In A New York Minute.... SantinoX by RMark Photo

Regular readers of the blog know that I featured the shot of Santino this past weekend in my count down to Christmas ball drop series.  Roger from RMark Photography sent me oodles of hotties holding their big Christmas balls to use.  I love all of the shots Roger sent on, but there's was something about Santino however, that had me wanting to see more...

I loved the shot that Roger captured, especially Santino's seductive pose. Santino has such a handsome face, and beautiful eyes.  I also love his mustache, something most models can't as smoothly pull off.  Santino also has a great body, with a beautifully round behind. There was also or course....just something seasonally sensual about the way Santino was licking his finger.

When I asked Roger about seeing more, he hesitated slightly.  Roger loved the shoot and images that he and Santino captured, but thought he might not have enough for a post.  The shoot turned out to be one of the shortest in Roger's shooting history.  It had nothing to do with Santino, but circumstances beyond both he and Roger's control.  Don Henley wrote that things can change in a New York minute, and for Roger, the day of the shoot certainly got pretty strange...

'Santino had seen my photographs on Instagram, and asked me about photographing him.  He was in New York and said that if  ever got to the city, to let him know so a time to shoot could be planned.  I had already made plans to visit New York , and had booked a hotel recommended by a model I had previously shot there.  I loved the space and the light and had used it to shoot several times in the past. From his posts on Instagram , I could tell that he was comfortable with posing nude, so ,we set up a photo session during the time that I would be at that hotel.

The night before Santino's photo session, I went to Brooklyn to stay with a friend of mine who lives in Borough Hall. In the morning I texted Santino that I was on my way and would be at the hotel a little before our scheduled time. Then, I had one of those New York experiences. The Subway train that worked its way up through Manhattan, got stuck in between stops. And we sat for 15 minutes. At least the lights and air-conditioning stayed on.

Next, the conductor came over the speaker and said : "Wah...Wah...Wah..." Then the train started moving again. I texted Santino, that we were moving. But, I did not notice that the Subway train was not crossing over into Queens, Garden City. Instead, it went straight up Manhattan to 96th Street. So, I had to take three more trains to try to get back down Manhattan, and over into Garden City. And I had a mile long walk, after I got off the alternate subway trains. So, instead of being early, I was an hour late.

Santino waited patiently in the hotel lobby. Unfortunately, he had another commitment and had to leave an hour later. So, we got right to work photographing. I had sent him photographs of the interior of the space with the floor to ceiling windows, the balcony, and the tub. So, we tried to use all of those locations. Santino was good at taking direction in posing. At the very end, in the last 5 minutes, I gave him the Holiday Ornament. And, I mentioned that he could do classical or humor poses. He tried both. So, it was one of the shortest photos sessions that I ever had!'
