Three are so many reasons Heated Rivalry was such a phenomenon. Starting with the source material to the music and the brilliant acting. At the forefront however, has to be the vision and mastery of writer, director and showrunner Jacob Tierney. I'm sure there are many actors, especially those doing nude scenes, who question the choices of their director when it comes the work. With Jacob, those choices come from experience.
Jacob's career in the arts began when he was just six years old. From big screen hits like Josh and S.A.M to regular roles on television including on Dracula: The Series and Are you Afraid of the Dark. Along the way, like breakout stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, Tierney also did a few nude scenes.
Back in 2004, Tierney co-starred alongside Emily Hampshire, (Schitt's Creek) in the dark drama Blood. It's difficult to describe the film other than to say it's like if Andy Warhol and Tennessee Williams worked together to write a play. It's dark, it's odd, it's erotic. It's also an intense character drama.
Both Hampshire and Tierney spent a lot of time wearing very little, with a few nude scenes in the second half of the film. There's a dark, but quick frontal which required the pause button to 'barely see'.
Tierney also dropped trou in the 2016 romantic drama Lovesick. In the film the Montreal born Tierney plays Dash, a broke, depressed 33 year old who is still in love with his ex. It all seems hopeless until Dash meets Nora , a spontaneous and unforgettable woman. Timing is everything however, and Nora's not going to wait around.
