Glen Powell: Elephant In The Room

I haven't decided if I am going to stick with Scream Queens, I am not sure it has enough meat on the bones with regards to story and writing for me. There is plenty of beef (cake) however with the male cast, Nick Jonas, Diego Boneta, Lucien Laviscount, Oliver Hudson and the deliciously talented Glen Powell.

Below: With Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Jonas in Scream Queens

Powell steals every scene he's in even with the eye candy that is Nick Jonas, the talent that is Jamie Lee Curtis and the not so subtle acting style of co-star Emma Roberts. Powell's talent has taken the token 'frat boy' and turned him into one of the show's most interesting characters. Powell balances all the typical frat boy traits of arrogance and privilege with a goofy sexy appeal. Lets hope the writing does the talented actor justice in future episodes.

Anyone But You

'After an amazing first date, Bea and Ben's fiery attraction turns ice cold - until they find themselves unexpectedly reunited at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.'

It was just earlier this week, that I posted the shot of Glen Powell's delicious derriere from his Men's Health shoot.  In the piece, I said that I had thought, our first viewing of Powell's butt would be in a movie.  Turns out, timing is everything.

By now, most of you have seen the trailer for Powell's new film, Anyone But You, but if you haven't, it gives us a nice piece of a scene where Powell strips down in the film.  It actually pretty much shows the entire scene!

Just Because: Glen Powell

Actor Glen Powell had quite a year. A mostly naked return to Scream Queens and appearances several high profile films including Everybody Wants Some and as John Glenn in Hidden Figures. When I first featured Glen in 2015, (HERE:) I wasn't sure I was going to stick with watching Scream Queens.

I didn't. The show was a bit over the top for me and I can only handle Emma Roberts in teenie tiny dozes. But... Powell's short return this past season did lead to some pretty hot and hilarious shower and locker room scenes with John Stamos. I caught enough clips, and promotional shots to know they both should have their own show, on cable of course, to continue their very powerful on screen chemistry.

Holy Powell!

'You know they have to spray tan EVERYWHERE before these things, right?'

I've loved me some Glen Powell, and have been waiting for a good butt shots.  He's given us plenty of tease shots, (HERE:) but I think this our first full view of Glen's glutes.  I thought it would be nude scene in a film, not from a photo shoot for Men's Health.  Let's hope this is the beginning of many butt shots for the magazine!

Man of the Moment:

Actor Glen Powell is certainly Hollywood's man of the moment.  He's been lighting up the big screen in several blockbusters over the last 12 months.  Some are saying he's the next Tom Cruise.  I hope not.  I have great respect for Cruise's early career, but the last two decades he's mostly only making formulaic franchise films.   Cruise is no longer taking the risks he took in the 80's and 90's.

Powell is so good, and so likable, I hope he moves back and forth between summer blockbusters and roles in eclectic and interesting films.  I've been following Powell's career for almost a decade, back to his time on Scream Queens and his nude scene in Sex Ed in 2014.  Check out my previous posts featuring Howell on FH HERE:

Playing With The Boys

'Fans of the original Top Gun’s immortal beach volleyball scene will be relieved to hear that our new heroes find time to play shirtless football on the sand. '

I used to be a magazine freak, spending far too much money buying dozens every week.  Now, I usually only buy one or two magazines a month, usually Entertainment Weekly and once in awhile, an issue of Vanity Fair.  In the latest issue that I bought, I turned the page to find this incredible spread by photographer Nick Riley Bentham.

The images, taken on the Paramount back lot were promoting the new cast members joining Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick.  I recognized two of the faces right away.  I love me some Glen Powell who I've featured previously on the site.  (HERE:) I also just featured actor Jay Ellis in a recent Horror Hunks post. (HERE:) Joining them for the shoot were co-stars Monica Barbaro, Danny Ramirez and Lewis Pullman. (Yes, Bill's son)  I wasn't really looking forward to the film, but these images certainly have me wanting to take a look.

'The younger actors worked out and skipped carbs for months to prep—and did some last-second moisturizing so their muscles would glisten. “I was eventually cut off from the baby oil,” says Powell. After sunset, the cast celebrated with wings, tater tots, and beer, but later learned they had to shoot the scene again. “We were devastated,” Ellis says with a laugh. Moviegoers everywhere will thank them for their service.'
