Ben Hardy in The Voyeurs

Pippa and Thomas move into their dream apartment, but notice that their windows look directly into the apartment opposite. This will set in motion a chain of events that will lead to disaster.

I've been following the career of English actor Ben Hardy for about a year now.  It began, as it usually does, with an image.  There were shots of Ben all over the net during his time filming X-Men Apocalypse. Many were shirtless shots of Ben onset, or images of him as Angel in his wings. I never got into the X-Men series though, nor have watched any of the films.  Sure, I've seen some scenes on-line and on television, but the only film from the franchise that I've watched from start to finish was when I dragged to Wolverine way back in 2009.

Still, I love me some Ben, and decided to finally dive into 2021's The Voyeurs.  I admit, I'm one of those people with negative feelings toward Sydney Sweeney.  It's probably one of the reasons I put off watching the film.  I know exactly why I feel the way I do, but it's there.  I guess in part it's the rumour that she's MAGA.  I don't know for sure if she is, but if I were a celebrity, and accused of being part of such a hateful and racist movement, I'd be sure to clear that up swiftly.   I know many celebrities don't want to get 'political', but to me MAGA has zero to do with politics, and everything to do with cruelty and hate.

I also think, Sweeny is such a good actress, that some of the characters she's played have had an impact.  I find her character in Euphoria incredibly annoying and I truly HATED Olivia, the character she played in the first season of The White Lotus. Olivia was such a bitch, especially to her younger brother, and Sweeny so good at playing her, it had me turned off the actress long before any future controversies over jeans.

It's a tribute to Ben's beautiful body and butt then, that I recently checked out The Voyeurs.  I'm really glad I did.  First off, I have to admit, watching Sweeny's as Pippa didn't bother me even a little bit.  Writer and director Michael Mohan did an incredible job at setting up a sexy, and unique take on the Rear Window theme.

Mohan also quickly and skillfully created a mysteriously hot villain in Seb. (Hardy)  He also gave us plenty of nudity, but male and female, and even a quick, but blurry frontal flash.  I was really into the film until the twist.  I won't spoil it, and it's not about the ending, but instead, a twist that turns the story after the midway point.

The Voyeurs

I found the twist really lame, and actually ruined much of the work Mohan had put into writing the set-up.  In the end however, I'd still have to give the movie a C+. Although I found the twist silly, I did love the set-up and build up of the story, mood set by the director and mostly a series of excellent performances, especially from Hardy.
