A Sensual Sphere: Ben by MWords Photo

'This was the golden hour sun.'
Ben

When it comes to art, the first hit is  usually visual.  With great art however,  what follows is an emotional response as well.  Adjectives are important when describing any piece of art.  When it comes to FH, and visuals of the male form, I've used a plethora of adjectives over the years.  Many, including words like 'hot' and 'sexy' are focused on that the initial visual hit.  Because we're bombarded with so many visuals when on-line, we often stop at the visual, then scroll on by.  It's rare that image has us stop, linger, and appreciate how the visual makes us feel.

Earlier this year, I introduced FH readers to UK based model Ben Chidley and his work with Jack Saul Photography. (HERE:)  I was struck by the quiet erotic intensity within the images.  When a image is 'sexy' it can  come down to to just the basics, a hot body or body part.  When an image is viewed as 'sensual,' more variables must be in place.  A beautiful body to start, but also elegant poses, lighting, location, and a skilled artist also all need to be a place.

On a recent Twitter scroll, Ben's visuals again motivated to stop, and soak in the sensual atmosphere in the images.  I loved the poses, the light and the story the images told. Sometimes the most sensual of situations occur with small moments from daily life.  The series, was shot by photographer MWords, an artist I wasn't aware of.  I immediately had to contact Ben about sharing their creative collaboration on the site.  Ben was on board and also shared his thoughts on the shoot, and what he's been up to since his previous appearance on the site.

Have you done much modeling since our last piece earlier this year?
This year has been a massive transformational one for me. I have been promoted within my job and also stated my fitness journey this year that led up to me completing my first half marathon last week! Modelling has been something that I’ve really neglected this year however, I am planning to spend a lot more time in front of the camera moving forward because I miss it so much! Once you start modelling, you never really want to stop.

How did you connect with MWords?
Mark reached out to me via my Instagram. I had never modelled before, nor did I ever think that I had much model potential. Before I started modelling, I had my own little at home photo shoots that I began sharing on my Instagram. Mark saw my photos and asked if I had ever considered modelling. I was apprehensive at first but since then we have worked together 4 or 5 times now!

Love the light, what time of day was it?
This was the golden hour sun. I typically shoot in the evening due to my schedule and this was the perfect time, around about 6pm in the summer sun!

What was your favorite part about this shoot and working with MWords?
I always love working with Mark. He is a true professional photographer that always has become a great friend. He helped me a lot to build up my confidence and find the best poses to make me feel good about my body

Were the poses planned, or occur in the moment?
Yes to both. Some of the shots in the bathroom were planned, we wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous golden hour sun that was beaming through the window. The shots on the bed were impromptu, the best shots always are! I was taking a break, laying on the bed, in between set ups and the sun was hitting in all the right places. I often find it easy to shoot the more sensual shots as I feel that the pure act of being naked in front of the camera is a sensual experience.
