures.'

Congratulations to artist and fellow blogger Brenton Parry (Ausielicious) for his creative and inventive exhibition launch this past weekend. I was away on Sunday and therefore a bit late to the party, but I love Brenton's fresh and contemporary on-line unveiling of Tribe!  Tribe features 12 models in 11 different shoots featuring bodypaint, horns, sticks and clay in minimalist photos with moody lighting. One of those models is Fabien Ardoin, a 23 year old French model who tragically passed away in an accident two months after the photo shoot.

I love the raw, erotic and ritualistic feel to Brenton's new work. Brenton's use of color and tribal wear creates a contemporary feel with an equally powerful nod to the past. Although the launch is over, the exhibition continues on Brenton's site. You can check out his entire Tribe series and even on a piece of your own by checking out Tribe HERE:

Haunted by Brenton Parry

'Early in the year, one of my more popular models Tom asked me if I’d be interested in collaborating on a book/download project to raise money for a cause close to his heart.'

Although October on FH means Halloween themed posts, HAUNTED, isn't about ghosts or witches, or things that go bump in the night. It is however about something that often keeps many up at night, and something far more difficult to exorcise than your average spirit or demon.

Tom knows a lot of people suffering from PTSD and came to Brenton about collaborating on a project that eventually became HAUNTED.  The new book/download was created with the goal to raise both money and awareness for charities that help to treat people living with PTSD. Brenton or course said yes, not only because of his respect for Tom, but also because of the cause.

'Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition that affects people who have experienced a traumatic event.People who suffer from PTSD may experience traumatic flashbacks of the event, anxiety, nightmares, aggression, emotional numbness, avoidance and a host of other debilitating symptoms. For every sale of this book, the funds are being donated to organisations which help people deal with PTSD, including Beyond Blue, Fearless and Phoenix Australia.'

Tom has also released the book in hard cover through Blurb. So you have some options. All proceeds will be going to the charities so whether you want to buy the pdf download that I’m selling (HERE:) or you want the hard cover version (HERE:), please support this cause and see if we can’t make a little bit of a difference!
