Believe...
Believe In Something.
Even if it Means Sacrificing Everything.
Kudos To Nike for choosing Colin Kaepernick as the face of it's new ad campaign. Kaepernick has become the symbol and face of peaceful, and respectful protest, supported by many, maligned and used for political gain by others. We were all taught when we were young, to speak up for what we believe in. To do respectfully, but forcefully. Kaepernick did just that, quietly, gracefully, but dignity and strength.
The response, asinine comments from the orange haired idiot in the White House and the loss of his job and livelihood. Even if it was a business decision, even if it was about money and promotion, Nike reaffirmed for me that those who speak will be respected and rewarded.
The Air on his Skin: Naked Bob by Naked Ambition
'My first foray into nudity was as a child and pre teen in the back yard at night after my parents went to sleep. It progressed into evening walks totally nude so I could feel the air on my skin.'
Naked Bob
Air on the skin, especially the cool late night air, seems to both the feeling, and the draw for many to take off their clothes. I wouldn't call myself a nudist by any means, but Naked Bob's words brought back a few memories. When I first moved to the country when I was in my twenties, for the first time in my life I didn't have neighbours a few yards away.
I rented the bottom of a house and my front door, (in the back of the house) opened to a large field. I used to love to step outside naked late at night, and feel the cool air on my skin. If the lights were off upstairs, I assumed the couple that resided there were asleep, if not I didn't care. The only other eyes that could have possibly caught my late night strolls were the cows in the field.
It was brief period of time, a year later I was in house in town, and my nightly excursions (except for one night after too much wine) basically ended. I certainly was nude enough to put the moniker of 'naked' in front of my name. Unlike myself, Bob had more than just a few experiences or a brief moment or two of nudity. Ever since those late night backyard strips, nudism became a lifestyle.
'I’ve loved nudity since I was a kid and have never been shy or uncomfortable naked in any situation. Nudity, especially public, is incredibly freeing and liberating...it’s one of the most natural things you can do. I hope this gives a bit of insight into my naked life...'
It made sense then, that Bob would connect with George, the California photographer behind Naked Ambition. Bob first connected with George via a mutual friend, a local artist who let Bob know that George was going to be in town and was looking for nude models. George is also a model and has done numerous nude shoots himself. The location for the shoot was the Marina Inn in San Francisco, and Bob shares that during the shoot, the discussions were mostly about focused on their mutual love for nudity and nudism.
'Because of the limited possibilities offered by my hotel room, we didn't shoot for very long, but Bob was incredibly easy to work with. He works out regularly and as a result has a nice physique. Because he is a lifelong nudist he is totally comfortable naked and doesn’t mind showing every inch of his body.'
Hits & Misses
Now that FH is over 10 years old, I have become very specific about what I like, and dislike in photography of the male form. My favorite images may not always be 'the best', but they are the images that I connect with. In photography, like with most things, less is more, and sometimes photographers add too much into certain shots taking away what makes the shot special. For example, I love the shot above. Is the best shot ever, no, but it's so simple, showing little, yet with a few tiny, possibly unplanned details, it's incredibly hot. Here are a few my personal, hits... and misses...
Guns

Hide nor Hair
Hit: Natural looking body hair
Miss: Completely shaved bodies
I don't judge others with body hair, if a guy likes to shave his chest, (I used to) great! If a guy likes to shave his pits or pubic region, wonderful. I think everyone should 'tidy' before going out. But.. there is something disconcerting to me about a body with every bit of hair, (except for their head, eye brows and lids) shaved, plucked or waxed.
Au Natural
I love photos in which even if a penis is seen, it's not the focus. And.. when it's seen, it should be real. Size, shape, girth matter not on the right model in the right image. I love Brett Kiellerop's shot of Kev above. (See more HERE:) So beautiful, so natural. I will never know why some photographers edit men's penis's to the point they looks like a weapon of mass destruction. To those who find it hot, have at it, but morphed members are a definite visual turn off for me.

Deck the Halls
FH readers know I love a great holiday image. Easter, Christmas, Halloween, love them all. One of my favorites is Gordon Nebeker's shot of Mr. Herzog above. (Oh Christmas Tree) Gordon simply chose a Christmas activity, tree trimming, and captured a hot male model doing it naked.
As adorable as the cutie is below, just sticking a Santa hat on a nude model, doesn't make it Christmas. A couple of bonus points however for having him sucking on a candy cane...

Hit: Hotties with pets. Dogs, cats, bunnies, gerbils, all adorable

Downward Dog
Hit: Beautifully capturing a Theme
Miss: Having to sexualize EVERY Theme
No matter what the theme, some photographers push the natural sensuality of their work by overly sexulizing their images. The image below if fun, but there is something organically beautiful and sensual about a hot guy doing naked yoga, not every theme has to be captured as if being shot for a pay porn site.
