TV's Hottest Himbos

Bo & Luke Duke

There have always been dim witted characters on television.  Silly, naive, usually supporting characters whose naivety is used for the easy laugh.  Although it's often thought most of the these characters were female, television has also had it's fair share of male dim wits.

Woody Boyd (Cheers)

When I look back, especially to television shows before the seventies and eighties, I can think of many male characters who struggled with coming up with a cohesive thought.  Mr. Furley, Gomer Pyle, Jethro, Ted Baxter and Gilligan.  There was a difference however, between the concept challenged male characters with their female counterparts.... sex appeal.

Joey Tribbiani (Friends)

Jethro, (possibly aside) most of the denser male characters were not especially good looking and were written more as buffoons than as a little dim witted.  Their female counter parts however, were called Bimbos, hot, often blonde, bombshells who although not especially swift, had hearts of gold with the ability to teach life lessons to others.

Jordan Catalano (My So Called Life)

Sometime in the seventies, maybe with those Duke boys, the dim witted TV males got hotter and were beginning to rival their female counter parts in the hottness department.  Although Duke boys were wise enough to always get out of trouble, they struggled to actually avoid it.  Bimbo's and Himbo's are not dumb, many are intellectually the smartest characters on their shows. They can be doctors, lawyers and scientists.  The entire male cast of The Big Bang Theory could be called Bimbos, except for that pesky sex appeal factor.

Gabriel Maddox (How To Get Away With Murder)

For the most part, Himbo's earn their title due to their pattern of repeating mistakes, especially in relationships.  Himbo's may have brains, but they often let their emotions, not to mention their penis, take the lead.  This often leads to repeated romantic failures due.  Their trusting nature often causes them to get taken advantage of, time after time, after time.

Reggie Mantle (Riverdale)

Soaps operas seem to especially like their Himbos.  With a large female audience, they often write  their men hot but slightly stunted.  In order for soaps to continue year after year, characters need to learn slowly, allowing them to make the same mistakes decade after decade.  This is especially true for male characters under the age of 50.

Passions

Days Of Our Lives seems to have the most Himbos Per capita. Most of the younger male character are totally at the whim of the show's female characters with Brady Black leading the way.  Brady's penis has led him to failed relationship after failed relationship including falling in love with baby kidnappers, murderers and psychopaths.   Brady falls in love with pretty much every woman he sleeps with, and regardless of who tries to warn him, he ignores them and always gets burned.

Brady Black (Days of Our Lives)

Sam Evans (Glee)

Despite their flaws,  Himbos are not only hot, they also tend to be incredibly kind, loyal, and caring. Most are sensitive, and although they always  can't fix their own lives, are capable of supporting others through issues, often saying wise and profound things during difficult situations.

Jason Stackhouse (True Blood)

Believe it or not, my Himbo list was much longer before I finally had to narrow it down. I surprised myself with how many tv shows rely on the hot Himbo to mine story.  If you check out this list, you'll notice on of TV's biggest Himbo's is conspicuously missing.  That's because it was he who inspired this piece, one scene from his show in particular.  To find out my choice for TV's biggest Himbo, check out the piece below. Michael Kelso (That 70's Show)

Andy Dwyer (Parks & Recreation)

Daniel Grayson (Revenge)

Tim Riggins (Friday Night Lights)
