'A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.'
Although not a Magus, a fully realized wizard, Larko was indeed often late. Late to class, late to appointments, engagement, and late to the party. This is the main reason I'm spottling Larko last, he was of course, late to the convening of the council. Unlike other young wizards however, Larko rarely got in trouble. He fellow students of wizardly laughed at his lateness, his teachers found it endearing. Larko just had this way about him that made everyone love him, and accept his flaws with humour rather than annoyance.
Maybe it was because Larko was sort of the baby of the group. He wasn't the youngest, but he filled the role of the loveable pup who followed the others around, happy, helpful and always full of energy. His goal, to make others happy, and meet their needs when he could.. Larko wasn't exactly a submissive pup. but he would go overboard to help others with homework and all the tasks and duties the wizard academy required.
It was all that helping, especially when it came to meeting the more intimate needs of others, that often led to his lateness. That's part of the reason he never got in trouble, those around him knew Larko wasn't lazy or disorganized, he was just busy assisting others with work and fantasy fulfillment. His teachers knew in part, this would make him a great wizard one day, but at the same time, this pup needed to learn boundaries.
It was also the reason on one on the council would be supporting Larko for transition to Witchdom. Given how often he let his fellow wizards use him, he would be eaten alive by a Coven of witches. They wouldn't let their fondness for their puppy stop them from using him for darker deeds, and favors too unmentionable for a wizard to consider. Because they all loved him however, and wanted to keep him happy, most of them let Larko think he was in the running.
This had Larko believing that he would be riding a broom before the stroke midnight on Halloween night. Or... maybe in his case, a little later. It wasn't that Larko wanted it that badly, he hated the thought of leaving the comfort of the Academy. If his fellow wizards and teachers however, believed he was the one, Larko certainly didn't want to let them down. Sadly, given he was being lied to, it was Larko who was headed for a fall.
So who will pick up their broom and begin stirring the brew this Halloween? Will it be Larko, Miguel, Berkley, Beau, Tony, Ramon or Ian? Check back on Halloween to find out!
