Defying Gravity...

'Yes I can drive a stick!'

I love the story of the witches stairs.  I first read, and saw images of the stairs a few  years ago.  The urban legend is that the stairs were built in 17th-century Massachusetts, during the Salem witch trials, to ward off witches.  It was said that witches could not walk up the particular sequence of steps.  

Of course since witches can fly, the legend didn't make a whole lot of sense.  It did however, make a whole lot of fun.  The stairs were actually made in an attempt to save space.  I'm guessing there were more than a few Puritans who had some nasty falls.   Maybe the witches did have a hand, or a spell, on their design...
