The Exorcist: Coda
Get down, get dirty, and get dead!
Every year, as October approaches, I start planning for Horror Hunks. What movies, what actors I want to spotlight during the spooky season. Every year, I run out of time to feature them all. I do start a folder to save for the future, but there are a few that I complete, that I still want to share. This past year, I looked back at the iconic 70's horror film The Exorcist, and found a nude scene from actor Jason Miller who played Father Damien. (HERE:)
I had planned on also posting this piece on the day, but ran out of time of space. But... when you find a movie called The Disco Exorcist, with multiple actors in nude scenes, you can't tuck it away for the next year. The film is a hoot, low budget and blood and skin filled. Despite the title, this isn't a 70's, or even an 80's film, but was made and released in 2011.
Although I wouldn't exactly say this is an LGBTQ+ film, director Richard Griffin does have several LGBTQ+-themed and queer comedy films on his resume. Griffin once stated in an interview that he makes "films I would have wanted to see as a 17-year-old... a gay sex comedy at 2 AM on Cinemax! When it comes to art, the first hit is usually visual. With great art however, what follows is an emotional response as well. Adjectives are important when describing any piece of art. When it comes to FH, and visuals of the male form, I've used a plethora of adjectives over the years. Many, including words like 'hot' and 'sexy' are focused on that the initial visual hit. Because we're bombarded with so many visuals when on-line, we often stop at the visual, then scroll on by. It's rare that image has us stop, linger, and appreciate how the visual makes us feel.
