Mother of them All!
'We all go a little mad sometimes...'
Long before Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers were born. Long before Ghostface, Chucky, Leatherface or Freddy Krueger were accumulating a body count, Norman Bates was murdering anyone who came before he and his mother. Although I'd known of Alfred Hitchcock, I really didn't get deep into his movies until TCM. I think I remember 1960's Psycho on television as a kid, and remember watching up until the shower scene.
I think Rear Window and The Trouble With Harry remain my favorite films from Hitchcock but I also love Psycho. Every time it, and other favorite Hitchcock films air on TCM, I program them to record, even if I don't end up watching. My only issue with the film is my brain, and how it works. Despite majoring in Psychology in University, I still frustratingly second guess the spelling of most psy words.
Sometime between that first watch on television as a kid, and watch a few years ago, I finally figured out Anthony Perkins was incredibly hot. Reading about his life only made him that much more interesting. I did a previous piece on Anthony which includes caps from La décade prodigieuse. I believe the 1971 film featured Perkins only butt baring scene on film. (HERE:)

Switch & Bateman
I think my mask of sanity is about to slip.
Hero to some, murderous psycho to most. Unlike the other monsters featured today, Patrick Bateman is truly terrifying. All of the others stand out, the lurk in the woods, behind houses and in the shadows. They don't want to be seen, until they're ready to kill. Bateman can pass, he lives in the open, making him far more dangerous than most of those other masked murderers.
