'Maxi's learning the delicate art, of patrolling a nudist beach.'
Many FH viewers, especially those from Down Under, know of the channel 10 television show Bondi Rescue. The program, which began airing in 2006, follows the daily lives and routines of the Waverley Council professional lifeguards who patrol Bondi Beach.
One of the most popular lifeguards is Trent Maxwell. (aka Maxi) Maxi was a Bondi lifeguard for 10 seasons of the show. He started as a trainee at age 16 and became a full-time lifeguard before transitioning to Fire and Rescue NSW. With that smile, not to mention his blond hair and swimmer's body, it's no wonder Maxi was so popular during his run.
'There are definitely a lot of skills that I’ve taken from working on the beach for the last eleven years to the fireys, especially the medical stuff and dealing with the public – managing altercations and stuff like that. And also from the fireys to the beach, because I am still on the beaches as a casual.'
Many highlights and episodes of Bondi Rescue are available on YouTube. (HERE:) One recent clip that caught my eye featured Maxi and another lifeguard stripping down, (except for their belts) to patrol a nude section of the beach. I'm not quite sure if this is standard wear for the nude beach, or a fun prank to play on Maxi, but either way, it was an enjoyable watch...
