Favorite Blast From The Past: Oct 28th Adrian Zmed

Adrian Zmed is known for his roles in TJ Hooker, Bachelor Party and Grease 2. He had perfect 80's hair and a killer bod which was used well in TJ Hooker. (Too bad I could not find caps of the episode he played a stripper...) The web is not full of much Adrian info, I found a bit, but thank goodness for the magazines from the 80's I had to do a few scans. Anyone have any more Zmed pics, please drop me a line.

Burn Baby Burn: Adrian Zmed

Eighties hottie Adrian Zmed who has spent the last couple of decades on stage including stints on Broadway in Grease, Blood Brothers & Falsettos.

I don't think I have ever seen a full episode of TJ Hooker, but as a kid I was crushing over Heather Locklear and caught a few scenes. Zmed was the epitome of male eye candy and the shows opening credits are retro heaven and scream 80's with the music and edited scenes. (it was a requirement it seems for every cop on TV in the 70's and 80' to go undercover as a stripper...) I only wish network television today would understand how important opening credits can be. From the little I saw of Hooker, they were the best part of the show.

Hot Suits:

Over the last few years, I've tried to find images, outtakes and behind the scenes shots of all the hot hunks who posed for US Magazine's hot suit issues.  Last year, I thought I found them all, but thanks to some blog readers, a few more have popped.

This series featured the ultra hot Adrian Zmed, posing with actress Rebecca Holden. I wasn't sure who Holden was, but a little research tells me she was a cast member on Knight Rider during the time of this shoot.  I believe Adrian and Holden appeared in the January 1984 issue which featured actor Jon-Erik Hexum on the cover. HERE:

Hot Suits:

I was little young to watch TJ Hooker when it first aired, but I do remember my dad watching on Saturday nights.  I did catch up with a few episodes when it was repeated in the 90's, and although Adrian was hot, the show didn't really appeal to me to find more episodes, or purchase the DVD.

I know Adrian mostly from images in old TV and movie magazines.  He often posted shirtless or in speedos.  I also got to know him when I finally watched Grease 2, and in my research for the old  Battle of the Network Stars shows.  I think these are some of the hottest outtakes from the magazine's swimsuit issues, as Zmed didn't seem to have issue slipping in and out of speedos in a variety of colors.

Archives: Blast From The Past

Peter Barton

When I started FH, one of my goals was to only featured some of today's hottest and most talented hunks, but also feature men who impacted my, and others in the past.  So many sites are all about the men of the moment, the current and hottest bodies and moments.  As we all know however, it's hard to stay front burner for too long, at least not without burning out.

Blast From The Past began as my way of spotlighting some of the models, actors and singers who I grew u with.  It soon became so much more.   Although I had connections with many of the men that I featured, I also included actors who I discovered later in life.  There are many actors, who I either didn't like or didn't notice that I looked at differently when I got older.

When I was a kid, I remember thinking that Tom Selleck was sort of 'gross'.  He seemed old, and I hated his moustache, and how hairy he was.  Then... when I hit my thirties, I started looking back on all those shirtless shots of Selleck with a different perspective...   There are also several classic stars from the 40's, 50's and 60's that I never heard of when I was a kid.  Thanks To TCM, I quickly began crushing over actors, many of whom are in their 80's, 90's or no longer with us at all.

This list includes most of those actors, performers, singers and models that I've blasted back to the past with.  I say most, as there are many former heart throbs who showed up in my birthdays or movie section that I have yet to include.  I hope to add them in once I have time to fully research the blog, but this list is a pretty good beginning.   Looking back at some of the posts, especially those from the site's early days, I realize many need an update.  Some were done before I had the ability to cap and create images on my own, and before learning how enlarge an image.  Hoping to update a few of my favorites soon.

Willie Aames | Bruce Abbott | Jeb Adams | Steve Antin | Richard Dean Anderson | Christopher Atkins | Scott Bakula  | Jimmy Baio | Scott Baio |  Lajos Balázsovits | Christopher Daniel Barnes | Doug Barr | Peter Barton | Steven Bauer | Randall Batinkoff | Warren Beatty | John Beck | Michael Beck | Dirk Benedict | Tom Berenger | Helmut Berger | Kevin Bernhardt | Michael Biehn | Hunt Block | Brian Bloom | Steve Bond | Jesse Borrego |  Joseph Bottoms | Timothy Bottoms | Bruce Boxleitner | Greg Bradford | Brady Boys | Beau Bridges | Woody Brown |  Tom Byrd |

Disrobing The Master

This edition of Horror Hunks didn't start out with the goal of demasking the Master. As a HUGE Buffy fan, I was originally going to take a look at the shows Halloween episodes. Then, I thought of spotlighting the hotness of some of the baddies, but I have previously featured Buffy alum Charlie Weber and Nathan Fillion on FH. Then...I saw an early image of actor under The Master's make-up and a little researched uncovered a 'wee' bit of skin in a 1980's horror flick.

Mark Metcalf, the actor behind The Master is an accomplished theatre actor whose film and television career began in the early 70's. With countless television roles (including the Maestro on Seinfeld) and feature film appearances in films such as Animal House, One Crazy Summer and The Heavenly Kid. Metcalf is also known to Twister Sister fans for his appearances in a couple of their video.

Metcalf in Animal House (1978)

In one of his early film roles, Metcalf joins Rachel Ward, Daryl Hannah, Adrian Zmed and Joe Pantoliano into the woods for 1983's The Final Terror. Sorry for the spoiler, but like many of the horror hunks I feature, Metcalf's character Mike doesn't survive what the group of campers awoken by venturing far into the forest. Even with Zmed in the film, to me Metcalf is the hottest hunk in the cast and I have to admit, my interest in watching diminished after Mike came (literally) to his bloody end.

Final Terror (1983)

Poor Mike didn't remember the cardinal rule of horror films, 'never get naked and never have sex!' Almost every character who fools around ends up having their climax, their last. Although we don't see much, just a few flashes of skin and side butt, I will never look at The Master the same way again!
