Coda
Very sad to hear of the passing of photographer Tom Silk last week. I loved the Tom's imagery and the sensual strength he captured so beautifully. I first connected with Tom on Model Mayhem over a decade ago. I was also fortunate to have featured his work several times on the site and hoped to feature more. I know Tom loved the connections he made through his work with both the models he worked with, and with those who enjoyed his images.
The last time I heard from Tom was a few years ago, He was looking forward to sharing more work and was planning on starting to shoot again after selling his home and moving to a condo. Sadly, health issues stopped his return to getting behind the lens. It was only a few weeks ago in early January that Tom shared on social media that was very ill and entering hospice. Sadly he passed away shortly after. Condolences to his friends and family. R.I.P Thomas Silk
Catching up with Drew Van Acker
Back in the early days of FH, I was introduced to Drew Van Acker as a model. I featured Drew in his many shoot for 2xist and his layout in Fantasticsmag with photographer Matthew Lyn. At the time, Drew was dipping his toes in the acting world with guest appearances on shows including; Castle, Greek and Pretty Little Secrets.
It didn't take long for the actor's career to really take off. A regular on the CW, Van Acker soon found himself with regular roles on Devious Maids and Pretty Little Liars. It wasn't long before Drew's talent and beauty took him to the big screen with a series of roles, and a series of nude scenes, over the last few years.
Acker's amazing ass has been featured in several films, including 2019's Life Like co-starring the equally appealing Steven Strait. Most recently Acker appeared as Jake in Last Survivors with another great rear view. I was going to featured Acker's nude scene from Last Survivors in my annual best nude scene list from 2022, but then realized the film actually first came out the year before in 2021.
As you can see, it all worked out. In addition to the caps and video, (below) from Last Survivors, I also went back and found some of my favorite shots from Drew's modeling days. I love following the changes in the subjects I feature and I love how Drew looked then, and I love how he looks now. He's also a talented actor and I enjoyed both of the films featured below.
