Gilles Crofta is an artist that has been long overdue for a feature on FH, so I offer a belated welcome to the Loughborough, England photographer. I have been familiar, and enjoyed Gilles work for several years now and even featured a few of his images when working on model profiles and interviews with AJ Pack and Adam Fletcher.

Things however sometimes slip through the cracks no matter how much we try be organized. Thanks to model Tommy (with the beautiful bottom, at the bottom of this piece), I am finally filling the gap, as Gilles image of Tommy, back to camera, naked. holding the cigarette was an image in I have had saved in my 'contact' folder for almost a year now. The image of Tommy is a great example of what I love so much about Gilles images.

It often seems that some photographers who focus on athletes and fitness, shoot with a bit of a narrow focus. We have all come across images of great looking fit men who are oiled up, muscles glistening with their body looking incredible. Then, your view widens and you wonder why the photographer didn't put a bit more time and attention into the models face, hair, fashion and surroundings. Gilles puts his attention on every aspect of the images he produces.
Adam
Although his one important focus may be physique, Gilles clearly understand the overall effect of the image is equally important and beautifully blends glamour and fashion with fitness creating stylish images of incredible men while not losing an ounce of their inherent masculinity.
Callum
This blending was never more present and evident than in Gilles work with professional Rugby league footballer Stuart Reardon last year. If you had not heard of Gilles Crofta by then, I'm sure most of you caught his images of Stuart. Their work together spread like wild fire across the web and although Stuart was shot by many professionals last year, Gilles images became some of the most popular downloaded and shared. His image of Stuart, crouched naked, holding the football on the filed was one of my favorites and embodied so well the essence of the athlete.

2013 promises to be equally as busy, and successful for Gilles. Gilles images appear frequently on models for PUMP underwear and has been spending many of his pre-Christmas hours scouring through his favorite images for some calendars planned for next year.
