The Celebrity Olympics: Part IV

I can't believe we're still in 1978 and this is only the 4th Battle!  When I started my series looking back at Battle of the Network stars, I thought it would be a breeze.  There are a lot of images out there, and more episodes of the series than I thought when I started.  That being said, I'm committed to finishing, so onto Battle IV!

This edition of the series was maybe my least favorite thus far.   Yes, we still had a few hotties, but there were also a lot of celebrities included I didn't know.  I had to Google more than a few of 'celebrity' contestants.  The filming was also 'different' for this edition.  Usually the highlight is the swimming competition, and the introduction of swimmers in their speedos.  The year, most of the celebrities were introduced clothed, and even the ones in speedos were shot from the waist up.
 

Still, with Lance Kerwin, Parker Stevenson and a few other hotties, it was well worth the look back.  See more highlights from Battle IV on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Prime Time Supporters: Mark Indelicato

'Ugly Betty' has definitely helped me cope with issues I would have never been able to cope with if I wasn't a part of a show that has such unique characters.'

Nothing ages you more than crushing over actors you once watched when they were kids.  30 year old actor Mark Indelicato was a just a teenager when he played Betty's nephew Justin on Ugly Betty, but even then, he was breaking norms.  Even though it wasn't that long ago, there were many gay teens on TV in the 2000's, especially ones so lovingly accepted by their family.

Last month, I wrote that I was finally watching Hacks, and was crushing over actor Paul W Downs who plays Jimmy on the show. (HERE:)  Now that I've finished by binge, I have another crush, and it's Mark Indelicto who plays Damien, one of Deborah's assistants.  

As much as I love Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, the more I watch, the more it's the supporting cast I'm enjoying.  From the reviews that I read, I don't think I loved the last season as much as others, but I did love the supporting actors, especially those played by Downs, Megan Stalter, Rose Abdoo and Indelicato.   

I love when they're all in scenes together, and Abdoo and Indelicato's line deliveries are hilarious.  I was glad to read Indelicato was upgraded to series regular, and I hope the next season gives us a Damien story arc.   If not, I'll settle for more hilarious Damien quips.

Pedestals & Penises: Rick & Terry by Lights On Studio

FH readers know that I love featuring the work of photographer Tom Nakielski, (Lights On Studio)  Given I've spotlighted so many of his studio shoots, last year, I did a piece focusing on Tom's outdoor and location work. (HERE:)  In that piece, there a couple of shots of Rick, Terry and a beautiful stone pedestal.  When Tom and I were recently discussing upcoming themes, I asked about seeing more of Rick, Terry and images from the shoot.

Turns out the shoot and location took place a little West of Tom's studio in Lansing, Michigan.  Rick lived in California, and since Tom was heading their for a visit, they planned to shoot while Tom was there.  Given Tom wasn't from the area however, he needed to secure a place to shoot before arriving.  

Tom decided to turn to a few fellow photographers he had connected with on Model Mayhem and ended up contacting his Norman, a photographer friend who lived in the area.  Tom initially only asked Norman for some idea's and suggestions, but Norman had an even better idea.  Even though they had never met, because of their on-in connection, Norman invited Tom to shoot at his home and around his backyard and outdoor pool.

With the location set, Tom next had to deal with the problem of the penis.  Although Rick was up for posing fully nude, he informed him shortly before the shoot, his penis couldn't be photographed.  Some penis' can be a little camera shy, but given Tom had planned a nude shoot, around a swimming pool, he was going to have to scrap the shot list he'd planned, and get a little extra creative to  ensure proper penis protection.

When taking test shots, I did inadvertently get a few shots that revealed his privates but knew I couldn't use them. A few years later I noticed a photographer had posted some images of Rick fully exposed.  I contacted Rick about that. He responded that the photographer posted them without his permission.  

I did try to contact Rick for this piece to see if he would be ok with me posting them on FH. I thought given that they're already out there, he might give me the go ahead. He never responded.  I was tempted to submit them to FH, but, my conscience got the best of me, so I did not included them. Regretfully FH viewers will not get the big penis reveal. And it was big. 

Although Rick and his dick didn't make the final edits, the penis predicament was sort of solved in a couple of ways.  First off, when Tom saw the incredible location, with the statues and pedestals, visions of Greek Gods and their classic poses came cascading through his mind.  Although most of those Greek Gods did indeed have heavenly and spiritual schlongs, they were usually not the focus.  Tom knew he could should in a variety of classic poses poses which would not have to include Rick's modest member.

Then, although not planned, another penis came to the rescue and this willing willy was camera read.  The other penis belonged to Terry, a model who just happened to be visiting Norman at the time.  Terry was a dancer with a great body, he spent years performing with the Moulin Rouge in Paris.  Although Terry was over 50, Tom said he looked decades younger and was more than willing to join in the shoot.

Terry did have one stipulation however, and yes, it had to do with his penis.  Terry had no problem with his penis being shot, he just asked that his Moulin Rouge wiener, not be in the same frame as his French face.   So... Tom went to work, shooting and avoiding one dick, while trying to get the other pecker pictured, without including the models face.  I'd say all and all, he did an incredible job, especially with all the terms from the tools.

'All in all though, session of the two men together went really well. Rick is a straight man while Terry is not. Rick was slightly hesitant to do a couples shot but as you can see, did come around.. It was funny because in a couple of the shots with Rick sitting on the Greek column, Terry practically had his face in Ricks groin staring at his privates. Rick looked a little concerned but went along with it all. '
