Researching porn star Tim Barnett started off simple enough.  I went to IMDB to find the page for Dealers & Players, and clicked on Tim's name.  This led me to his page which had about 15 or 16 adult films on his resume, all filmed over five years between the years of 1993 to 1997.  There was also a very brief bio, which basically gave his year and place of birth, and year and place of death in July of 2005.

I also found out Barnett began his career in adult entertainment though dancing in clubs in Denver.  Barnett stuck mostly to a G-string on stage, although went completely nude for selected private parties.  Barnett's dance agent eventually got him a audition for an adult film, starting with a solo audition.  Barnett's first scenes were with women before eventually moving to exclusively gay scenes and films. 

Barnett's death oi IMD had me looking a little deeper, and the dark and sinister part was found on his Wikipedia page.  In addition to his work in porn, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the buffed beefcake also worked as a part-time ski instructor, and later, after he left porn, as a real estate agent in Aspen Colorado.  

During his time in porn, Barnett worked with several studios, but Falcon was his favorite.  He found them very professional, and knowledgeable about the business.  They also took great care of him, providing him with nice hotels when he was on location, asking for his input, and ensuring there was always someone on hand to ensure his balls and butt were cleanly shaved before each shoot.

In 2004 however, thing took a criminal turn. Tim, (Bradford Thomas Wagner) was arrested as a suspect in the rape cases of five different women.  The rapes took place during 1993 and 1998, the same time Barnett working in the gay porn industry.  Although there was no trial, according to law enforcement officials, DNA linked Barnett to at least two of the crimes.  There was no trial as Wagner hanged himself with a bed sheet while in his jail cell in Boulder. 

When I started this piece, I didn't know the facts about Barnett's life, criminal activity and death.  I'm not sure if I had known initially if I would have continued, but I'm glad I did.  Although I love telling stories, not all of them end happily ever after.  Lately, it seems I've been delving into darker stories than I usually do.  Not sure if it's a theme, or just coincidence.  Time will tell....
