Andrew Walker: ACTORS & Skin

Although actor Andrew W. Walker began his professional career in 1994. I think I first noticed him in 2002 when he played  Cole Harper in the sit-com Sabrina The Teenage Witch.  Although I didn't really watch the show, as a huge magazine freak, I noticed Andrew in images and remembered him when I first began working on FH.

I first featured Walker in a birthday post back in 2008.  I don't believe he'd started his run in Hallmark holiday films at the time.   in the late 2000's Andrew was mostly working in small films and appearing on television in shows including; ER, The Big Bang Theory and two of the CSI's.  I think Walker's first Christmas movie on Hallmark was 2012's A Bride For Christmas.  

I saw the film a couple of years later and took the opportunity to feature Andrew in a 12 Day piece back in 2014.  The Canadian actor has gone on to film close to 20 Hallmark films, most Christmas, but several marking other romantic holidays throughout the year.  In between playing lonely widowers from quaint small towns, Andrew has taken some interesting, and darker roles in films.  He's also flashed his Canadian back bacon a couple of times.  Check out the SKIN portion of Andrew's Actors & Skin below.

Stalker (2015)

Andrew got his Ryan Phillippe 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' locker room scene in the short-lived 2015 series Stalker.  In the episode, it was Walker being stalked as a high school coach who claims he's being stalked by one of his students.

Back when I first featured Andrew W. Walker on FH, he hadn't done any on-screen nudity except for a quick butt flash (below) in the short film Jill@26.  I found a clip from the film and posted it at the time, but it's since been removed from YouTube.  I searched everywhere, but wasn't able to find it on-line or to purchase.  The only image I have is the small cap below I saved from the clip I once had.

CSI: Miami (2008)

I was never a fan of the CSI's, the Criminal Minds and even the Law & Order's.  I know most seem to love them, but given the state of the world, not to mention my profession, I tend to shy away from films and television shows where humans are raped, tortured and murdered on a weekly basis.  I think it helps me to sleep better.

That being said, I will keep my DVR on alert for this episode of CSI Miami.   In the 2008 episode Cheating Death, Walker plays a tanning butler found in bed, bloodied and murdered next to a housewife prostitute.   I think I can guess what a housewife / prostitute is, but I had to google to find out what a tanner butler was.  Seems like a great job, if of course you don't get murdered.

So, I'm 100% sure the dark flash of penis you see from Andrew's character in 2018's Oxalis was fake, but given you don't often see Hallmark Holiday Hunks in scenes with glory holes, I had to share...

I ordered 2 Bed, 1 Bath from Amazon for Andrew's nude scene, but ended up getting into the  the 2014 supernatural thriller.  In addition to Andrew's shower butt scene featured here, there's also a scene in which he receives oral from a member of the undead.  It's all under the covers so you don't see anything except covers ruffling and the characters terrified face when he finally checks under the blankets.

It was back in 2008 that I began the series 12 Days.  The original intent of the category was to highlight Christmas movies with male nudity.  I was inspired after seeing Nick May in Houseboy, especially the scene featuring some of the actors lying naked under and around the Christmas tree. There was a certain holiday magic with the mix of male skin, tinsel and Christmas lights.

Over the next few years I did one or two pieces around the holiday season, but it wasn't until 2014 that the series really took off, with 15 posts devoted to the theme.  I loved including classic Christmas movies along with modern holiday films and undressing those Christmas sweater actors who appeared within them.

The series took off with the rise of Hallmark Christmas movies.  The Hallmark movies are usually focused on a female lead, with their male counterparts often serve as window dressing.  They always cast a hot male lead and are usually written as caring, upstanding and romantic characters.  Given how angelic most of the male characters are written, it was fun to find other roles where the actor was a little more unwrapped.

The interesting thing about Hallmark movies, is that you don't really have to pay attention to enjoy them.  My mother always had them on when I was back home visiting, and would often catch just a few minutes of one, see an actor I found attractive, and make note to look him up when I had the time.  I often have on at home as background, a movie I can have on, but not have to pay close attention to.  They are almost like music, you can do other things, cook, work, write, and still look up from time to time and still get the gist of the story.

I also love the variety of actors usually cast.  There are new actors on their way up, there are once in demand actors on their way down.  Their is also occasionally a popular established actor, as well as  soap stars, reality stars and more than a few male models in their first role.  I also especially love researching the numerous Canadian actors who frequent Hallmark movies.  Since most of the films are shot in Canada, Hallmark movies are full of Canadian actors and actress's in both lead and supporting roles.

I almost ended the series this year.  It was mother who first introduced me to the Hallmark movie mainly because most of November and December, they were on 24/7 at my parents house.  I so connected them with her, with this being the first Christmas without my mother, I wasn't sure I would feel like turning them on.  But... the goal of most of the Hallmark movies is to comfort, and a couple of weeks ago, that's just what happened when I turned one on.  I liked the male actor, and although only watched or heard) about half of it, found it comforting to have one in the background as I painted the ceiling in my kitchen.  Check out the movie, and the former WB teen idol in the lead on Page 2 HERE:

Canadian Bacon

When have you ever heard anyone say, "Honey, lets stay in and order Canadian food?

No, there may not be many restaurants specializing in Canadian cuisine, but Canada does have a few signature dishes.  Most people have heard of Poutine, but Canada is also famous for it's smoked meat, Beavertails, Tourtière, Lobster rolls, donairs and anything and everything maple.   It's also known world wide for it's bacon, specifically Canadian back bacon, made from Pork Loin, a leaner cut of meat.  Some people love it, others do not, but there's nothing better than a round slab on a breakfast sandwich!

Since this is FH, and we're celebrating Canada Day, there's another slice of Canadian meat that's known world wide.  Of course, I'm talking about the meat on Canadian men, specially male actors.  When Canadian actors are wrote about, they often focus on the comedians.  The many actors of comedy who got their start on Canadian television, and then made their way to the States, or SNL, produced by Lorne Michaels, another Canadian.

SCTV

Canadians love their comedy, the SCTV alumni;  John Candy, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis, Eugene Levy and Martin Short.  Then there's the Kids in the Hall, some of whom, (Dave Foley, Mark McKinney) also made a name for themselves on American sit-coms.  There's also Jim Carrey, Seth Rogan, Will Arnett, Tom Green, Phil Hartman, Matthew Perry, Mike Myers, Norm MacDonald, Howie Mandel, Tommy Chong, Leslie Nielson and original SNL cast member Dan Aykroyd.

Canadians can be serious as well, with acclaimed actors like Donald Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland, Michael Ironside, Keanu Reeves, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Victor Garber and Christopher Plummer also hailing from the Great White North.  Although a certain orange buffoon has tried to put a wedge between them, Canada and the United States have been allies and friendly neighbours going back to the early 1800's.

It makes sense given the two countries have longest international border stretching approximately 8,893 kilometers (5,526 miles) that Canadian talent would head south for work, and international fame.  Many American actors also head north to film in Canada, with some of the world's biggest movies filmed there.  Some of the many films that were shot partially, or entirely in Canada include;  The X-Men movies, The Twilight Saga, Deadpool, Good Will Hunting, The Revenant, American Psycho, Mean Girls, Chicago, Brokeback Mountain and Titanic.
