I know the word 'spawn' has a negative connotation, as it's generally not used as a compliment. As a noun though, it simply means 'offspring' and there have been several soap spawn created over the years. I've featured soap stud Don Diamont, (above) many times on the site, but back in 2015, I introduced FH readers (HERE:) to his son Zander. (below) In addition to playing football, Zander also dipped his toe into the modeling world, but from my research, it appears he's since taken his toe out.
Over the last couple of years, two other soap studs have helped introduced their good looking studs to the world. It's certainly not uncommon for sons to follow in their father's footsteps, especially in show business. Many famous soap stars have had children in the business. John Aniston's daughter Jennifer, and Jeanne Cooper's son Corbin Bernsen both became famous beyond the world of daytime drama.
Actor Eric Martsolf has been taking off his shirt for soap scenes since his days on Passions close to 23 years ago. Now at 53, his shirt is still coming off, now on Days of our Lives. Eric even appeared with some of his co-stars in a (non-nude) spread in Playgirl Magazine in 2024. His son Mason hasn't followed his day into daytime television, but still, a into a career that requires plenty of shirtless moments. Mason has entered the modeling world, and as you can see from the images below, is not in his father's shadow, but standing beautifully on his own.
Joshua Morrow started playing Nick Newman on The Young and the Restless back in 1994. Morrow was just 20 at the time. Joshua's son Crew, began his turn on The Bold and the Beautiful this past year, also at the age of 20. Although he's done a few shirtless modeling shots, thus far, I don't think the soap has gotten Crew shirtless. I don't watch The Bold and the Beautiful, but not sure what they're waiting for. it didn't take dad long to be shirtless, and shirtless a lot, when he started on Y & R.
I'm guessing dad gave Crew a little advice, including maybe not doing some nude modeling shots at the beginning of his career. Too bad if he did, but at least we still have those early shots of dad's delicious derriere.
