Just Because: John Allen Nelson

Another favorite couple of mine is another birthday boy for today, actor John Allen Nelson and his Santa Barbara co-star Todd McKee. John has always been a favorite to cover over the years on the blog. Although still busy as an actor, I have not seen him much lately, but when I was growing up in the 80's and 90's he was a favorite of mine on tv.

Favorite Hunk of the Day: John Allen Nelson

John Allen Nelson truly would make my top 5 list of favorite hunks, especially with his shaggy hair and facial hair. (like in the second pic) He was the only reason to watch the first season or 2 of Baywatch. Enjoy a trip down the best memories of John Allen Nelson.

Horror Hunks: Killer Klowns from Outer Space

'What’s weird is that as more times goes by the more popular it gets. More people has seem to come up to me and say “Dude man, ‘Killer Klowns’ is my favorite movie”, while reciting lines. This happens more to me now then it did when the film came out. As a matter of fact, some people liked it but most people considered it just to be a silly movie. Now people fanatically love that movie.'
Grant Cramer

Consider me one of the masses who loves Killer Klowns from Outer Space!  I knew nothing about the 1988 flick until I saw it listed on TCM earlier this year.  In the credits, were two of my favorite hunks from the 80's John Allen Nelson and Grant Cramer.  Now.. I set the DVR hoping for bit of male nudity, I wasn't disappointed in the flick, even without a stitch of male kin.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space is colorful, fun, silly, dumb, creepy, scary and incredibly enjoyable.  When a circus tents plunks itself in the forest near a small town, all hell literally breaks loose.

Grant Cramer

The creepy clowns must have been an inspiration for Ryan Murphy, as the face and make-up reminded me a lot of Twisty from AMS; Freakshow which aired twenty plus years since the films release.   Although the film didn't break any box office records when it came out, it has become a cult classic and a must see for fans of horror and films so bad, they're good!

John Allen Nelson

Although Grant Cramer and John Allen Nelson kep their pants on in Killer Klowns, I was inspired to revisit their previous frontal flashes in film.  Check out Grant in Hardbodies on Page 2 HERE: and John in Criminal Passion on Page 2 HERE:

Archives: Blast From The Past

Peter Barton

When I started FH, one of my goals was to only featured some of today's hottest and most talented hunks, but also feature men who impacted my, and others in the past.  So many sites are all about the men of the moment, the current and hottest bodies and moments.  As we all know however, it's hard to stay front burner for too long, at least not without burning out.

Blast From The Past began as my way of spotlighting some of the models, actors and singers who I grew u with.  It soon became so much more.   Although I had connections with many of the men that I featured, I also included actors who I discovered later in life.  There are many actors, who I either didn't like or didn't notice that I looked at differently when I got older.

When I was a kid, I remember thinking that Tom Selleck was sort of 'gross'.  He seemed old, and I hated his moustache, and how hairy he was.  Then... when I hit my thirties, I started looking back on all those shirtless shots of Selleck with a different perspective...   There are also several classic stars from the 40's, 50's and 60's that I never heard of when I was a kid.  Thanks To TCM, I quickly began crushing over actors, many of whom are in their 80's, 90's or no longer with us at all.

This list includes most of those actors, performers, singers and models that I've blasted back to the past with.  I say most, as there are many former heart throbs who showed up in my birthdays or movie section that I have yet to include.  I hope to add them in once I have time to fully research the blog, but this list is a pretty good beginning.   Looking back at some of the posts, especially those from the site's early days, I realize many need an update.  Some were done before I had the ability to cap and create images on my own, and before learning how enlarge an image.  Hoping to update a few of my favorites soon.

John Allen Nelson in Criminal Passion

Murder, Seduction, Betrayal

I remember as a kid watching John Allen Nelson on Baywatch... not the show, just the opening credits.  There was one clip of John waking towards camera in a black speedo and if I hadn't know already I was gay, I did certainly did then.  That hair, that face, that body.... I had no real interest in watching the show, but I did record that opening on my VCR to replay over and over.

It wasn't until I was much older and on the Internet that discovered John's soft core resume.  Mostly, it was just grainy screen caps from VHS recordings of movies that never made the cut for a DVD release.  But.. thanks to downloading, some of John's performances can be seen just a little, more clearer.

John's underwater frontal in 1994's Criminal Passion (Angel of Desire) still manages to arouse.  Although the goods are seen through a chlorine lens, the camera gives us many opportunities to think we got a good look as little John flops and floats just a few feet under.

Burn Baby Burn!

In putting together FH, I always have my eye on future subjects and stories. Whenever I scan something that peaks my interest, whether I am doing blog work, or stuff more my job, I have a little folder and notepad that I put down idea's and throw in images so that I don't forget. Often however, they end up being an image I cannot identify, or a photo that at first seemed like a great idea for a feature, that when I sit down to write doesn't quite come together.

Three photos above: Todd McKee

Over the summer, I am starting a new feature, The Burn Off to share these images and stories. Usually things are burned off to simply get rid of them, like networks do with doomed series over the summer. Although that is a small part of what I am doing, I also think that although the shots and stories may not inspire a full feature, they are also too good to just shove into my recycle bin.

Below John Allen Nelson

While I was in high school in the early 90's I had a brief fling with the soap Santa Barbara. The NBC affiliate where I lived chose not show the show in the afternoon, instead airing it every night a midnight. It was the perfect show to sink my teeth into as I got into bed. Sadly the show did not last long but introduced me to actors Todd McKee and John Allen Nelson. I actually only watched for a short time and did not see John on the Show but I did become a fan later on. You can see more of my previous features with Todd HERE & HERE: and with John HERE:, HERE, HERE, & HERE

Just Because: John Allen Nelson & Todd McKee

As many of you know, I love putting together features on former Hunks in my Blast From The Past section. When I revisited some of my favorites a few weeks ago I did not include some the soap actors I had profiled. This shot of the oh so hot John Allen Nelson & adorable Todd McKee reminded me of the posts I have done on both actors. If your a fan of John or Todd take a trip down memory lane with Todd HERE & HERE: and with John HERE:, HERE, HERE, & HERE
