It's always interesting seeing who is making their Battle (ie speedo) debut in an episode of Battle of the Network Stars.   It seemed to be mandatory, that if you were in the swimming comp, you wore a speedo.  I think the stars may have had a choice for other events, but if you're swimming, you're wearing your budgie smugglers.  Some of the male celebrities tried to cover their packages as much as possible, and wrapping themselves in a towel when not in action. Others however, let it all hang out.

It's also interesting, looking back, how many celebrities switched teams.  William Devane, who I think is making his Battle debut, is the captain for the NBC team.  Devane was starring in the short-lived 1980 series of From Here To Eternity.  A few years later, Devane would return on the CBS team, this time co-starring on Knots Landing.  Devane was never considered a 'hunk', but looked hotter than usual when shirtless.


For this installment, the director again decided not to do the 'speedo parade' at the beginning of the swimming competition.  They did however, introduce all of the stars, and many were in their suits, preparing to dive in.  Sadly, they didn't do the long body shots they often did in previous shots.  I would have loved to have seen a longer shot of man, especially WKRP's Gary Sandy.

Lovers and Other Killers


I discovered a year or so ago that one of my retro channels was airing Murder She Wrote.  I never really watched the show when it first aired, but it was a favorite of my parents.  I started watching a few episodes awhile ago, and got hooked for a short while.  Although I'm not watching regularly now, I always take a peek when the 1984 episode, Lovers and other Killers airs.


The episode itself isn't anything outstanding, but it's guest stars that week did include hotties Andrew Stevens and Grant Goodeve.  It also stands out as Goodeve wears a speedo in one scene, something that was, and continues to be, rare in Prime-Time. 


I featured caps from the scene before, in fact I've featured caps and clips of Grant's beautifully beefy bare ass as well, from the 1998 softcore flick, Take Two. (HERE:)  Still, when the episode aired again recently, I bemoaned there wasn't an HD quality version of the scene.


Turns out there are, thanks to one of my favorite sites to visit, Casperfan.   The video below comes from Standard recording, but the caps are HD fro Casperfan's site.  By the way, when I posted images of Willie's wood earlier this year, (HERE:) shots of Willie Aames with speedo wood, I heard from a viewer that Eight Is Enough currently airs on Roku.  I don't have Roku, but am thinking of investing in a stick this summer as I've only seen a handful of episodes from the DVD release of the first season.

Blast From The Past: Mark Hamill


'I'm Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you!'


Although I went back and forth between lusting after Luke and Hans, I think Luke won out most of the time, especially when I was younger.   Although there is only about 9 years between Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, when I was a kid watching Star Wars, Hans seemed like the older guy, and my appreciate for older men didn't really occur until I was in my twenties.

Star Wars was actually Hamill's very first feature film, and it's hard to imagine making your screen debut in a bigger world wide money making hit.  Hamill had been working steadily on television, making appearances on shows including: The Bill Cosby Show, Room 222, The Partridge Family and General Hospital.


When Hamill got his audition for the sci-fi saga, he had actually just signed a five year contract with Lorimar.  Hamill was cast as the original David Bradford in Eight Is Enough and had already filmed the pilot. Although it took a little doing, Lorimar eventually let Hamill out of his contract to do the film.  Grant Goodeve went on to play David for the rest of the shows run.

Currently, my Galactic crush is solely on Hamill, who I admire and respect for his outspoken views on politics and world events.  I'm sure some which Luke Skywalker would speak less about the orange idiot, but Luke's fought an ugly emperor before, and I enjoy watching him on Twitter doing the same today.

Black Magic Woman (1991)

One of Hamill's hottest scenes to me was his role in the erotic thriller Black Magic Woman in 1991.  Although Hamill kept his clothes on, (barely) we did get a great scene of him in just a skimpy pair of grey undies.  I tried to find a decent copy of the film, without any luck, but did find a low quality version, and made the clip below.


Thankfully, there were a few better quality caps and gifs on the net showing Hamill looking hung in the scene.


Although Hamill is credited as having a nude scene in 1993's Body Bags, my gut tells me it's a body double.  First off, it's Hamill's only butt baring scene, and the way it's filmed never includes a frame of Hamill's handsome face and hot butt together.  Still... worth a look.

Archives: Blast From The Past

When I started FH, one of my goals was to only featured some of today's hottest and most talented hunks, but also feature men who impacted my, and others in the past.  So many sites are all about the men of the moment, the current and hottest bodies and moments.  As we all know however, it's hard to stay front burner for too long, at least not without burning out.


Blast From The Past began as my way of spotlighting some of the models, actors and singers who I grew u with.  It soon became so much more.   Although I had connections with many of the men that I featured, I also included actors who I discovered later in life.  There are many actors, who I either didn't like or didn't notice that I looked at differently when I got older.  


When I was a kid, I remember thinking that Tom Selleck was sort of 'gross'.  He seemed old, and I hated his moustache, and how hairy he was.  Then... when I hit my thirties, I started looking back on all those shirtless shots of Selleck with a different perspective...   There are also several classic stars from the 40's, 50's and 60's that I never heard of when I was a kid.  Thanks To TCM, I quickly began crushing over actors, many of whom are in their 80's, 90's or no longer with us at all.


This list includes most of those actors, performers, singers and models that I've blasted back to the past with.  I say most, as there are many former heart throbs who showed up in my birthdays or movie section that I have yet to include.  I hope to add them in once I have time to fully research the blog, but this list is a pretty good beginning.   Looking back at some of the posts, especially those from the site's early days, I realize many need an update.  Some were done before I had the ability to cap and create images on my own, and before learning how enlarge an image.  Hoping to update a few of my favorites soon.
