Favorite Blast From The Past: Oct 22nd William R. Moses

William R. Moses (Billy Moses) should be a huge movie star. His biggest movie most likely was Mystic Pizza, an early Julia Roberts Film. He has classic movie star looks, is a great actor and has a strong presence on film. It never took off for Billy, he made an impact on television with roles on Falcon Crest, The Perry Mason Movies, Fame LA and many guest roles, but so far leading man status has not come his way.

Back to Billy

Every time I catch a piece of 1988's Mystic Pizza on TV, I end up doing a post. I love the 80's romantic comedy and all of it's male co-stars. My last viewing was a few years ago which led to a 2013 post about actor Adam Storke. (HERE:) Storke, along with Vincent D'Onofrio and William R. Moses played the romantic interests of leads Annabeth Gish, Lili Taylor and Julia Roberts.

This past viewing, my old crush on William (Billy) R. Moses was reignited. I have been watching William on TV since I was a kid on shows like Falcon Crest and Melrose Place through Perry Mason and his speedo wearing days on Battle of the Network Stars. William continues to be a busy actor with recent appearances on Homeland, Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy and a small role in last seasons American Horror Story.

I have feature William previous in my Blast From The Past section, (HERE:) and tried to find some new images and new material for this piece. I especially enjoyed looking through the old Battle 'speedo parades', check out the video below.

Blast From The Past: Rick Moses

William R. Moses

'Were you aware of his HOT older brother Rick?!! He was definitely a junior high lustful crush I had even though I never actually got to watch his show "Young Dan'L Boone"!!'

I've had a crush on William R. (Billy) Moses since seeing him in 1988's Mystic Pizza.  I've also caught some old episodes of Falcon Crest on DVD, especially Billy's shirtless scenes.  I wasn't aware however of his 'hot' older brother, until a FH readers sent me a message with the quote I posted about.

Great genes obviously were passed down from Billy and Rick's father, executive Richard Cantrell Moses, Sr. and their actress mother Marian McCargo.  Billy and Rick also have two other brothers, Graham, a composer and Harry.  Harry, who most closely resembles Billy is also an actor but has also recently become a minister.

Rick, the oldest of the four brothers, got his start on stage in the late 60's.  By the time the 70's came around, Rick was appearing on television on shows including; Room 222,  The F.B.I and Mission Impossible.  Most television watchers at the time, know Rick from his stints on General Hospital, and in the short lived CBS series Young Dan'l Boone.

Young Dan'l Boone

I'm too young to remember ever seeing Rick on TV, but there are a ton of clips form his television appearances on YouTube.  He was obviously big for a short amount of time, as he has many fans, especially from his work in Young Dan'l Boone.  Moses basically left acting after his turn on General Hospital, but has recorded several albums, and one of his songs, If I Could Just Fall in Love, was a huge hit in Germany.

Past Blast:

I am always on the hunt for new guys to feature on my Blast From The Past section. I have a small list going, but still always come back to some of my favorites. In my research last week, I came across this amazing image. Oh those 80's when actors such as Richard Dean Anderson and William R. Moses hung around in their speedos for the Battle Of The Network Stars shows.

Archives: Blast From The Past

Peter Barton

When I started FH, one of my goals was to only featured some of today's hottest and most talented hunks, but also feature men who impacted my, and others in the past.  So many sites are all about the men of the moment, the current and hottest bodies and moments.  As we all know however, it's hard to stay front burner for too long, at least not without burning out.

Blast From The Past began as my way of spotlighting some of the models, actors and singers who I grew u with.  It soon became so much more.   Although I had connections with many of the men that I featured, I also included actors who I discovered later in life.  There are many actors, who I either didn't like or didn't notice that I looked at differently when I got older.

When I was a kid, I remember thinking that Tom Selleck was sort of 'gross'.  He seemed old, and I hated his moustache, and how hairy he was.  Then... when I hit my thirties, I started looking back on all those shirtless shots of Selleck with a different perspective...   There are also several classic stars from the 40's, 50's and 60's that I never heard of when I was a kid.  Thanks To TCM, I quickly began crushing over actors, many of whom are in their 80's, 90's or no longer with us at all.

This list includes most of those actors, performers, singers and models that I've blasted back to the past with.  I say most, as there are many former heart throbs who showed up in my birthdays or movie section that I have yet to include.  I hope to add them in once I have time to fully research the blog, but this list is a pretty good beginning.   Looking back at some of the posts, especially those from the site's early days, I realize many need an update.  Some were done before I had the ability to cap and create images on my own, and before learning how enlarge an image.  Hoping to update a few of my favorites soon.

Blast From The Past!!!

One of my favorite features to put together on FH is Blast From The Past. BFTP was an attempt to shine a light on actors, models and celebrities who made an impact on me while I was growing up. Many of the men featured came from reader suggestions and I spent a lot of time researching men who were famous before my time. Many of the men featured are still busy working, some were only famous during a certain era, some were mere flashes in the pan. Some sadly have passed away. I am happy with all of the famous faces from the past that have been featured and wanted to revisit that part of the blog.

I am hoping some of you might help me with who to feature next? Is there anyone you would like to see added to this impressive list? Anyone you wonder what happened to, any of the guys I have already featured I could feature again with new photos or info? Please let me know by commenting below who you would like to see next as a BFTP!!!

In the meantime, use the search feature at the top left of the blog or just press the BFTP section to the right to look back on some the guys I have featured in the past!
