If you check out my blog on a regular basis you know I love Grey's Anatomy. I love a drama with a big cast I can escape into each week. Yeah it is soapy, yeah it has had it's ups and downs, but overall I always love an hour with Grey's. What makes Grey's so special is that it has an amazing cast that are always given moments. Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, Kevin McKidd, Justin Chambers and Sandra Oh top my list of favorites on the show. I am also a big Izzy fan even though my feelings on the actress are hit and miss.
Grey's season finale sucked me in from start to finish. Even though I should have known who John Doe was, it took me completely by surprise. All the actors shown, especially Chambers who was written many great moments (give the man an Emmy nom!). Even though I have not enjoyed T.R Knight, I was caught up in his storyline. Any show that brings the great Liza Weil on also deserves bonus points! George was a favorite of mine in season 1 and 2 (til the writers and possibly Knight himself tried to make the character into something he was not).
The fans of this show are nuts though. The message boards are full of praise as well as loathing and hate. I guess this is the mark of a passionate fan base. I feel like I am walking into the Twilight Zone when I read some of the stuff written by the Mer and Der fans. There are truly fanatical. This show to me is not about Mer and Der, it is about them all and no matter who you like this past season, they all got a chance to shine.
