One to Watch: Jonah Hauer-King

'I have loved you ever since I’ve known you'
Theodore 'Laurie' Laurence

Actor Jonah Hauer-King played Laurie in the 2017 BBC adaption of the classic Louisa May Alcott story.  Born in  North London, Hauer-King grew up with a mother who was both a therapist and a theatre producer.  These seemed to combine and provide direction for the young actor.

He went to school at Eton and attended St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a first class degree in theology and religious studies, juggling acting roles on stage and screen while still attending classes.  One of those stage roles was playing Alan Strang in a Cambridge University production of Equus.

The young actor's first feature was the lead role in Danny Huston's The Last Photograph.  He also starred as Andrius Aras in the film Ashes in the Snow, and as Lucas in A Dog's Way Home.  In November of 2019, it was announced that h would play the role of Prince Eric in director Rob Marshall's upcoming live-action film adaptation of The Little Mermaid.  Although filming has began, it's not anticipated to be released until 2023.

Although he only has a handful of roles under his belt, Hauer-King had had one short nude scene and it wasn't on stage in Equus.  From the few publicity shots I've seen of the show the University produced staging kept the characters clothed.  Hauer-King did have a brief butt scene in 2018's Ashes In The Snow.  The nude scene is actually a 'dream' segment in a much darker scene, but I capped and clipped on the 'dream portion.
