City Men: The Photography of Sergey Sheptun and Richard Rothstein

I first featured this shoot with Sergey Sheptun and Nick by Richard Rothstein back in 2021. The last sets of images Richard sent me on a few years ago all featured Sergey. I especially loved this one as I love how Sergey interacts with other models. I especially love how Sergey and Nick look together and they use pose, and the space to create a story. For me, it's the intimacy of being in, balanced with the interest of looking out.
I was also visually awed by the mood Richard set. Richard is one of the best at utilizing natural light, and in this set, he is equally masterful with shadow. With glimpses of Manhattan visible through the windows, Richard keeps his city as a third element in this shoot, and so many others.
